  Hi all

  I add a text layer and then add my custom fill effect. Then I call AdvItemSuite1()-> PF_ForceRerender (in_data, & (params [0]-> u.ld)) of the CEAP for all layers. But only for the text layer, AE will appear a dialog box displays the following error message:

  After effects error: layer does not have a source.

  Why is this happening? What other call can I use to render all the layers?

  text layers is really a source (as opposed to solids which do).

  any source operation you will do an a text layer will give an error.

  It goes the same for shape layers.

  They gave me a PSD file that uses a font called Soho Gothic Pro. In Photoshop, the designer switched to stylistic alternatives under the Opentype menu option under fonts (see photo).

  

  However, I can't find this option in After Effects. In AE, it seems that the police used designer is not available, but in Photoshop it is. After Effects cannot read the Opentype fonts?

  It is just as much that Dave has said - AE doesn't support the substitution of glyph based on rules, the sad excuse behind it being that someone thought that we must ligatures, table numbers and so on because they "break" with text animation (when half the people of the time don't even use it, but only transformations or effects). * crikey * well, we can always hope CS6...

• Purchase after effects system

  Hi all

  IM buying a new system mainly for photoshop printing and design. However, I would like to penetrate the animated graphics and I want a system that can manage After Effects well so that I can learn the tricks of the trade. I checked a quad core core single processor 2.66 at the mac store and he handle a 2Gig without problem photoshop file. This system would be so comfortable, for this purpose.

  My question is, how comfortable of learning could be on the next system. After Effects is a lot to learn and I want to be able to explore the effects and preview without wasting much time, but I also want to be reasonable.

  NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512 MB

  I know it's the low end, but I thought it would be ideal for a person to learn After Effects. Please note that I'd probably get frustrated with a slow system and this would alleviate my motivation to learn After Effects. I don't want to wait 20 minutes just to see what would make a filter.

• Adobe After Effects CS5.5 does not display. AVI Video. Help!

  I have a computer of the first order, of the video card, ram, a quad core processor. All other video files work fine, but my camera (insignia HD) exports in .avi, and. MOV, and for one of my images in After Effects, I must therefore use other programs to make the video file to another type of file, which considerably hampers my quality, and I just don't have the time to do. I've seen others on the importation of youtube videos. AVI files but for some reason I can't. I mean I can, but it just appears in the thumbnail under white with green sound waves below and playing anything. becomes very frustrating. Ive looked for answers on google but I can not find. What may be a codec problem? Also my. AVI files work very well on programs such as power Director 9 and Windows movie maker. Just not After effects.

  Thanks Dave, I appreciate your help. Wasent necessary, but no worrys sarcasm I see your photo, you're a bit of ancient origin, so I understand. I infact "read the manual" infact it is the first thing I did. It did not help, but then again why would it? for its insignia brand. (cheap as dirt) Anyway, the .avi files are still not working but I went out to. MOV, and it works like a charm solved problem. I appreciate your help.

• After Effects CS4 Sniffer_gpu does not work

  After Effects worked fine a few minutes ago and then the next time that I started it all of a sudden it gave me this message that sniffer_gpu had ceased to function.   Restartt the sysrtem of re - initialize the graphics driver. Hibernation has everything just what it says - freeze the current state, including what could be the problem.

• CS4 and After Effects CS4 Premeire does not

  If this is not the place on the forum to post this please, say so. Every thing worked until the day after the effects started to do my much smaller than usual image sequences.  I couldn't find any help to do this, then I restored my computer.  After he did restore After Effects has not been installed. I've restored when it was installed.  It confused me so I tried to re - install using the package that you download from the tests (I use the trial version). It takes about 80% charged (not 80% installed, the installation program was opened to 80%) it froze and wouldn't go any further.  I had to use Ctrl Alt Delete to get it closed.  I have reinstalled Setup several times, but kept the same past.  After it happened I thought I could live without trial after effects.  Adobe Premiere has worked perfectly until I tried to export to a media file.  When I do this it comes up with an error.  When I clicked on the wrong button a text file arrives with a group of numbers, as he said something like "this operation has been cancelled by the user. I did nothing to cancel, so I don't know what is happening. If you need the document text displayed please tell.   Thanks for your help, I can't understand what is happening.

  Hi all

  I'm on a Mac, and I'm just eager to replace the images by using the process of selection of the layer and then the Option by dragging the new images on the name of the layer. He has worked previously, but now in AE CS6, CC and CC 2014:

  1-if I have a shape layer, the new images moved causes an error "error effects: layer does not have a source." (26: 335) ("we see here: http://postimg.org/image/tyh38uuu5/).

  2. If I use a chart as the first layer and then replace it with another chart, it does not replace. He gets just added as a new layer.

  A lot of troubleshooting already... I've even went up to uninstall CC 2014 and then reinstall it, obviously without success. My Google-Fu can be low, I wasn't able to find a solution in this way. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  User error (me). It is not currently possible to replace a shape with images layer.
  I was confused a shape layer with a solid (after the use of camera tracking).

  As to #2, above:

  He now works using the keyboard shortcut: Cmd, Opt, /.
  I don't know why the button Option-do drag method does not work (the factory key Option everywhere else),.
  but I won't argue with success.
