After installing elements task bar disappeared

Since upgrading Firefox to Version 8, as the loaded updated version my ber task icons lost associations and now appear as an icon of typr whie unknown file.

Understand that the problem is your Windows 7 icons are confused at least for MS Office, the view is to select "All programs" from the Windows start. It seems a little farfetched that Firefox would have changed icons on other applications and all of them fell in function both. If I understand the work Office applications and will appear separately on the Windows taskbar, but they have a generic application icon. It affects more than office. This loss of the correct icon affects the programs directly on the top of the Start Menu or the desktop or Quick Launch bar.

He did 4 days you posted first. If you have not restarted your system, since you had the problem, you could try that.

Looks like a solution here:

Rebuild the cache icon in Windows 7
http://www.trishtech.com/win7/rebuild_icons_cache_in_windows_7.php

If the problem recurs:

Icons randomly change to different icons:

Separate issue, turns to me like you're pinning of the tasks of the Windows taskbar, as Windows 7 hid the quick launch area. You can still use the Quick Launch bar and I have files that it contains.

See the article #12 in my page on Windows 7 Home Premium (#steps)

If you don't like the order applications open on the Windows taskbar, you can drag to rearrange the order. Items in the quick launch area can be sorted via the context menu.

  • Pavilion g6: black border appeared on the right side of the screen - the task bar disappeared downstairs - 1280 x 800 (recommended)

My laptop recently hooked and I couldn't even do a ctrl/alt/delete to run the programme of work to see what was going on, so I turned off manually. At the start, I have a black border running down the right side of the page and can not see the taskbar at the bottom. I put in 1280 x 720 resolution to allow access to the bottom task bar. I updated the driver for the display, but this did not remedy the problem. How can I go back to 1280 x 800?

FIXED! Last series of Microsoft updates have cured the problem. The resolution is now in 1366 x 768 (recommended)!

I can't think I powered the phone turned off when microsoft have downloaded updates, too bad Microsoft doesn't inform you they do this and then freeze you :-(

  • Icons in the task bar disappeared

Original title: XP Pro not written Lac program memory information

After reinstallation of programs or using the Task Manager to stop some sandbox process, then from the programs again to return the status bar icons in the status bar, they disappear after a reboot or shut down and restart. I have a Dell Optiplex GX280, 3.4 GHz with 3 GB of RAM. Two of them are new modules of a GB of quality and the other GB is two older modules of 512 MB. It was an intermittent problem and the tray would sometimes load icons of the toolbar State but now only the clock and running network icons are there after the reboot. I changed the bar of tasks and Menu properties back to try to reset the status bar, but nothing seems to help. A new facility is out of the question with all the security and other updates that need to be reinstalled on this old of a BONE, especially with "dial-up". I just restored a full backup of my external hard drive, but it made no difference. I have a laptop Dell XP Home that works very well. I didn't something different with the XP Pro that I did not go to the laptop.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

    • What were the changes made before the problem occurred?

    You can view these methods:

    Method 1:

I suggest you to start your computer in safe mode with network and check.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2:

Try the SFC scan on the computer in mode noraml.

SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary.

Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows. In view of this, plus the fact that the SFC/scannow is completely automatic and very easy to use, the tool should be usually one of your top not troubleshooting.

I updated vista 64 Service Pack 2 to allow the installation of ie9.  After installing sp2, my taskbar has been changed and the vista theme completely disappeared.  Areas of the screen are now much brighter, lighter or white (taskbar now is almost white and has the old style box 'Start').  I went in the 'appearance' of the control panel section and searched the vista theme - it's gone.  Installation of task bar that I had before the sp2 update is missing.  How can I get that back?  I tried to remove and reinstall sp2 and restore to earlier date and put it back - no matter what I do the screwed up theme with no option to get the old back.  Everything else works fine.  How to bring back the task of vista bar/color theme?  Is there a file I can load up?  I'm tired of wasting time of uninstallation/reinstallation.  We don't like also how change is so brilliant screen - and we do not find a way to change that either - there is no manual ocntrols and not to tarnish the brightness - no indication 'aid' does not provide - it says adjust buttons that do not exist.  How to bring back the vista theme?

  • After installing Ubuntu 11.04, Windows Vista has disappeared.

Original title: Windows vista is missing

After installing Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) my other OP system Windows vista has disappeared. I don't get a menu to choose which OP system I want to use. The grub menu 2 does not include an entry for windows. My computer directly boots into Ubuntu. I tried to put the installation disc in the status bar to try to recover the system but nothing works. Can someone help me please? Isetta cordially.

    Hi Isetta,

It seems that after installing Ubuntu, grub 2 took control of Boot Manager and changed the boot sequence. To change the startup entries to get Vista, you must contact Ubuntu for assistance on changing the grub boot entries 2.
