  Do you have the Windows Desktop Search installed issue?

  Your system's disks IDE or SATA drives?

  Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

  The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

  Check the settings of the virtual machine for the parameters as shared folders and locally connected devices. There may be something set up that needs time to 'connect' or probably time out.
