When I start my laptop Vista loaded, I get 'Please Wait' for more than 2 minutes sometimes. What does Vista behind my back?

I have a Toshiba laptop with no extra or odd options, this is the case whenever I start and it's annoying when Vista was announced as being quick to start.  This small circular thing continues his tail for up to 4 minutes while the 'Please Wait' shines.  Very unsatisfactory.  I also bought the best virus/malware protection money can buy, at least that's what they say, it's a bit like microsoft.

Check if the same problem occurs if you "clean boot" your system (check this page). This should load Windows Vista without third-party programs. If the startup time is better, then you will need to find or which program is causing the problem.
However, you can check this page first.

    We need more information!

Borrowing another post by ElderL (the same "JoseIbarra' that Elizabeth23 already mentioned):
Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

What is your Internet browser and version?

Do you have the Windows Desktop Search installed issue?

Your system's disks IDE or SATA drives?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

What do you see (exactly) that you don't think you should see, and when you see it?

What do not you think that you should see?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

    ___________________________________________________________
Once you answer these questions to the best of your ability, a lot of people here (don't forget that almost all of us are volunteers who are also using Windows XP) will probably be able to help quickly resolve your problem.
That (ElderL also) might help, too (because its results will contain many answers to the above questions):
Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

For video device and driver information, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

  • Vista 64 SP2: when you run windows update, trustedinstaller takes 100% of one of the drivers for more than 20 minutes

I recently bought a new computer, when I run Windows Update there is a process called TrustedInstaller.exe, taking 100% of one of the cores for a very long time (> 20 minutes).

I have vista 64 SP2 and all updates installed (took me over 3 days to complete).

Also, when I try to install additional features of windows (for example. IIS) the same thing happens, trusteinstaller takes 100% of the base and install new features forever.

I have not installed additional software so far is very little probable that a virus or spyware is the cause. When I'm not updating the an or install features of windows, the computer running quickly and the cpu load is not high at all.

    Can update you Avast manually?

  • When you select a message that was downloaded from Thurnderbird, the softward past mode of non-response for more than one minute before the message can be read.

I am a user of seven years of Thunderbird. Three months after downloading successfully messages from my e-mail address, [email protected], I started having bad to select messages to read the content. Whenever I chose a message, the software entered into no answer mode as long as a minute or two. After this period, the message is selected and I could read the content. To try to solve this problem, I uninstalled the version of Thunderbird software I use and downloaded and installed a new version about two months ago. After that, the software works without problem as she had for seven years. However, since approximately two to four weeks after that I installed the latest version of the software, the problem of a selected message, pass in no answer mode started to happen again. It has worsened gradually until now I a not able to use the software. This problem applies only to the Inbox. The selection of messages into local folders properly.

I have the same problem. I have subfolders, but have been using Thunderbird for many years and it was never a problem, although I had a similar problem a year or two ago due to a McAfee issue that was finally resolved. I usually less than 20 messages in my Inbox. I delete or remove messages every day.

  • opening of session takes more than one minute (win vista)

Hi, I have vista premium 32 bit version with 4 GB of ram and 2 x cpu 2.00 GHz each I have no problem with the hardware and all drivers are up to date and my whole system I revised myself, but I can't work out just why he is more than a minute at the start screen of vista with the scrolling green bar? Now I don't know what im doing with my system, but im either missing something or there is a more serious problem. I just found a solution that gets rid of the problem but he always comes back.  the solution that I found was if I reset my read-ahead using a piece of software called tweakVI my computer starts perfect as it was just installed fresh lol. BUT after I rebooted to new that dates back to more than a minute to boot.

I used boot procmon log too, and I got 1 thing that takes a lot of time at startup, close to 80 seconds. Svchost.exe notifychangedirectory path: c:\windows\tasks and the result is success there is 4 wires still taking 80secs and a little more ideas what can I do with this?

I also tried other things like (clean boot) disable all non-microsoft services and which does not address the cause, as well as audit service task scheduler to see if he was on a departure delayed but it is set to automatic.

I doubt that it was a Windows Update.  Simply charge things.

Frankly - until the boot time go beyond 3 minutes on a modern machine, I think very little of him.  At initialization time means very little compared to how it runs once it is up.

I systems I demarrer start from SSD, installs own, etc.  With the things that start (antivirus, antimalware, various services for wireless and wired networks, firewall, etc.) sometimes it can take more than a minute--sometimes two.  Generally not - your stay below / 1 minute.

What is your exact (of cold/off voltage) (three trials minimum) start?

What a warm reboot (choose to reboot and when the powers of the screen wide going / empty to start loading, start time)?

Use "AutoRuns" to see what everything starts up.

"Process Explorer" allows you to really dig into what is currently running.

There is a bug that has this pop-up message in Outlook Express, the same when you're not using it, but I've never heard of what happens in Windows Mail.

This saint, especially as you don't use Winmail, it won't hurt a thing to click OK and accept the compaction. If the problem arises in the future, open WinMail and in tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance, uncheck the box for compact the database on shutdown every xx runs.
