After the abduction of a trojan virus, I still have no internet access
After the abduction of a trojan virus, I still have no internet access with Internet explorer, Google Earth, or Yahoo Messenger. Attempt to update Yahoo Messenger from a download of update, a message indicates "Yahoo Messenger is unable to download files needed for installation. Please check the firewall settings and try again. It does not matter whether or not the firewall is disabled. Yahoo Messenger is able to connect, but not to show me the list of the rooms in the right panel. Firefox still works fine and all I use.
Here are a few things to check after an infection or elimination:
We will check your network connection properties.
Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your disabled Internet access.
Click Start, run and enter in the box:
Inetcpl.cpl
Click OK to launch the Internet Properties Control Panel, choose connections, LANsettings.
Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.
These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.
(If you make settings, write them down so you can undo changes if you must)
On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.
Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.
Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings. On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.
If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.
Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.
On the general tab, click Properties.
In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically. Select the following two options:
The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.
Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.
Restart your computer and test your connection.
If it still does not work, check your settings are still in place after a restart and then release and renewal IP of your network device configuration settings.
Click Start, run and enter in the box:
cmd
Click OK to open a command prompt window, and then type the following commands:
ipconfig / renew
Restart your computer and test your connection.
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:
Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
It can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Do, or do not. There is no test.
I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

Original title: connection problem
Hello! I recently did a clean installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and I use a wireless USB adapter. Windows says I am connected to the router, but I have no internet access, and I have this yellow on trinagle. Work of all my other Windows 7 PCs, but this one. Could someone help me? Thank you!
Hello
Welcome to the community forums of Microsoft and thanks for posting the question. I've surely you will help find a solution on the issue. I see that you are unable to connect to the wireless network after you perform a new installation.
I suggest you to consult the steps described in the article:
Method 1:
You can try the steps in the link and check.
You can update the driver of windows 7 on the manufacturer's Web site.
Method 2:
You can remove and re-create the wireless network connection, follow these steps:a. Click Start, type ncpa.cpl , and then press on Enter.
b. right click on your wireless network connection and then click Properties.
c. click the wireless networks tab.
d. under preferred networks, click your Wireless
network and then click on remove. e. click on view Wireless networks.
f. under management of the network, click refresh the network list.
g. under Choose a wireless network, click the wireless network to which you want to connect, and then click Connect.
Method 3:
If the steps above don't you can uninstall and reinstall the NIC drivers and check with the question.a. click on Start menu, in the Search tab type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.
b. right click on network adapters and click Uninstall and restart the computer.
c. after rebooting, install network cards and check with the question.
Method 4:
You can temporarily disable the antivirus and firewall on the computer and see if it helps:Enable or disable Windows FirewallNOTE: Turn off Windows Firewall might make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.
You can see the following link to disable the Antivirus installed on your computer software.Disable the anti-virus software
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-softwareNOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacksPlease follow these recommended steps and post if you still experience the problem. I'd be happy to help you further. -

So I'm trying to save my dad's computer (and its files + settings) after that he was struck with a variety of bad guys: Alureon, FakeSysDef, Blacole, Gen-Nullo, difficulty system, etc..
Has finally got the office programs and files back after the entire MBAM, TDSSKiller, SuperAntiSpyware, etc., of jazz, but STILL not get things all the way back to the normal and good scans with MSSE, MBAM and MS Security Scanner are clean, I am afraid that the computer is always infested with something or the other... (mainly due to my inability to use / access Windows Update: receive the 0x800A0046 error code AND get it published (feat of Java Blacole) out of a Flash drive, I used my system between the two machines... stupid, I know)
so, here are the details: Dell XPS: Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3: seems to have been hit in early November that there is no fixes/updates after 11/14 or more.
I told him years not to run multiple antivirus + spyware programs at the same time, but he ignored me consistently. I have since completely uninstalled Norton (using their removal tool on a newly created user account, as I couldn't make it work on sound - both are admin ETCA) and Webroot and installed MSSE. At one point he swindled with system security 2011 and from there installed PC Fix, difficulty system and any other fake antivirus, it can click. When the first infestation (before everything went to sh * t) I was takled him thanks to a restoration system and scan... About a week later, he ignored previous orders on not clicking or not to install anything without calling me everything first and got the rest of them (see list above).
This time, we could not access any program, web page, without failure, System Restore, its own user account, etc etc. Somehow (with MBAM, TDSSKiller, etc) I entered the computer, installed process explorer, started the happy hunting and following 'view' & restore icons/programs/etc. And yet we always face the dilemma of Windows Update, the loss of its sites Favorites/tabs, loss of / NO content in administrative tools (both through the control panel and Start Menu: file is empty when it is open) and inability to use the system restore.
I found this thread ( http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_update/windows-update-not-working-ie8xphome-error/db7956c9-d77c-e011-9b4b-68b599b31bf5 ) in which the fellow was in THE SAME EXACT POSITION I'm NOW - for a tee - who said: "those who would be interested - this problem has been resolved by an engineer from climbing on the Team Support of Windows XP. It was "Removing Group Policy" through a registry fix, "Reloading safety model" via several downloads and finally run a .bat file also downloaded. "So I guess I need help do the same.
Can someone help me or offer any other advice or assistance to get this sorted out? Thank you in advance for anything you can do!
See you soon,.
Katherine
Hi Mike,.
Yes, I tried all these steps without success...
Buuuuut...
I ended up calling the Microsoft's Technet support, which helped me to identify two registry entries that the horde of virus/trojan/rootkit had created changed, that I had not already taken AND finished the download of some clever little program (difficulty WU Utility I think?) which allowed me to reset + reregister the BITs, cryptographic, & System Restore services... That did the trick (although, as far as I know; dear ol ' pop reported no problems at the moment ;-))
Thank you Jeebus! Laughing out loud
See you soon,.

Unable to connect to the internet after the removal of system tool virus
A computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002, Service Pack 3 has got a virus System Tool which I believe I deleted using the key of activation and then run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. On reboot, the system tool icon was still in the system tray, so I ran Norton 360 to remove unwanted registry files. He got rid of the icon in the system tray. I also then removed the Malwarebytes software. Please note that, while I was removing the virus, I was able to connect to AOL so that in mode safe mode with networking. Finally, who has stopped working. The Malwarebytes software has been downloaded on the infected computer with a flash drive from a computer with working internet.
I cannot now connect to the internet with Internet Explorer 8 or AOL (under standard or secure modes). When you are trying to connect with IE8, the message reads 'Internet Explorer cannot display the web page' and when I run the diagnostic tests, it indicates there is a problem with the modem and/or router. These devices are, however, both the work that there are other computers connected to them and they work.
I tried Microsoft solutions are answers to a similar question. Unfortunately, none of them worked in my situation. They have been in accordance with the following:
No doubt...
What happens when you try to connect to the Internet?
What is your version of XP, the version of Service Pack and IE?
What method did you relieve your system of affection 'Antivir Solution Pro' (how confident you are that you got rid of him)?
Generally, any part of this procedure is necessary after removing Antivir Solution Pro (a well documented removal procedure would have included the steps to cancel Internet connectivity issues). I would get my infected system and try the procedure you used to see how it works.
If, when you try to connect with Internet Explorer, you see something like:
Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage
The most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The Web site encounters problems.
There could be a typing error in the address. We will check your network connection properties.
Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your Internet disabled in certain situations.
Click Start, run and enter in the box:Inetcpl.cpl
Click OK to start the network settings of Internet control panel applet properties, connections.
Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.
These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.
On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.
Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checkedMake changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.
Obtain an IP address automatically
Get a DNS server address automatically
The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.
Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.
Restart your computer and test your connection.
Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Also, I typed cmd in the start run box and the command-line entered ipconfig enough and ipconfig/renew. This is also not rectify the situation.
For your assistance, the following is a copy of a part of the file that I thought that may be applicable after that I typed in miscinfo32 in start, run box:

The removal of the virus seems to have taken some required system files. See if the System File Checker helps. Click Start > run and enter in the field open.
sfc/scannow
Press ENTER. The System File Checker must detect the missing necessary files and put back them. If this does not work, use a system restore point from before you were infected. If this does not work, get out of your XP installation diskettes.

Sometimes my T2 must be recalibrated. I downloaed DigiFix a few months ago and it seemed to help a little. I hot sync my data last night and everything was fine. This morning I couldn't tap my screen to access anything whatsoever. I tried to thoroughly clean the edge of the screen, gently cleaned the screen (no visible damage to the screen noted), performed a reset (which usually works), software reset hot, followed by a warm reboot and, finally, a hard reset (data kept) followed by a warm reboot, then the big one, a hard reset with data loss followed with 5 soft resets in a row. I found the Forum a T2 update I downloaded and is ready to be installed when I got hot then sync.
The unit is now fixed with the x in the start position in the upper left corner. Despite my efforts to knock quietly all around the X, I just can't get to recalibrate or even down the calibration screen. If I could just go to any ordinary screen, I could recover my data and install this update of T2.
I also downloaded Pocket DVD studio a week ago and have been able to download the .avi files to watch videos on my Palm. I works perfectly. I think I still have the original Kimoma player on my T2, but never really like him. Can someone help me please? This update of T2 is supposed to help according to information I found in the forum... Thank you very much!
Try to clean dirt that can accumulate between the bezel case and digitizer with the folded corner of a piece of copier paper. Do not go under the greater than 2.5 mm bezel. If you use a screen protector, it could have migrated under the window causing a tap screen Ghost and the substitution of all what you type. Remove it.
If still no joy, perhaps your digitizer is worn and it is time to replace. pdaparts.com and usedpdaparts.com sell replacements and can install them for you, for a nominal sum of service.

the itunes library could not be saved you have enough greenest access for this operation
I get the following message when I upload music when I am in itunes. the itunes library could not be saved. You have enough greenest access for this operation
Hi WesleyJefferson,
· Did you do changes on the computer before the show?
Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:
Method 1: These messages occur if the permissions are incorrect on your designated music folder or a folder in your designated music folder. The permissions are settings that determine who can read, write, or execute a file or a folder on your computer. Each file and folder on your hard drive has an associated permission set.
Example: If the permissions are correct on your music folder, but incorrect on the U2 folder inside your music folder, you would be able to add other music to your iTunes library, but not this new U2 album.
To apply permissions to a file or folder, see the article mentioned below:
How to set, view, change, or remove special permissions for files and folders in Windows XP
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308419
Method 2: You can also read the article and check.
Difficulties to add music to iTunes or audio CD import library
http://support.Apple.com/kb/TS1387
Method 3: Try to uninstall iTunes and other apple system applications and reinstall iTunes again. See the apple Web site to download iTunes. Click on the link below.

Downloaded realtk 8139/810 x using a flash drive, but although we see the file and clicked set up it does not work. How can I get internet access again? I seem to not have an ethernet.
Hi Lorraine,.
1. where did you downloaded the drivers from?
2. what exactly happens when you try to run the set-up file? You receive messages or error codes?
You can try to re - download the latest version of the network drivers on the manufacturer's Web site and check.
You can also try to update the latest version of the chipset drivers and check.
Contact your motherboard manufacturer or the manufacturer of the chipset to get good support driver.

I have windows XP, I had to remove a virus from the Dell XPS. After that, I can't connect to the internet. Either with a wireless connection to the router or a straight cable to the router. All I have is that I can't renew or obtain an IP address. I ran WinsockXP, LSPfix, nothing. I fixed my HOSTS file.
Nothing.
Help!
This is not unusual. Your best bet, in my opiniojn, is to backup all your data, and then reinstall Windows properly.
