After the removal of some components of Windows, I lost some features on my XP computer
I recently tried to fix errors after upgrading to Windows Live, including the removal of some components of Windows (oops)! Now I can't use Internet Explorer, I don't have a calculator or the original games... I tried to restore the system to an earlier date and it does not work... or help?

Utility profile WLAN does not start after the removal of some tools from Toshiba
Here, I would like to say that Toshiba software (utilities, entering in laptops) is poor, unstable and mostly useless. I think it makes sense to launch a call to management of Toshiba to stop dealing us with the ugly such software.
SHAME ON THEM!For example: in my new Toshiba laptop utility of LAN/WLAN profile (the program is useful only) did not work. It has not removed after uninstalling some of the Toshiba Utilities, their menu program shortcuts forms and I can also see their icons to the left in the notification area settings.
In addition, some of the utilities did not start (like Toshiba disc Creator). Also utility Toshiba are very different, poorly described and localized, do not appear in between them and their shortcuts are entwined in the menu of programs with shortcuts to documentation.
Hey Buddy,
To be honest I don t understand why people post only the negative side of utilities Toshiba pre-installed you also noticed that they make your (computer) life easier?
I don t want to count each tool of Toshiba, but they provide useful functions like CD burning, material is diagnosed, assistant LAN/WLAN connection and so far.
If you don't like it, n no one said that should be used. Uninstall it and be happy with your laptop. :)
Regarding your problem:
I put t know why don t tool work harder because you don't l t post the exact name of it, and that the tools you deleted but say you ConfigFree? The program is useful for WLAN/LAN connections then try to reinstall Toshiba page. -

Hello
If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to

Problem with Windows Update after the removal of Virus
My operating system is Win Vista 32 bit, had some virus closed my windows updates, have a view of the white page. Checked that my services and win update is in automatic mode has started, so I don't know why my updater gives me a red x saying windows updater is turned off. Any suggestions?
[Original title: Windows Update]
It makes more sense. How to reset the Windows Update components?
Yet, as indicated in The ball , the search results links do not work. I also used several browsers and DuckDuckGo. Maybe it's because the Windows Update Agent was changed some time ago and the article is no longer valid.
EDIT: If the OP is also struggling to access the link I suggest using repair Windows updates available from tweaking.com. I suggest also using the Registry backup of the same author before hand.

I installed win 8 January last on a xp pro machine, which was in surplus. I uninstalled the victory 8 and now impossible to reinstall win xp pro
The computer is a homemade which ran from win xp pro for several years. I installed win 8 trial knowing that it would take a new installation of XP Pro after the expiration of the 8 victory. I have reset my bios on a cd first and started in the installation cd after installing win xp, it went to boot, and the cd has been removed. a restart was launched and he went into the bios to save install and after the robot below the windows splash logo made 3 passes, he stopped at halfway. After this is is spent in attempts to bppting I noticed that whenever the start stopped he left the Num lock, cap lock, and scroll liux lights were all on on the keyboard. I traded my keyboard with one of my current computer and it always occurres. I started to reload several times now and always the same. No bios settings have helped.Hello
Unplug the machine to see if this allows the machine to reinstall the operating system of any material not needed (such as printers, fax, speakers, USB devices (except keyboard and mouse), Internet connections, etc.).

Remove the spaces after the launch of directx10 games in Windows 7 64 bit
Hello
Whenever I try to run a game that uses directx 10, the screen turns off, and the computer becomes inadmissible.
I did a search on the web, and it seems to be a problem with the installation of games that use directx 9 .0c, because they seem to force the installation of the first. Appearently, it replaces some dx11 files and this allows.
Apparently, the solution is to reinstall directx, which I did, but to no avail. There is no error in dxdiag, and he displayed that directx 11 is the current version:

Windows XP Pro do not validate after the removal of the hard drive
In an older machine, I have a copy of Windows XP Pro, it is validated and worked perfectly fine, until I removed a dying hard drive of the machine, then it is suddenly telling me that the OS is not genuine. I can't get to turn on again in a way that I can think of, and I don't see anything immediately above that might interfere with the activation. I would really not like to re - install the operating system, anyway I can activate it again without doing so would be greatly appreciated.

I think I got this, just need confirmation, before I was going to HP.com to find udpated pilots, then site Web HP said if computers purchased after August 2013 have been tested, I think you could get the updates via the HP with WIN10 site. My pc model was purchased in February 2013, it seems now that I have WIN10 there is no drivers for me page to go it says that I need to go to the updates of Windows. Before I upgraded to 10, I was 8, and I had full access to the drivers download through HP.com page. However, I think I understand now, I had a problem with the Norton Removal Tool, after using it, it makes my pilot biometric and disabled the Windows Hello to WIN10 - the reader of fingerprints for a connection. The pilot appeared to be corrupted and I needed to just reinstall. I finally found an old forum via HP where someone has had the same problem that I did and they are found to include a link for the driver, and it worked for my model of laptop and solved the problem. After some tests, I uninstalled the driver and learned at that time, after the driver is uninstalled, I can go to Windows Update and it will search and find the driver that I uninstalled and offer me the download to reinstall. That's cool. So, I understand now that even now if the drivers are not available for my model via HP.com, I can now just do a search through Windows Update and it will fix the problem, only after that I uninstalled it through Control Panel, Device Manager, once I uninstalled, restarted the computer, then did the updates of Windows It downloaded the driver, like when I went to the Control Panel, Device Manager, I saw the biometric driver in good working condition. This is the case now with who need driver updates / reinstall? (Note: to update the drivers, I know too much, you can go to control panel, Manager of devices, and then click the driver and select Update driver software.)

I'm running Vista 64 on a laptop HP Touchsmart. I've recently updated to SP2. It took me 3 tries to get to SP2. I had there problems were as a result of security, Macafee, who had to be disabled to update, I discovered. Now, Windows Update will install the updates but it reflects not in the update history. It shows then available updates again and when I try to install the second time, they do not. Failure is displayed in the update history. I discovered I can manually download and install updates and they do not show as much success in the history of the update and the updates that Windows Update detects were removed. I completely disabled Macafee but did not help. Any suggestions?

Suggest you clean boot Vista x 64 . Perform step 1 .
Once in the clean boot state, run the Fixit here in clicking on the Internet Explorer shortcut and choosing "Run as Administrator" . Enter a password, if one is used, or click on the button continue. :
How to reset the Windows Update components? Then click the Fixit button, click run in the file download dialog box, and follow the steps described in the fix it Wizard. and choose the default option. Restart the system after the tool runs and check if updates are available, and if they install automatically.
Since it's Patch Tuesday, updates should be available for the system soon, if not today.
IF no updates installed automatically in the coming days, rerun the Fixit but aggressive use.
Don't forget to Cancel the clean boot once you have completed the steps running the Fixit. Please be patient. If you want to see if updates are available but are regulated, check WindowsUpdate.log: How to read the Windowsupdate.log file

Unable to connect to the internet after the removal of system tool virus
A computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002, Service Pack 3 has got a virus System Tool which I believe I deleted using the key of activation and then run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. On reboot, the system tool icon was still in the system tray, so I ran Norton 360 to remove unwanted registry files. He got rid of the icon in the system tray. I also then removed the Malwarebytes software. Please note that, while I was removing the virus, I was able to connect to AOL so that in mode safe mode with networking. Finally, who has stopped working. The Malwarebytes software has been downloaded on the infected computer with a flash drive from a computer with working internet.
I cannot now connect to the internet with Internet Explorer 8 or AOL (under standard or secure modes). When you are trying to connect with IE8, the message reads 'Internet Explorer cannot display the web page' and when I run the diagnostic tests, it indicates there is a problem with the modem and/or router. These devices are, however, both the work that there are other computers connected to them and they work.
I tried Microsoft solutions are answers to a similar question. Unfortunately, none of them worked in my situation. They have been in accordance with the following:
No doubt...
What happens when you try to connect to the Internet?
What is your version of XP, the version of Service Pack and IE?
What method did you relieve your system of affection 'Antivir Solution Pro' (how confident you are that you got rid of him)?
Generally, any part of this procedure is necessary after removing Antivir Solution Pro (a well documented removal procedure would have included the steps to cancel Internet connectivity issues). I would get my infected system and try the procedure you used to see how it works.
If, when you try to connect with Internet Explorer, you see something like:
Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage
The most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The Web site encounters problems.
There could be a typing error in the address. We will check your network connection properties.
Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your Internet disabled in certain situations.
Click Start, run and enter in the box:Inetcpl.cpl
Click OK to start the network settings of Internet control panel applet properties, connections.
Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.
These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.
On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.
Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checkedMake changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.
Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings. On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.
If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.
Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.
On the general tab, click Properties.
In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically. Select the following two options:
Obtain an IP address automatically
Get a DNS server address automatically
The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.
Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.
Restart your computer and test your connection.
Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Also, I typed cmd in the start run box and the command-line entered ipconfig enough and ipconfig/renew. This is also not rectify the situation.
For your assistance, the following is a copy of a part of the file that I thought that may be applicable after that I typed in miscinfo32 in start, run box:

Name of the script fileYou have any ideas that could help me find an internet connection? Thanks for any help.
The removal of the virus seems to have taken some required system files. See if the System File Checker helps. Click Start > run and enter in the field open.
sfc/scannow
Press ENTER. The System File Checker must detect the missing necessary files and put back them. If this does not work, use a system restore point from before you were infected. If this does not work, get out of your XP installation diskettes.

Computer does not restart after the removal of volatile environment HKEY?
Summary: I was trying to remove a cluttered game persistent of my programs list title
so I'm in regedit (register edit) and tried to find (failure) and in the process, I deleted some other persistent games already removed under the registry 'Uninstall', but then I made clownish error after pressing a different register list of folders and what is called 'Unstable' deleted under current HKEY/user and then I could not access the Add/Remove programs of control panel list (he doesn't respond to my clicks) , and when I restarted the PC,.
I forgot to enter the normal restart and was still stuck at the start-up screen, also the Login usual words of greeting don't pop up, and only a few mojibake flashed on the screen for one second before letting me eternally stuck at the loading screen, so I guess that the deleted file was something important. In addition, I can still acess the BIOS Setup Utility.I have the tool, make a HARD drive Diagnostic test but its takes time.
Then... help please? : o
I'm typing this on a spare, slower computer Win7 btw
I didn't have a State previously saved for the restoration of the system, so it couldn't be used, other options?
Things are getting more and more difficult...
You can restore your registry files manually to a previous point through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. You may reset your password to an earlier value.
1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
2. select Repair from the menu.
3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
4. Select repair when prompted.
5. Select the command line in the menu.
6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
DIR C:\Win*
Dir D:\Win*
dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
I'll call this "Q:" drive
7 type these commands:
CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
xcopy *. * Q:\MyRegBack\
CD RegBack
dir
8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
copy software / y...
/y copy system...
/y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\MyRegBack to Q:\Windows\System32\config.
