After viruses need help please - what drivers are needed

We had a virus on our satellite pro M40 and remove one of my friends "kindly" offered help. then he deleted the partition with the windows operating system booted from the CD drive and reinstalled.

only problem now is there is no graphics or sound card and no drivers for anything whatsoever. We had the case of the laptop stolen in the car months ago and most of the supporting documentation was there.

can anyone tell me please what we need drivers?

Thank you

You might be better off asking this question in the Satellite Pro section of this forum that you are more likely to attract the attention of other owners of M40 there. They would probably have disk tools and utilities with the real drivers and descriptions thereon.

  • DM4-3090se animated with your help, but the drivers are missing!

After having burned a dvd using imgburn, I managed to re - load a clean Windows7 in my laptop! Also, I burned another dvd with 1 driver I chose the recommended list of HP-specific drivers for my laptop to re - activate my internet connection (SP65242.exe). It made me put it back online. Then I started the process to download all of the drivers needed to bring all the features of the laptop. But I have the impression of being in the dark than drivers to d/l! Those who will work and who will cause problems?  There are a lot of choices in each group of pilots. Some are Intel and others are AMD. There is Broadcom or something else. Then there is question of chipset I don't know with a warning that he is not coming back!  So I have to ask for help again. Is there a program to ID my laptop so the correct drivers are selected?  I know now to save a copy of SWSetup for next time!

You need all the drivers under Chipset. Also Audio. Driver Synaptics & fingerprints are in the same section. HP SimplePass who works with fingerprints is under 'software security '. Regarding the wireless you know you have--if you remember from before? If this is not the case, show the the hardware ID to the Device Manager.

In fact you could with just install Intel Chipset - then in 'Utility-tools' download and install HP Support Assistant. It can scan your machine and perhaps offer drivers for the rest.

  • What drivers are REALLY necessary for the 230 x?

    Hi guys,.

I recently bought the 230 x - it's great. I also bought an ssd with it and replaced defaultt with the ssd hard drive and did a clean install of Windows 7.

    I have 2 questions:

-the drivers are REALLY essential for my device? Visualize the page drivers, there are a LOT of drivers that can be installed, but I think that some of them are not really necessary, because I don't want to slow down my superfast x 230.

-are there a way to download all THE drivers both in place one by one?

    Thank you in advance,

    Mustafa

    Hello and welcome,

I can't tell you which drivers necessary for what you want to do, but the best way to get them is to install ThinkVantage System Update.  Run it and it will present all the appropriate drivers for the download and installation.

You can review the details of each before you download and decide which ones you want.  Only, check the box for those that you want and let TVSU download and install to a slap.

[edit] It is a pure opionion, based on nothing else than my preference: I'd rather live with the installation of Lenovo for awhile and see what I like - and then uninstall the stuff I have not.   IMNSHO, the initial indigestion is not that bad on a ThinkPad.  OTOH, depending on the size of the SSD, a clean installation may be the way to go.

  • I need help please. (what is the next step after installing Vcenter?)

    Dear professionals

I installed ESXi 5.5, Vsphere client, AD, SQL, SSO, inventory, service, web client Vsphere and Vcenter server.

as you can see FRO the attached photo, I just connected to vcenter server and now I don't know what to do next.

Also, should I connect the view of the Horizon to the Vcenter? How?  and what is the relationship between Horizon view the vCenter.

Please me advice what to do, please guide me.

    Thank you very much

    naoufl

The next step, you will want to do is create an object of data center - it's under this inventory you will add your hosts - ESXi

vCenetr, this is what allows you to centrally manage your environment - view Horizon allows you to create an environment to host virtual offices - Horizon view interacts with vCenter understand the environment and to know what ESXi hosts there are available - this will provide more insight.

  • what drivers are needed

I've changed hard drives after getting a notice of "imminent hard drive failure. I have back up DVD and also the recovery disks. Because my new hard is smaller than the original, the computer won't let me use my recovery disks; Therefore, I did an iso disc of micro soft as advised here on this forum earlier.

When I tried to install this iso disc, I received a message to insert in another disc and install the necessary drivers before I could continue. Exactly what that drivers am I supposed to install and when I download it from? I saw the list of hp drivers listed in the list of update hp drivers. There were 20 or 30 of them with as much of 8 listed under one setting. Am I supposed to download it all on one disc?
I don't understand this and really need a step by step instruction. Going on a couple of weeks trying to get this new hard drive and running.

My computer is a pavilion laptop dv7 cl 4087 entertainment, 64 bit. Any help is appreciated.

    THX, Frank

SUCCESS! I want to thank you Eric for all your advice and perseverance to stay with me and help out me.

It was a corrupted download or a bad burn which was causing all my problems. I have re downloaded the w7 link this morning and it burned on another DVD. (It was easier for me because I'm still not entirely the download tool and how to use :-).) Anyway when I watched the disc and compared to each other, I knew right then that he would probably work. There is that much difference to what I could see on the drive.

Windows is downloaded and place and running. But, apparently, the wifi driver (?) did not download. It has no WiFi on the network. I have searched for it and can not find. What should I do to install and connect via Wi - Fi. I am connected to internet via Ethernet (?) (yellow cable).

Any help with this problem would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you, thank you, still

  • My first system restore date is July 30, 2009, and I need a date of previous restoration to eliminate a virus! Help, please!

I discovered a terrible virus named muwiropu.dll that I tried to get rid of weeks using a variety of anti-virus programs, nothing helps. It was 'created' July 6, 2009 according to its properties. At this point, I thought I should choose a "restore point" before this date - but the first 'date of the restoration', I see it as an option on my computer is on July 30, 2009. I tried to 'free' space to see if it could remedy the situation, but not drive. Other ideas to find somehow an earlier date to restore or to get rid of this virus? Basically, what I run, especially all the programs at startup, give me this error message (sometimes 25 times in a row): "the application or DLL"C:\Windows\system32\muwiropu.dll is not a valid Windows image. " Please check this against your installation diskette. "I don't know what to do to do this, go away!

I read the messages on how to choose a date of system restore, but not how to find dates earlier than that displayed automatically.

  • Windows 7 starts only in Safe Mode after serious Trojan virus. Help, please!

Yesterday, I got a trojan, Anti-Spyware Soft virus accidentally. I'm confident enough, I removed the virus (removed from the registry, ran Malaware which found other cases of the virus attack), but now my computer will only start in safe mode.

I made sure that the box was not clicked in the menu in msconfig. I tried pressing F8 and using the Startup Repair utility, that is no problem. I can't do a system restore, that there is no restore point. This is very frustrating and I am at my wits end, what should I do?

In safe mode, click Start, run then type in msconfig and click OK.  On the check in tab boot to see if Safe Mode is enabled under Boot Options.  If so, uncheck it and try to restart.

  • What drivers are needed for windows 7 recognize a system with 4 processors, dual-core?

I have a HP ProLiant DL580 G4 with the following CPU specifications:

Four dual-core processors Intel Xeon 7140 M. All of them identical, but the specifications can be found here

I'm running Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise, but the recognition of all the 4 physical processors is a MUST.

I can run windows on it very well, but he acknowledges that 2 of the 4 physical processors.

It seems it would be a driver issue, as Device Manager shows two devices having the status of 'unknown '.

If it is, in fact, a driver problem, does Microsoft have all the drivers available, or shall I seek third party?

I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you!

I hope that someone will know better, but (from the search), so it seems that it only supports two:

    "Computers with multiple processors (CPU):
Commercial servers, workstations and other PC high-end may have multiple physical processors. Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and integral allow two physical processors, offering the best performance on these computers. Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium edition recognizes only a single physical processor. "

Note that each 'y' is different. It could mean he drew by hand, it has been converted to outlines and edited, or it's a font with a few smart contextual variants that will likely come at a price.

    Hello

The jury seems to be installed in the Satellite Pro A100 / Satellite A100 laptop computer series
So, you need the drivers for Satellite A100 :)

If you n t know what chipset this card takes in charge, install equipment like Everest Home Edition diagnostic tool in order to get more details on the hardware parts.

    Good luck!

  • Can not remove the virus. Help, please! Satellite 1800-712

    Hello!

I am running XP Home edition on a satellite 1800-712.

The computer behaves very suspiciously, closing (disc according to the error messages or bad driver) and weird popups appear from nowhere (your computer is damaged - visit such or such website and we'll fix it for you) without me even a browser.

I reinstalled XP with repeatedly Toshiba recovery disks, but it does not help. The virus or anything like that is always there. What should I do? Everything is saved. I just want to do a thorough cleaning of the hard drive, but the recovery discs don't seem to be able to.

    Thanks a bunch!

    Hello

If the reinstallation of the system with the recovery CD does not help, the problem must be somewhere else, but not on the software on the hard drive. Maybe the hard drive itself has a problem, and the software cannot be read properly. Sorry, but at the moment I have no idea better.

    Good bye
