Age of Empires II does not work with Vista or Windows 7
I could not get Age of Empires II working on my laptop - first with Vista and now Windows 7.
It installs OK and when you go to launch the small graphics launch box comes up, then the screen becomes phsychedelic before returning to normal and nothing more.
It is a Compaq Presario with a chipset Mobile Intel R45.
Any advice?
RusFry,
If you weren't able to get the game to run in that same laptop with Vista or Windows 7, it seems that there is a conflict of material with this game. I see that this game was for older systems and only supports graphics 800 x 600. You can turn your the desktop resolution to 800 x 600 with 256 colors, and then run the game. If this does not help then you may install DirectX 9 and see if that helps. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

Re: Satellite L300D-13s - WiFi does not work with Vista
I have a L300D-13s that came with Visa Home Premium on it.
His work very well outside the wireless that refuses to work.
I always "Wireless Association failed because Windows did not receive response from the access point or wireless router. The wiresless is a Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802. 11b / g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network adapt
I am running the latest version of the BIOS and the 6.1148.924.2008 drivers dated 2008-09-24. If I use the latest drivers on the RealTek site, I get a message about an unknown error. If I use the NETWORK Ethernet card, then he gets a fine IP address so this isn't the show indicator to publish.
Its not wireless security (I understand that Vista does not support WEP 128 bit). I turned off and it still does.Other laptops running XP connect correctly and this laptop connects fine using no security or WEP or WAP so I boot Linux.
If the problem obviously lies with Vista and/or the drivers. If someone has solved this.
And no - don't tell me to go out and buy a router "Vista compatible".
If Vista does not work with router XP and other operating systems compatible with Vista is wrong.Hello
> Other portable XP connect correctly and this laptop connects fine using no security or WEP or WAP so I boot Linux. If the problem obviously lies with Vista and/or the drivers.
I would say it is not a Vista problem or a Realtek driver problem because I have a Vista and Realtek WLan card and I can connect properly to my router.
In you case, I would say that there is a compatibility problem between the router and the Vista because as you said the laptop can connect properly using Linux.I have goggled a bit and could solve most of the people who have had this issue, update the firmware on the router s.
Maybe you should try that too.

HP4050 does not work with Vista.
I did all the uninstall/install as shown in several places and nothing won't print. I get just "printing error" in the status area.
This worsens the problem as it used to work fine. It got to where I could unplug/plug in the printer so that it and the laptop, or restart the laptop and the dependiing overnight, one of them would solve the problem. Then, it is to reinstall the drivers, and it worked for a while before returning to the steps of the power.
Now, it does not matter. No printing. No "job processing" flashes on the printer, only "printing error" when I opened the Printers folder. I'm on the good (and default) printer and the correct port. All connections are good and the printer works on an old laptop w / XP and ALLOWS to work on my other laptop, also with Vista. Now it does not work it reliable either.
Using the correct driver for Vista 32-bit, so it isn't.
It is a great printer and buy another isn't on the horizon of affordability.
Hello
I suggest you to go through the steps mentioned in the link and the Coachman.

Hi Suzanne,.
Sorry, I Don t understand why you want to buy a new scanner. First of all, it would be nice if you tell us what satellite you have. Other useful information would be exactly, what does NOT work on your satellite and your 'all-in-one '...
Please provide more information on this subject and maybe you shouldn't buy a new scanner.

Nobody knows when it's released software / or ways to get the Dynadock to work with Vista?Hi Stuart
I put t know how it works in the United States, but here in Europe, according to the specification Dynadock, it only works with Windows XP SP2 home edition. I don't think someone can give you info on support for Vista especially here in the user forum.
Try to learn more, contact your local dealer or partner authorized in your country.

WLAN manager does not work with vista 64
Hello
Recently I've upgraded to Windows Vista 64 bit because I bought the additional RAM. I downloaded the drivers for my USB wireless adapter (which is a WUSB54GR), but they do not come with Wlan Manager. I tried to install the WiFi Manager since XP drivers, but it won't work.
The reason why I want this to work is that there are several SSID on my network with the same name, and I want to choose the best of them. Vista indicates the name once only and does not automatically select one that suits, and now I have lag spikes in games like World of Warcraft.
A good third work program would also work I guess, or a vista/hotfix patch for it.
Need help please, I searched the internet for this many times with no effect
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the reply. After some research more, I found out it was something else that caused the lagspikes.
Windows Vista checks to see if there is a best available wireless connection every minute or so.I downloaded a little program called WLAN Optimizer .do, it runs in the background now and my connection works great.

Toshiba HDD Protection - Shock Sensor Driver does not work with Vista
I have improved my Tecra M7 for Vista Ultimate last weekend and there are a number of things that do not work. It's very frustrating because I followed the procedures shown on this website diligently upgrade and will have problems.
Can someone tell me what zip file contains the utility Toshiba HDD Protection shock as I installed everything (except the Config Free because the Zip file seems to be corrupted) and I can't find it anywhere. I noticed that when Vista was recommend the automatic updates after installation it is recommended an updated driver for the HARD disk Protection utility, but is nowhere to be seen and I can't find an installer for anywhere. Does anyone know how to handle this?
Thank you very much
Chris
I don't know if it will help, but try to use the utility disk for Tecra M9 protection.

Toshiba secured 500 GB does not work with Vista 64 bit
I bought a Toshiba 500GB (PX1668e-1he0) guaranteed, and I can't install it on my PC with Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.
On the box says it works at least with Vista, but I can't install it.
When I plug it i and autorun start I have an error message: the digital signature is not valid and it is impossible to install it.Now, I've read that this device must be compatible with 64 bit OS
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/OPT1103320000R01.htmWhat can I do to make it work?
Why Toshiba still sell this device if it is not compatible with the current operating system? Is it possible to update the digital firm pilot?
PS.
The security problem is on:
Audit with the following \XXXXX\BIOLOGIN\securelogin-x64.sys file of Microsoft Windows securityHello
Yes, according to the document, it is possible to use this HARD drive with 64-bit system.
The software is updatedAs far as I know, you can connect the HARD drive to the PC then right click the CD part of the hard drive you and choose install or program.
Should work
