  • What is the Aironet AP1131AG or stupid to use... Pls help!

I'm new to all this wireless Cisco come more school "Apple Airport" of wireless. I bought two AIR-AP1131AG-N-K9 and thought I could pretty well plug & play, but the months of play and I don't always have their work? I have a few stupid questions and hoped that someone could throw me a line?

All I wanted was to have a wireless node that would relay DHCP pray for my 2K 3 server and allow wireless clients to connect as if they were wired (to make it simple)

    I have:

    -Catalyst 3560G (12.2 (25) SEE2)

    AIR-AP1131AG-N-K9 (12.3 (8) JEA3) x 2

The Catalyst 3560 G AP connection port is configured in trunk mode. The AP has had all the security and encryption opened upward for troubleshooting. I created a SSID and he attributed to my main network VLAN (5). Can find anywhere where I define my DHCP server...

    Stupid questions:

1 - is the AIR-AP1131AG-N-K9 actually do what I want or have I not the wrong thing?

    2. I use the IOS on the AIR-AP1131AG-N-K9 right?

    3. I searched here for advice on setting up the PA... is this the right place?

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/access_point/12.3_8_JA/configuration/guide/1238jasc.html

Thank you in advance to anyone who can shed some light on my dilemma.

    George (the fool)

    George,

As long as you properly trunking, the dhcp users request is sent to the VLAN that you have configured the ssid on. The vlan management must be native on the trunk and configured on the access point, other than that, try to configure a dhcp server on the switch and see if the users get an ip address. If they do, then you have a problem with the device of L3, dropping the broadcast dhcp or you don't have vlan 5 configured on all of your devices of l2.

I have a lightweight access point (AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9). I would like to use it as a stand-alone gateway (AIR-AP1131AG-A-K9). Is this possible? There are configuration changes that need to happen to make this happen? Do I need to use different operating system?

Plug the AP directly on your PC not the router.

The best way to proceed is to comfort in the AP and make sure that the

AP can reach the laptop via a switch or a crossover cable

fixing directly from the laptop and the AP.

With your cable from the console, you will be able to see if you pressed on the

    button for 20 seconds.

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return standalone by LWAPP mode

Download a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

Step 1 in the IP address of the computer on which your TFTP server

software should be from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure that the PC contains the image point (for example file

    as c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for series 1200 point access) in the

The TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated. Monitor of the

TFTP program to see the code for transfer to the AP.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder

    C1200-k9w7 - tar.default for series 1200 point access,

    C1130-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1130 access point, and

    C1240-k9w7 - tar.default for 1240 series access point.

Step 4 connect the PC AP with a category 5 (CAT5)

Ethernet cable. This must be a crossover cable if connected

to the AP. Or ethernet cable is normal if the AP and laptop are connected

    to a switch.

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access

    point.

Step 7 press and hold the MODE button until the status light turns red

    (about 20-30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait that access point restarts, as attested by all lights

Green followed the status light blinks green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the graphical interface or

    the CLI.

If the image is not download from Server/tftp on your computer, you may need to delete the previous image of tar on the access point of the console:

Simply hold the mode button until the light is red.

Then, by using the console port, make sure that the guest is AP: and do a show «»

"Flash:" on the device and make sure that there is no image that begins

"c1130-rcvk9w8-tar..." ». If there is an image that starts with who then

    Delete it with "delete flash:

  • Œuvres Cisco WLSE with 1130AG

We will deploy a wireless solution using the Access Point 1130AG (AIR-AP1131AG-A-K9) with Cisco WLSE works (CWWLSE-1030-K9).

    The questions are:

Are there recommendations for the location of Cisco WLSE to work in this building? Furthermore, the building has five floors and each floor has access switch that supports PoE with empty ports Giga?

Second, how many access points are recommended on each floor, floor size is 37.5 x 24 m ^ 2. And all floors are identical in the nature of the building (Council Jobson partition) and the number of users?

    Thank you

    HASSAN

    Hassan:

First of all, the WLSE is like any other server platform, so anywhere with a suitable environment (power/UPS cool, decent, connectivity) should be OK.

About the recommendations on APs how much and where to put em... Well, which is much more difficult.

The only sure answer is that depends on the outcome of an investigation on the right site.

There are so many variables to any given environment, and they are almost always different, that a response may be the result of pure speculation. Which means that is usually guess the right side and overspecifying the solution.

Even then, there are some unknown factors that you can only get with a poll on the site (such as interference... channels used by your neighbors, prospective multipath, dead & such areas).

If you do not know how to make a good site survey, he would pay to hire someone who is long term. It is certainly an additional expense from the start, but the final deployment will be more likely to work in your / your customer expectations.

Once the system is installed, you can make a few tweaks and adjustments according to the measurements reported on the WLSE, but the primary configuration should not be based on a "good guess."

The number of users per access point is also slightly variable according to the type of application and the expected user traffic.

I saw thirty users as an absolute maximum, with as little as ten for use of heavy traffic. Generally speaking, somewhere 20 users per AP for common use would be a reasonable number.

If you have users or systems that will use the 802. 11 b, this number could be lower, since the PA must make accommodations for using 802. 11B and 802.11 g.

More details would be useful, but without a good site survey, no one can really give you a firm answer.

    Good luck

    Scott

  • How to install without Internet connection?

I have CS ^ and the hard drive failed, I need to reload. Impossible to use cloud as mini is in the RV and rarely do we have a reasonable internet signal.

Can seem to find a way to tell it to Adobe.

So... what happened to your original install disks?

Adobe provides more disks, but you can download it on another computer and copy it to a USB key... you WILL need an Internet connection to activate after entering your serial number

Download & install instructions https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003339 can help

-includes a way to go to a page to download the Adobe programs if you do not have a disk or drive

-you will need to enter your original serial number during the installation for non-Cloud programs

    Probably this model

You can try these two procedures

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support  (see Reset the SMC on Mac desktops)

How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

This design has an area of wind on the lower edge of the carcass from which the internal fan draws in air (cooling).  Visually check this area for dust accumulation that may block the flow of air, which could be the reason for the "heat up".

The line running across the screen may be a hardware problem, if you see immediately after a restart, while the iMac is still putting into service.

  • Where is my book of e-mail and archived address?

For other reasons (impossible to open web pages) I did a Recovery MS where he stated my personal data would be spared. Some points need to be recharged, but the data must remain.
I use Mozilla for a few years (great program, BTW) and had created an address book and records of received emails that I had archived according to the Member of the family.

Since the complete recovery step I re-installed Mozilla. He worked and shot the new email to my EarthLink account. I would now like to re - install the address book and my archived e-mail records assuming that they're always around.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting on the problem

  • Store.e TV + - error, and green color

My Store.Tv + have a mistake. When turn on, select HARD drive and select a video file, the green color of the screen TV and Store.e TV + Reload, is impossible to use. HDMI cable and RCA cable used.
    Help?

    Hey,.

    > Cable HDMI and RCA used cable.
This means that you have already tried different cables?
It would also be my suggestion tests different cables because if the TV changes the color all it could be a broken cable.

This occurs with all types of files, or only with a certain file?

What you can do is to reset the box to factory settings and test again. If this isn't the case, it looks like a hardware malfunction.

  • BitLocker Drive preparation tool - fail

    Hello

So, I try to activate bitlocker on my laptop drive encryption, which is already running Vista Ultimate x 86.  I was not initially intended, and I knew that if I wanted to later, I could allagedly use the Bitlocker Drive preparation tool, so I built it with a single partition.

Now, I want to activate bitlocker, so I downloaded the drive preparation tool, but I when I run it, I get the following error:

"The bitlocker Drive Preparation Tool cannot find a system of target drive.  You may need to manually prepare your drive for BitLocker. »

So I search and find this article kb http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933246

I tried to manually specify the system drive by running the command line: ' BdeHdCfg.exe - target: shrink - newdriveletter x: - size 1500-quiet - restart ", but she just runs for a few seconds and then returns to the command prompt, so I check the event log and find an entry under the logs event observer, applications and services, Microsoft, Bitlocker DrivePreparationTool, Admin and found events (event error 1 id) similar to what I saw in the GUI of not find a system drive.  Under the operational event folder, I found event ID 4104, "a volume did not meet the requirements for a target volume. Volume: C: reason: impossible to reduce the target volume of the requested size. "

So in the above article, my error message with certain proposed resolutions: "temporarily disable the hibernation option and disk paging. Then, use the Windows preinstallation environment to remove the file Hiberfil.sys and Pagefile.sys file. Restart the computer in Windows Vista. Then run the BitLocker Drive preparation tool. "OR"reinstall Windows Vista. »

So of course, I tried the first suggestion, disabling hibernation using "powercfg-h" off and delete the hiberfil.sys file, disabled a swap under System properties file and deleted the "pagefile.sys" and restarted.

    Always the same error :(

Is the second action plan 'Reinstall Windows Vista' serious?  I want to activate the drive encryption, should not be this hard.  I don't think that requiring people to reinstall just because an application cannot function in a reasonable way to be an excuse...

    Hi benneh,.

In the article you posted there are two different scenarios listed that could cause the error message:

"The bitlocker Drive Preparation Tool cannot find a system of target drive.  You may need to manually prepare your drive for BitLocker. »

In your post you referenced scenario 2 and the steps you took to solve it, but you reference scenario1 which is as follows:

Scenario 1: You do not have enough free disk space to "at least 10 percent of the active partition must remain free after the partition size is reduced by 1.5 gigabytes (GB). To resolve this error, move the files to another partition or delete files. »

Just to be sure that it is not the reason for your question; After subtracting the reduction in size of 1.5 GB for your total hard drive space always need it the 10 percent of free space on the active partition?  Please let us know.  Thank you.

  • Vista not loading - just get a white screen with the mouse pointer

Hi using Vista for a while now, 4 years, no probs real.  Then two days the PC crashes, and trying to restart the option repair (recommended) came, or start Windows normally, selected repair option, opens Windows screen, then a mouse pointer and that is it, have tried all the options by using the form F8 but never went to the same point, can not use safe mode , don't be filled disc no at all to repair or reload.  Impossible to get even at command proment unless I'm missing a way to get this up on the screen.

    Help please,

    Hello

1 him comes from the operating system that is pre-installed on the computer?
    2. do you get an error message when you try to start in safe mode?

You can turn off all external devices (except the mouse and keyboard), and then try to start.

If you are able to start in safe mode, you need to get a windows vista dvd to solve the problem
If you are able to organize a windows vista dvd, you can perform a startup repair
You may also contact the computer manufacturer to obtain a windows vista dvd

  • Start PC laptop Toshiba in safe mode, only displays black screen, will not respond to any commands.

Hello, I recently tried to do an advanced start safemode, because when I tried to do safe mode by pressing F8 it would have not responded to the command. Then I did a MSconfig, lit manually in safe mode, so I can then restart and do a scan to search for viruses or hackers of air because he had a reason to suspect. Now, after the manual switch, when I rebooted all I get is a black screen. No logo, nothing. When I press the buttons for the controls at first upward, it beeps at me and that's it.

Done, I have XP, not Vista, don't know if it makes much difference or not, but that's exactly what I did.

Is went to start, click Run, type msconfig, went to the utility system configuration, general tab selected, then the system of services. Then selected drivers devices of loading at startup Safemode-minimal database, and then click OK. Then, the computer said I had to be logged as administrator for these changes to take place and to connect and make changes. I was already logged as admin. so I advanced and restarted the computer and that's when I got black screen, no splash screen, no logo, no cursor.

I just read that I could have possibly messed up by not checking the VGA mode in order to be able to communicate in this mode, I don't know if it is correct or not.

I have my recovery discs, I've tried this morning, following their directions and it will not respond to one of these orders either.

I don't understand, why... it was working fine before I did it, but like I said I suspected a virus or a hijacker, but my Norton 360 and SuperSpyware nothing not detected in normal mode. That's why I tried to safe mode.
