  Hi all

  We have awireless LAN Controller "Cisco 4402 with software version 3.2.150.10" we use the Access Point 'AIR-LAP1242AG-E' and his works fine, we bought the new APs with the model "AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9" but its not working with our controller and restart continuously. I connected the console and checked the logs from the console that is given below. Please let me know is this controller WLAN is compatible with the APs new or not, or do I need to upgrade the operating system of the LAN Controller and if I upgrade the operating system of the WLAN controller it will support the old APs or not.

• AIR-LAP1142N will remain not associated with WLC 4402

  We put six new AIR-LAP1142N on network access points.  We have other models of access points in line, and they are very well 4402 log shows that the 1142 s are constantly associate and disassociate. I can see their mac addresses in the list of wireless access. Sometimes I can even see their details. The product ID and the serial number is not.  They have an IP address.

  I've updated the controller to 4.2.209.0 software, but it made no difference. What is the problem here?

  Oh, it's average... 1142 s ONLY works with 5.2 code or ONLY most recent...

  I currently have a 1121 acting as a bridge to allow my wireless clients to connect to the internet via a 871. I want to improve my WAP to a model that supports Wireless N and WPA2. The more affordable model that I can find is the AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9 but, I want to confirm that this new device doesn't have a WLC to work. I don't expect that this device is like a 1121 where I attribute is an IP address and manage it from a browser or from the telnet session, no required WLC.

  To answer your question out of the box, no, it will take a WLC, you can convert to and AP IOS which would not require the WLC or simply order the device as IOS using this reference numbers...   AIR-AP1142N-A-K9

  'option 43 hexagonal f104c0a80a05' looks right to me...

  If you're talking about only a few APs, you could hold the AP in the same vlan as the WLC Management Interface and allow discovery by diffusion...    Once he knows the controller you could put in a different subnet and you don't even need option 43.

  But then again, Option 43 I guess is a safe bet to ensuring that the always AP knows an IP address to find out.

  Have you checked the settings > General > accessibility > greyscale > power off.

  If this does not work ty settings > General > accessibility > zoom > on. Triple, tap the screen with three fingers. Tap choose filter. Click None. Triple, tap the screen to get rid of the menu zoom. If you have enabled greyscale in zoom you can disable it in zoom.

  I use vCenter 5.5 with vSphere WEB GUI to take a snapshot of a RHEL 5.4 32 basic VM on a 5.5 ESXi.  When I choose the "suspend the comments file system" instead of the "memory of the virtual machine snapshot", the creation of the Snapshot failed 90% with "an error occurred when taking a snapshot: failure to suspend the virtual machine.

  I have no problem using the 'snapshot of the virtual machine memory' option to create the snapshot.
