  I have a question about the Toshiba international warranty policy, I searched but did not find the answer on the site.

  I have a P105-S9722 I bought February last year and the warranty expired in Feb 08.
  The whole screen has been replaced for free in November last due to a failure.

  Now, I have a related problem screen developed a few days ago (gray vertical line in the Middle - probably needs another replacement). (the initial expiration date is more, 7 months since the replacement)

  I would like to know if the screen can I extended warranty Auto for another year 1 (from Nov 07) or not. Local distributor said 'no', I called another country, they said only for the replaced, it IS extended. Now I am confused if I pretend to replace it for free.

  What is then the standard of international politics and what should I do?

  Hmm. Your laptop is an American series and it seems to be designed for the American market.
  I'm not sure about the warranty but American policy as far as I know the European specifications are covered by the warranty for a year.

  It is a standard warranty and if you register your laptop on the European site of Toshiba, then, your guarantee will be extended to 2 years.

  If something has been replaced on your laptop, then the new part is covered by the warranty for about 6 months.

  Hi all

  I tried to set up an internet café PC users to work so that they can check facebook etc. there own time since we almost all blocked now.

  The computer is configured with Win Vista latest service packs and just a standard user, first I tried to delete all the user profiles folder and when you sign in it just a temporary profile which we all know is erased when they connect loads. It was until I had complaints that whenever people had set up there IE etc so I was told to fix it.

  I recreated the profile folder and logged in as the user and set up the entire application and copied into the profile default profile and then deleted the profile again.

  Although this method works my manager dose not like the fact that when you log into a bubble appears saying "cannot locate your profile by logging in with a temp" so now im stuck.

  dose - what someone knows a way to implement a local profile so that if a user makes a change that they are erased when they log off and came back to the era where a new person connects again?

  For example, you can create a shutdown script (do not use the Group Policy Editor, but another program) to restore the settings to default conditions.  You can in the Group Policy Editor define the program Internet Explorer by default by creating a default profile, and then selcting the option to import it.  Then each somone start the computer, the default profile will be used (by ignoring the changes made by the previous user).  There are many more options and settings strategy group - too many to name.  I couldn't find a specific who handled your question - but I think it's possible by using a number of different group policies work in tandem and cleaning all the options available during disconnection (or at least get pretty close - I don't know if it is possible to restore it COMPLETELY to the same exact condition).

  What yuu really want is a standard user profile, that works like the guest account or a temporary profile without using the guest account (which you should not do) - and I'm not sure it's possible, but it may be possible to approach using the above procedures.  Or maybe we can find a way to captured to eliminate the message appear when access to the temp account - but I suspect that this implies a change to the registry, and I don't know where to look same fo such a thing.

  I don't know if it helps.  Even if you were able to reach the goal in your last sentence, it would also erase the internet settings and you'd be at square one.  Why can't you just give them all a user profile standard special for this machine (or machines) and then use Group Policy to limit what they are able to change (but allow them to change their internet settings).  In this way each user will have its own configuration when they connect - even it may vary a few users in the context of limitations.  Learn more about group policy and how you can use to restrict access and functionality may be to the point where individual accounts are acceptable and users cannot change anything which might affect other users.

  I'm a Flex newbie, so this question may seem silly to some. I created a few mxml components for my project and I would like to know what are my options to call these components. I know that I can put in a viewstack and bind it with buttonbar or linkbar to call these components, but can I call a component since we are going to say a button link. To further simplify my question, how Flex deals with the notion of HTML ordinary page navigation?

  I want to trigger an event to a class and listening to the other.  There are several examples on the net but I don't really understand them.  Can someone explain please how can I get the value of newTextInput in the lower class on the evolution and pick it up in another class.

  You need to understand the basics of the custom events, please read the Adobe LiveDocs page:

  So create a custom event and make the event type 'myEvent '.

  Can have a property of the custom event to the value of newTextInput.

  Your other class listens for the event and accessing the property of the event object that contains the value ofnewTextInput.

  You may need to add the event listener to systemManager:

• Problem displaying Japanese characters

  I want my application to have the large font 'Lucida'. Because I'm not sure that every platform has installed locally, I joined it.
  I created a swf with Flash CS3, as is explained in the tutorial. (To find the tutorial for "Embedding fonts from SWF files" look in Google.)
  I added ALL the characters. The result is a swf file ~ 900 KB.
  
  I incorporate my policy in Flex using:

• Flex grid: width changes automatically if vertical scrolling policy is 'on '.

  Using Flex 4.1

  I have a grid with vertical scroll policy 'on' I want to make the scroll bar vertically to be shown always. But when I start to add the grid lines, the width of the grid continues to increase to 15 (width of the scrollbar?). I stuck a very simple application below where this behavior is seen.

  No idea why this is happening? Am I missing something to mention?

  There was a bug with vertical scroll policy (http://www.nbilyk.com/flex-scrollpolicy-bug), but it's horizontal scroll bar appearing when the vertical scroll bar is needed instead of content control. It says nothing about the increase in bandwidth.

  There may be a simpler solution, but you could send the data grid data to a server, perhaps with a file that defines how you want Excel columns and lines. Then, the server can run a Perl script using the module Win32::OLE for create the Excel file.

  You create a new Excel file like this:

  And then you use other constructions Win32::OLE to create lines and columns.

  Looking for American Typewriter fonts info, there is nothing that says you can or you cannot - therefore a question of "lack of restriction = OK" or "lack of OK = restricted '? You must be precise when dealing with lawyers. : PEI

• Timeout server serving socket policy file

  I have a Flex application that uses a XMLSocket to talk to a server socket on the local machine (localhost).
  
  For various reasons, I can not configure a server socket on port 843 (because the server socket is embedded in a desktop application, and not all users have access to the root that is required to listen on this port). BTW, if I * use this server on port 843, everything works fine. But like I said it is not an option for the deployment.
  
  My java socket server is a little slow, because for each new request, it starts a new thread. The result is:
  
  WARNING: Timeout on xmlsocket://127.0.0.1:4444 (for 3 seconds) while you wait for the socket policy file. This should be no problem, but see http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files for an explanation.
  Error: Resource request to the xmlsocket://127.0.0.1:4444 by the http://localhost:8080/play/play.swf applicant refused due to lack of policy file permissions.
  
  However... If instead of my server java, I have replace the server python, available here:

  I got it works... I still don't know exactly what the deal was. Something in my political server implementation differs enough implementation of python that the flash player grabbing behind the scenes of the policy file did not work. I think that it is considered a bug in flash player, but I don't have time to gather all the details now.

  What I did to make it work was:
  (1) used the implementation of the policy server from here:

  (2) modified to have the server strategy running on port 6667.
  (3) slightly modified the policy file that is sent by this server, add this line above the line 'allow-access-from:

  (4) changed my flex for this code before you try to connect to the socket:

  Your problem is with your carrier. They cancelled all guaranteed and forfeited all rights to the service by Apple when they replaced the screen with a counterfeit. Talk to them on this subject.

• Flex 3-1580 - no mode/tablet pc automatic mode switch

  Hey guys,.

  I bought a Flex 3 1580 a week ago. I reformatted the computer because the video drivers have been screwed up, but now when I flip the laptop around tablet mode, nothing happens. The keyboard is Cancel and all, but I no longer get the small pop up asking me if I want to spend. I tried to go in the settings of the Tablet and say things to switch automatically without asking, but it does not work.

  I wondered if maybe I missed a big piece of the software once I reformated because it worked perfectly before, but I have reinstalled all available on the lenovo Web site and nothing helped.

  I tried Googling this problem again and again but I can never find answers, especially for this particular model.

  Really would appreciate help with this. It's not a huge deal because I can swith manually, but it would certainly be nice to have to work as before.

  Wanted to update because I think that I thought about it. The support of yoga page has drivers for 'control mode yoga' which is supposed to be responsible for controlling the automatic modes.

  Figured why not try it on the flex, and everything works as it should now. Not sure why Lenovo does not include drivers on the flex support page.

• Beware of the refund policy for the electronic funding/e-gift card from HP

  I recently bought a dv6t and looked forward to happen. This computer arrived damaged and I had to send it back immediately. The exchange of treatment was so painful and frustrating it is doubtful I will be never buy another product from HP. I used a combination of HP credit card ($1000 credit limit) and electronic gift card to make the purchase. The reason why I used a gift card was my total purchase exceeded the credit limit of $1000 and HP would not take a credit card (credit or debit) to complete the transaction. I was told that my ONLY recourse was to buy and ask for a gift card from HP. After arrival with the computer screen damage I decided that I wanted a full refund because the audio was also very poor and I didn't like how this computer sounded at all. I was told that I was obliged to complete the transaction with the gift voucher is NOT REFUNDABLE! I felt that I was being held hostage as my gift card was over $500. I think it's a totally fraudulent way of doing business and for my part will think very hard never to do business with HP again. It's a shame because I've always liked the HP product and I have been a loyal customer for many years, having spent thousands of dollars at HP. I was ashamed of HP for the way they dealt with my problem. I was told that I could still use the e-gift card that I was "stuck" that now for other HP products. Why would I do this after getting scammed by buying the e-gift card in the first place. I finally finished and re - placed an order for a 2nd laptop, but this will probably be my last relationship with HP. They are a great company to deal with until something is not, then the customer may be left holding the bag or in this case, the e-gift card!

  HP DISCLAIMS ANY form of additional funding other than a gift card from HP when the purchase involves HP E-financing credit card. In other words, if I use my credit card of HP and I have enough line of credit for a transaction, the ONLY other form of funding that they will pay the difference is a gift card from HP. No Visa, no Master Card, not American Express, etc... Gift card ONLY. Believe me, I've exhausted this issue in detail. The only combination accepted when you use your credit card of HP is a HP combination of gift cards / credit card. You can combine nothing else than a gift card with their E-financing (credit card of HP). No more credit cards not authorized HP gift card/cheque ONLY.  It was my point worldwide and is the reason why I think it's a way to get the customer to 'use' a gift card.
