  My new Apple TV remote loses its charge when idle for a few days. I was sure to leave load for at least 9 hours, as suggested. It only is not heavy use until the battery goes down.

  I have never accused mine when I had and used it for about a week.  No problem.  It seems that something is wrong with your charger or the battery of the remote control.

The current problem is that the application crashes after the homepage with Harden, Curry, and Davis players featured. I was already seen this problem on all my apps, but has found a way to download a free app and "reactivation" of my account with the App Store.   I have the same problem with my Apple TV4. The game was launched until the update for Apple TV IOS10.
  I paid money for the game and now the it anymor s works do not :-(

  ALMOST everything MY Gen 4 Apple TV can do. He turns on the TV and can control the volume of my audio receiver via IR

  Then why the hell can we use the same IR function to activate the receiver as on and off so?

  Looks like a fairly simple function that would be pretty easy to impliment through IR control sampling as is the volume control. And then just implement that Protocol in the sleep unit as is the HDMI control.

  Oh & the Remote App should really be able to send a command to sleep for Apple TV

• Apple TV Remote broke right out of the box

  So I get all excited on my new apple TV.  While I'm implementing on the ground plug control box I put the remote on a chair next to me and hit the Chair and the remote hit the ground.  It had never been used and is now cracked.  How can we if fragile a remote control and how can a remote be half the cost of all the Apple TV system.  Just doesn't seem fair.  Guess I'm $ 70 for a new remote.  Is there another remote solution out there?  Is there a way to protect the remote control?  Could you please add a warning on the package so that people are aware of the fragility of this unit is?

  I see now after researching the topic that I'm not the first to this experience.  Please let me know if Apple will provide some form of compensation for this kind of accident.

  We are users like you here, for the most part, not Apple.

  You've been unlucky I'm afraid and there is really no different from a new iPhone drops and it cracking if you think about it - at least in this sense is not Apple fault so naturally, you don't want to drop a phone new or old for that same reason.

  I would be surprised if Apple would compensate you for being clumsy - I do mean that badly - I dropped my remote Siri repeatedly and were probably lucky that it won't break.

  Are you sure that the remote control has not been damaged before he fell?

  You can use an old silver AppleTV remote but it would not have the touch surface.

  Frankly Apple are a bit stingy are not - it would cost peanuts to provide looping protection with the remote control.  (The kind of things that you got with the free Wii controllers).

  3. If you have an older remote from a previous model MacBook or Apple TV, you can use to restore the Apple TV, which, in many cases, has been sufficient to reactivate the remote Siri. You must complete all upward to undertake a restoration.
  4. If you have a USB cable - C you can try to restore by connecting it to iTunes on a computer.
  5. If you have tried all of these steps, don't have a distance sooner or a USB - C cable or their use is too inconvenient, return it to the store where purchased for a replacement, or to couple for you.

  My question is reversed for most apple tv remote pairings out there. I want to disable pairing my aluminum away from my apple tv. Settings > general > Remotes > disable pairing. It says that I have no paired successfully on the remote and I have tried a few times, but the remote control itself still control the apple tv.

  Deactivation of the twinning of the remote control will not stop it control the Apple TV, it will allow just other remotes to control it as well.

  If you don't want that away to be able to control the Apple TV, you need to pair a different remote with Apple TV.

  Recently, my husband bought our second Apple TV, an upgrade of the first edition, we have purchased four years ago. We are customers of long-time Apple and have always possessed several Apple products. We both like the updates to the new Apple TV with the exception of the remote control. There are a few things we don't like about the design. First, our remote fell of the couch on a ceramic tile floor and broken glass. Accidents happen, and I dare say that it is going to be a lot of unhappy customers when they abandon their distance and it crashes. I will say that if the remote was dropped on the carpet he probably have come out unscathed. The remote control fell to the back of the sofa at a height of about three feet. I think that the remote control must be able to survive a fall like that or maybe Apple could consider designing a case or neoprene as the channel to the remote control. The other complaints we have are things that we have learned to adapt to. Remote ginning glass is well issue and because Apple products are on the pricey side (I had to replace a laptop charge cord twice - $80 a pop - compliments of our puppy) we have not yet checked the cost of replacement.

  Yes. It is a delicate user in my opinion not the real world tested. There are other posts on the topic, and I saw the new cases that occurred just as we have for our other handheld devices.  I think Siri remotes are also about $80...

  I will also mention that the old Apple TV remotes work with the new ATV as well - except Siri.  In fact, I use remote money or my universal remote control harmony more than the included remote control of Siri (I can't find Siri on tvOS it useful - still).

  My new Apple TV remote suddenly stopped working, I plugged into the adapter and then the apple popped up TV "device disconnected.  It seems that I fried it when I plugged it in.

  I have tried all troubleshooting techniques suggested such as:

  1. turn on Apple TV

  2. hold down the menu and the volume button up for 5 seconds, while 3 inches in front of the Apple TV

  3 try to connect via bluetooth.

  4 plug the remote into the charger.

  None of these techniques worked.  I think that the thing is fried somehow.

  Any suggestions?  I have a warranty, do you think I can send just to the remote folder in Apple (not the apple TV with her) and get a new one?

  Maybe that's a problem with the Apple TV rather than with the remote control.

• Apple tv remote and my mac mini

  I have recently set up a TV and use it for my mac mini, as well as my apple tv.  The apple TV remote seems to exploit both the apple tv and mac mini.  I'm trying to find a way to stop the operation of the mac mini remote control.  I matched the remote with apple TV, but it still seems to cause of my mac mini leave the sleep and open iTunes so I'm trying to browse my apple tv apps and look at something.

  I checked the settings on my mac mini and is States there is 'no distance not matched' with the computer, then, how can I stop the operating distance of the computer?

  Welcome to the Apple community.

  If you don't want to use a remote control with your computer, the best thing to do is just turn off the IR. (System preferences > Security > general, click on the Advanced button in the lower right corner - if the button is dimmed, click the lock icon and enter your administrators password)

  If you want to continue using your remote computer, then you must match your remote computers with the computer AND the Apple TV remote with Apple TV.

  To match a remote control with a device hold down menu and FF buttons together for six seconds or until you see an icon of the chain on screen (better take the computer in another room, or turn it off, when you do)

• Apple TV remote is broken and is too Fragile

  Somebody else broke their Apple TV remote Siri with the 4th generation unit? This thing is too fragile and needs to be addressed.

  I was sitting on my couch and pushes, the slippery remote slipped on my couch and on the floor of 2 feet. He completely broke the touchscreen on the remote control. Pretty ridiculous. Now, I need to spend $80 on a new remote? No thanks...

  It is a beautiful design of remote use, but the real world has not taken into account. I had remote controls 20 years ago that I dropped, trampled and thrown, and they work fine. Apple needs to review this issue and realized that abuse remotes take. A 2 ft. all on a floor should not cost you $80.
