An OEM key still works on a computer that has had a hard past?

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook PC g6-1d21dx that was originally installed with Windows 7 Home Premium. However, the HDD started acting funny, so an SSD has been put in his place and Windows 8 has been installed on it. However, now I want to go back to Windows 7 Home Premium. However, I heard that the hardware configuration of the computer has been changed (via the hard disk), the OEM key (which I still have), would not take. It's going to work or it will not? Thanks in advance.

Hello:

If all you have changed, it was the hard drive, you should have no problem installing W7 on your SSD and using product key OEM on the bottom of your laptop computer to activate the installation.

The only time that you will have a problem, that is if the motherboard has been replaced.

Microsoft a new motherboard = a new PC and then if you did not replace the motherboard with the same PC initially provided with, then you need a new license/product key.

Here's a nice article on how physical changes affect activation... While it was drafted on the basis of XP, the process has not changed.
