  Speaking of RMAN it is confusing to use the term parallelism and threads.

  On the contrary, the correct terms are:

  channel is a pipe to a physical output device. If you have several physical output devices, so you can have several channels simultaneously running. Each channel is associated with a session.

  maxfilesopen (IE multiplex) corresponds to the maximum number of simultaneous files that can be read simultaneously for a channel. No matter how many files by channel multiplexing - there is still only 1 session / channel. By default the multiplex = 8 files per channel.

  filesperset is simply the maximum number of files that can be written in a backupset. Unsaved files are written in an another backupset. Default = 64 files per set.

  I would like to integrate VBAI inspections in our high level LabVIEW application. However, due to the limits of performance, I need to use all 4 cores of the computer processor. I investigated the possibilities of inspections by ActiveX VBAI running. If I understand correctly, at the same time I can have only one target connected and the target can have only one open inspection. This means running parallel inspection is not possible. Am wrong me or is there anyway how to achieve parallelism?

  It turns out that it is indeed expected behavior. The only thing I can recommend is to somehow combine inspections into one (using logic in the State where machine).

  Hello, first post here. I am very new to labview (less than 2 weeks) and I'm currently learning C++, so I don't have a ton of experience shows. I work with a research group in a summer internship, and I am currently working on writing the code for a ferromagnetic ressons experimentation. Currently, my code is at a point where everything works fine except for my diet. I use the official drivers, the problem is that these drivers turn great as a standalone since they can operate continuously. When I use the driver in my code it starts to run, and because he technically never ends until I have to turn it off, it keeps the rest of my code to run, which means that I get no data collection.
  How can I use the live feed during execution of the rest of my code for the measures? I need the events you want to synchronize in this order:
  frequency set

  game power (intensity)

  read the voltage

  read x and y values

  read teslameter

  new set of current

  read the voltage

  read x and y values

  read teslameter

  etc.

  If the existing VI has stop code (and should be), it's one of the things that you must change.  Usually in such cases you would only break VI in three parts. The first manages initialization. It will be outside your loop or int that an initialization of the State of a state machine and only runs once. the next section simply defines the power supply output pararmeter (s). It can be called multiple times inside the loop that you pass by the current range. The last part is a stop VI. It defines the output to zero (or other value), disables the output and puts an end to the communication with the power supply.  It will be after the loop or in a State of the state machine downtime.

  Often, it is quite easy to create these three screws because you can simply copy and paste the relevant parts of the original VI.

• Slow parallel with DAQ loops

  Hello guys,.

  I decided to make new thread on very strange problem with the DAQ assistant in one of my loop. There is something wrong with my deffinatelly program, but I have no idea what it is. So I think that my program is really usual and often used. So I have two separate while loops in my program, one is empty in my other one is assistant DAQ. In the DAQ assistant, I want 1 sample on request, I tried this for inputs, the outputs of digital signals and the inputs and outputs of analog signal also. If I start the program, the loop with the DAQ assistant is very slow, I measured it, and it will take at least 3 seconds to make a circle. But when I stop the empty loop, thet loop with the wizard DAQ make a circle by 25ms. So I wonder is this a normal behavior or is it som problem? I use this NI USB-6229, LabView 2010 and Windows XP.   Try to insert a wait of 1 ms in the empty loop.

  The reason for what you see, is that the empty loop uses ALL the CPU power to run, leaving almost no power left for the acquisition of data, or for windows.
  You should NEVER make a loop without protected by a sort of waiting in the loop. Still a little wait will allow windows run another task on the pc that must run.

  I would like to ask for some advice on how to stop the removal of two different signals at the same time. I was able to confirm that they start at the same time (the timestamp on the first call of loop-based) sampling, but the time of waveform for my two signals is very different.  The signal AE samples always on time, but the charge indication always shows about 1.5 to two seconds longer acquisition time.

  I don't see that you need two separate loops. Also skip the timing of software. I'm guessing that causes your boredom.  Simply put the playback in the loop running read NOR-9221-NOR-6221. Perhaps placing them in a framework so both are read before data are written to the file. I think also often extract data from your buffer OR-9221. You read the second pr 500 times buffer. Perhaps the lover to 50 times this pr then. So every time you read the traction OR-9221 10000 samples of memory buffer and the buffer NI 6221 40. And for now just ignore it. Stop your loop then you have run 100 times. Assuming that you read 10000 samples of the NOR-9221 on each iteration will then have read 100 x 10000 samples equal to two seconds of data

• PXI-6704, parallel to the measurement of the resistance

  I'm in show two separate circuit analysis procedures. First of all I would like to provide two pins with current and measure the response of circuit elsewhere, and second, I want to test the total resistance not fueled between those two pins. If I have a current PXI-6704 output wired to the pair of pins and the value 0 output amp, it will interfere with the measure of resistance to these pins (as a parallel resistance) or if it excludes all signals and appear as an open circuit?

  I can use the PXI switch to connect and disconnect the DMM to measure, but test specifications require no supply current through the switch.

  I don't have the equipment to hand, I know it would be the fastest test. We design the test set-up circuit in parallel with the PXI test chassis.

  Thus, the output impedance of your card is 1GOhm, so unless what you measure is huge, so it should appear as an open circuit. I hope this helps!
