Annoying green line glisten under Compaq Cq40 LCD screen

I don't know if it's because of the new BIOS I installed that caused it that I improved F.24 F.30 version and after that all of a sudden there's this green line boring glisten under my LCD... and my temp CPU reaches now to + 60 degrees Celsius, while before upgrading my CPU temp only amounts to 32 degrees Celsius.

I already flashed the BIOS F.30 and now he's back to F.24 the temp went down, but the green line which sparkle under my LCD screen is still there... I checked the new updates to the graphics card but it says that it is up-to-date. so theBIOS has nothing to do with the flickering line after all I thought that it was caused by the high temperature. Haven't bought my laptop in Singapore in February this year no problem until this one

BTW, my laptop is a Compaq CQ40 319TU with Vista Home Premium OS license.

@ Topz25 I brought to the HP service center, it's a hardware problem, they replaced the LCD screen and they didn't charge me a dime no problems yet so far

  • Pink/green line on the edge of the screen when the crossfade to and from black transitions

I've seen this posted as a known bug in first, but I have not found a decent solution for it.  Here's a screen Cap what it looks like:

    Pink Line cap.jpg

Note the pink verticle line on the right side of the frame. It happens when I am exporting out of the timeline in a different format - it doesn't look like this in the timeline panel. I did some tests and it seems that do that when:

    (A) it is fading to black or black - cross-dissolution of one video to another do not do

    and

    (B) the output video is 16:9 wide screen

This does not happen when I create a HD video and it happens when it's a video SD card in aspects "D1/DV NTSC (0.9091).

    Thoughts?

I want to highlight a number of things here:

    • From my experience, I don't have a card CUDA, so I guess I use the Mercury playback engine. However, I always get a pink line using the Adobe Media Encoder. If I just export directly from first, I don't understand.
    • All my patterns are exported to 1280 x 720 or 856 x 480, which are divisible by 4.

Given these two points, I tend to say that the problem is with SOUL and must be resolved by Adobe. Use an opacity instead of transitions is all just silly - we used transitions in digital bouquets of editing for years, so it shouldn't cause pink pixels.

  • Crash of Vista, graphic error, green lines and broken at the start lines.

OK, maybe complicated I don't know.

Occasional at startup, my screen will be covered in white or green lines and will prevent windows to start so I have to manually turn my pc and turn it on again.

At first, it was just a problem visually but now its my PC randomly crash. The dotted green line will suddenly appear all over screen of, freeze my PC and I have to restart again.

It's random, it is not the case whenever I turn on the PC but when it does it is a pain.

Any information you can give me would be great

    Hello, daz18

This seems to be either a driver, or more likely a hardware problem. Errors that distort the screen you describe is extremely rare with only software.

Check with the manufacturer and make sure that you have the latest video drivers for your computer.

Try to run the memory diagnostics tool: click Start, type memory in the search box and open the Diagnostic tool memory and choose whether you want to restart now or later. After the restart of the tool must be running and then windows starts to tell whether or not it finds problems.

I'm afraid there is a problem with the LCD screen or electronics, the LCD screen at the wheel.  You will need to Contact HP for service.  You can check the warranty of your printer here if you no longer have the receipt.

  • Re: Satellite A500 - 15 M - blue vertical line appears on the LCD screen

Hi - I turned on my laptop the other day (I have an A 500 - 15M) and I noticed a very thin dotted vertical blue line running through the centre-right of the screen of my computer, all the way up and down.

I tried things like change the desktop theme, screen settings, updated to the intel drivers but nothing is done, it won't go away. Does anyone have a solution or a similar problem? I bought an extended warranty of 3 years so could still call Toshiba and ask them about it, but wanted to see if there was a quick fix here of someone.

I tried to restore to a previous restore point, but nothing helped.

Help please, because it is very annoying!

    Thank you very much!

    Hi bilal1982,

Hmm, it seems to be a hardware malfunction with your laptop

I mean that if you tried to update the driver display and restored Windows to an earlier point, but without success, it seems that the graphics card or LCD screen is defective.
You can connect an external monitor to check if it of the graphics card or internal LCD screen.

But in both cases you should contact a provider authorized in your country. Guys can fix your laptop under warranty, so it of free for you.

Here is a list of aspic, where you can search:

    Good luck! :)

  • Red/green line on screen of laptop

So, whenever we go out, my family put my laptop under a couch to hide. This has been done several times, and this time when I pulled it out and opened it, there was a vertical green line on the screen... I lifted the laptop and thought maybe something underneath was loose, then a red line appears beside that green...

Anyone have any ideas on what is wrong? The lines are still there, for two days. I don't drop it or anything, but just maybe I put him on the ground too hard. I searched on the internet and get the results of "broken screen", "broken video card", "Reinstall video card", "some things are cowards"... no idea what to do. If anyone have experienced this, please help!

My laptop is Compaq Presario A900, is told by the way. Had for about... 2 years. Or less.

    Looks like this:

and no, I didn't sit on it or drop it, ever. This is why I still don't think that the cables of the screen are screwed or the screen is broken. Other problems, perhaps? Thank you.

    Hello

1TS restart to ensure that nothing works to influence the following process.

Change the resolution of your screen to a little lower - OK. Change for a bit higher than it was (all the way)
the lines change their locations or they stay in the same place? If they stay in the same place then it
There's a chance that the screen has been damaged. You can reset the resolution as desired.

    Now this

Control Panel / Device Manager - graphics cards - writing down of the brand and complete model of the device.
Double-click it and write the version - now click on update drivers (this could do nothing as MS is
far behind certification pilot) - now do a RIGHT CLICK on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT which will refresh
    the driver stack.

Then go to system Maker and get the latest drivers (or the same if not more recent ones) - download - SAVE-
go to where you put - top - right click RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT.

Start - type in the search box - MSCONFIG will find at the top of the list right click - RUN AS ADMIN.

General tab - note what settings are there now - select Diagnostic startup - APPLY / OK - REBOOT

Are the lines still there? If this isn't the case, then you have a program or service starting up causing their.

  • Satellite A505-S6965 - LCD screen displays vertical lines

In April of this year 2010, my lcd started showing multicolored vertical lines on the right 2/3 of the screen. Toshiba repaired under warranty, but the problem returned last week. Today by phone Toshiba said that they do not guarantee their work, so I am facing a $400 repair if I want it fixed.

After the previous repair that I have not received any indication of what the problem was, only that they have replaced the LCD screen, or how to make so that it does not happen. So now I still don't know why the screen is not working and am stuck with a laptop, I want to pay for repair without any assurance that it won't happen again.

Anyone has any ideas on what I can do other than buying a new laptop?

    Hey Buddy,

If your laptop is still under warranty, and the screen is not cracked, the authorized service provider will repair your mobile phone for free (warranty).

Generally screen LCD and other parties can always get faulty, it can happen with any laptop / manufacturing because he s one part electric and sensitive.

So you should ask your authorized service provider if your laptop is under warranty.
If this isn't the case, you must pay for repairs.

  • How can I fix lines horizontal randomly and glitter for the LCD screens for HP Pavilion dv5 Vista?

How can I correct random lines horizontal and glitter for the LCD screens for windows vista HP Pavilion dv5? Only, it happens randomly and can get all a few minutes at a time every few hours. The entire screen white and black and horizontal lines will appear during the flickering on the half top of the screen only. Nothing else changes. My sound is immutable, and none of my screens change the size or location. However, they may appear up and down during the flashing. Can someone give me an idea of what is wrong? I looked on Google for possible corrections, but most of them seem to be for refresh rate and I don't have a notch for this and can't change it according to the steps they offer.

Read my initial response on what it takes to please.

    "See if this helps you:

These lines indicate corruption graphics driver or lack of graphic material.

Go to the HP Web site > Search a drivers and download article > search your laptop model number > your operating system > drivers for it: either video / graphic / Chipset (according to the wording it) > download and install the drivers.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

If that fixed it, it seems to me be a problem of graphic material.

Because it's a laptop; If under warranty, contact HP.

If is not under warranty, contact a repair shop, local. »

  • Black horizontal lines on the LCD screen at a specific time during the start and stop

Hi, I am currently using a Presario CQ61 Notebook PC.  My problem, as indicated in the title, are black lines on the LCD screen, apparently when the screen is reset or enclose itself turned off during the start and stop only. From the judgment, he produced a split second her stops the hard drive, after that the screen is black. The lines and then quickly disappear. At startup, lines appear after the Windows logo has passed and the screen went from black to start loading the login screen.

The LCD is in perfect condition, all using the PC. No line, no discoloration, etc.. Nothing extraordinary either. The problem does occur only during these two periods, specifically. I am also unable to note the lines when I'm looking directly at the screen. I have to be standing next to the PC, at an angle.

Now, I had this PC for a considerable amount of time, however, I never paid much attention to the screen when starting upwards or stop, so this could definitely be something that the laptop has done since I bought it. I also read on similar problems, and it could be an outdated video driver or BIOS.

I want to just make sure that it is not a major problem. Thank you all!

I looked everywere in my computer, but they are not found

I bet that you have selected the folder Adobe Bridge CC or CS6, and it would be in there under Program Files/Adobe/or Program Files (x 86) / Adobe /.

Move to... in the file Explorer apply only to records not the bridge program.

You open Bridge and Photo Downloader allows you to move pictures from your SD card in the deck (also called import)

  • SPDIF out on Compaq CQ40-122AX

I have a Compaq CQ40-122AX, running VISTA home basic sp1.

There IDT High Definition Audio built in and a HDMI output. He also says that it will be an available SPDIF output using a HP/Dock. Now, I'd like to use the SPDIF output, but I am reluctant to by the docking station for £200 as advertised on amazon. In the options for the Soundsetup there is a definition available also SPDIF.

IDT HD Audio Codec driver version: 1.0.5934.0

For IDT HD Audio DEVICE driver version: 6.0.6000.16386

    Only the input/output Audio/video are:

    VGA

    HDMI

    Headphone 3.5 mm

    Microphone 3.5 mm

I had a browse autour and found that some HP models spdif output available via the Jack 3.5 mm as optics, when the adapter is plugged it activates an LED inside and that it moves the optical signal to the Toslink cable.

Adapter cable and optical at Maplin

My question is, the SPDIF is accessible on my model of laptop CQ40-122AX with this configuration without the HP docking station or could there be another way? Since there is not in there, it must be possible to access it somehow, and the docking station just seems too expensive to make sense.

    Look forward to hearing responses.
