Another problem of Spry Menu/Internet Explorer

Firefox and Safari display very well my spry menu. Not the same with Internet Explorer.
Any suggestions? USCHT

Hello

I'm afraid that's not so much a question of spry.
The spry CSS has been published and there is lack of a few things like having
some things in the wrong place now.
There are errors in your CSS.
There is a problem with your HTML code allowing the problem IE the area in full expansion.
In addition, to increase the size of the text in FireFox (ctrl + +) and you will see the page
breaks apart.

Here's the code broken in your sections
(Notice the comment ended up between the class and the support and the a tag
... missing a cut and paste error?) :

UL. MenuBarHorizontal / * Menu items are a light grey block with padding and
no text decoration * /.
UL
{
display: block;
cursor: pointer;
background-color: #431F45;
Padding: 0.5em 0.5em;
text-decoration: none;
}

Go back to the way it was originally and then change the colors in your
so, it looks like this:

/ * Menu items are a light grey block with padding and no text decoration * /.
UL. MenuBarHorizontal a
{
display: block;
cursor: pointer;
background-color: #431F45;
Padding: 0.5em 0.75em;
text-decoration: none;
}

Then, change this:
UL. MenuBarHorizontal ul. MenuBarSubmenuVisible
{
left: auto;
}

Return to:

UL. MenuBarHorizontal ul. MenuBarSubmenuVisible
{
left: auto;
top: 0;
}

Then note how comments say fixed-width, but auto has been used.
Implement than the back:

/ * Container of menu items are same fixed width parent * /.
UL. MenuBarHorizontal ul li {}
Width: 8.2em;
}

Then get rid of self again by changing this line:

/ * Submenus should appear under their parent (top: 0) with a higher z-index,
but they are first the left side of the screen (-1000em) * /.
UL. MenuBarHorizontal ul {}
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
list-style-type: none;
do-size: 100%;
z index: 1020;
cursor: default;
Width: 8.2em;
position: absolute;
left:-1000em;
}

And get rid of the car, once more, by changing this back to:

/ * Menu item containers, children of the position relative to this container and
are a fixed width * /.
UL. MenuBarHorizontal li {}
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
list-style-type: none;
do-size: 100%;
position: relative;
text-align: left;
cursor: pointer;
Width: 8th;
float: left;
}

Note also the font sizes are changed to 100% on the bar menu li and
submenu li...
You already reduce the police to 80% in the main AMT, so using 80% again on
the elements within the AMT, you essentially said 80% of 80%.
Who was the tilt things in Internet Explorer. I think it's hard to keep track, but it
appears to set the offset drop down lists.

Now, in your CSS change the body and this envelope:

{body
background-color: #FFFFFF;
do-family: "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
text-align: center;
}
{#wrapper}
margin: 0px auto;
padding: 0;
background-color: #000000;
Width: 800px;
text-align: left;
}

Moreover, now you can remove all the font family: "Times New Roman"
Times, serif; throughout your CSS as they will all inherit it body.

Then, in your CSS, solve this problem by removing the float or giving him a
direction. :

#footer {}
float:
Width: 800px;

Then, change this:
{p}
do-family: "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
color: #FFFFFF;
do-size: 14px;
text-align: left;
left margin: 7px;
right margin: 2px;
}

to do this:

{p}
color: #FFFFFF;
do-size: 14px;
margin: 2px 2px 7px;
}

Then, in your code, get rid you of all between them the words in the spry
menu, such as here:

  • Who are we

  • href = "#" > 2005 USCHT targets

    Tourism Summit

    There is more that I have seen.
    Once they are gone, you will have the expanding box problem in Internet Explorer.

    Now get an overview of the page.
    The menu can be a bit off but which is caused by the amount of text that you are
    try to fit in this field.
    "You can give the different li single width, so that you can make: home ' not as
    wide and then do the '2005 USCHT objectives. "
    Tourism Summit"a large button and so immediately (or simply change of objectives).
    You can make the smallest font size (only not by changing size % in the submenus)
    but by changing the font size in the main AMT)
    Or, you can re - thinking the layout of link.

    Take care
    Tim

      As osgood_ said, the conflicting CSS rules. In addition, IE usually has a problem with the treatment of the float attribute, so if you can not fix this way, you might consider working with margins and padding and relative implementation of your DIVs.

    • A Web site will appear as text only, no html, links do not work. Not such a problem with Chrome or Internet Explorer.

      On two laptops running Firefox 39.0, I can't access the website tripadvisor.com. I only get the same screen of text all the time where no links do work, not html. Screen attached. This problem does not occur with Chrome or Internet Explorer.

      Sorry Kenny. Let's that degrade.

      Disables the Mode without failure of Firefox extension, so it is better to look at those to see if everything could be change how Firefox displays pages. I pointed out how to get to this section of the Add-ons page in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1075685#answer-763481

      If you are not sure whether your extensions could be the problem, you can disable those which are not essential and see if that makes a difference.

      Or you can copy and paste a list of your extensions on the support information page. To be open, use:

      • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
      • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
      • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

      Scroll down to the Extensions section and you can select and copy the table below it. It will look a little messy when stuck, but don't worry, we're used to that.

      COR - el mentioned a userContent.css file. It's a handmade optional settings file to change sites appear in Firefox. Unless you created it yourself, you have probably not it, but you can check by opening the folder to your profile (settings).

      To do this, start on the page of support information (see procedure above). In the first table on the page, click the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

      You see a folder named chrome? If this isn't the case, you do not have a userContent.css file.

      If you do not see a folder named chrome, double-click inside and see what you find there.

      COR - el has also mentioned the feature to forget this Site. Sometimes Firefox stores the cache entries, cookies or the specific preferences that are difficult to remove by other means. Forget this Site everything that Firefox has stored rubs on the site of history to save passwords and bookmarks. It sometimes helps to problems that have no other explanation.

      The plug-in may not work well in Firefox because you are using an older version of Adobe Reader.

      Please note that there is currently a security breach uncorrected in Adobe Reader that is actively exploited by criminals.

      You need to uninstall Adobe Reader unpatched software and install one of the PDF readers alternatives to its place as long as product Adobe is fixed, although you may find you like other products all also, or more.

    • Accordion Spry in Internet Explorer 6 - Panel visibility

      I am totally in love with the ease of Dreamweaver and these sprys I couldn't do my eyecandy fantasy without her stuff.

      Unfortunately, I have to ensure that our grandmother Internet Explorer 6 works with my page.

      I have a spy accordion and I removed all the colors and put it in a div that has a background image.

      When you click on a tab and a Panel then slips as he slips in FF or IE7/8, the text of the Panel unfolds gradually.

      In IE6, the text of the Panel turns immediately, and then slide it towards the bottom of the action happens.  Similarly, when you close the sliding action comes first, then the text panel disappears.  Like I said it only happens with IE6.

      I'm wondeing what I need to do to solve this problem.  I'm sorry but I don't have a live version of my page.

      Make sure you use the latest version of spry (v1.6), because this fixed a lot of problems.

      You can get the latest version here - http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/

      It may also be worth including the correction of js for IE, you can get it here - http://code.google.com/p/ie7-js/

      This page also includes details on how to insert the code (I recommend downloading the js file and directly linking from your site).

    • Having browser problems - how to install Internet Explorer?

      I just bought a new computer hp laptop, but couldn't access my website of the Bank.  Tech at Best Buy downloaded Google Chrome and removed original internet and that solved the problem.  Now, when I go into games MSN I get now an error message saying this: your browser or your operating system does not meet the minimum requirements to play on MSN Games. Before that technology is changing my internet system I was able to play these games. Is there a solution to this problem? Download microsoft windows, although when I hit the download I get a message that it will damage the computer.  Any suggestions out there?

      Why do you want to download ms windows? Did you mean to say ms explore? This should not be a problem make sure just that you match the correct version of the Explorer of your windows operating system.

      You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

      You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

      • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
      • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
      • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

      Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.

      "Clear the Cache":

      • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

      'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

      • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

      Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

      This root killer Webroot suggested?

      Are you going to provide the other requested information (requested) on your system and if not, why not?

      Did you run the scans listed in my previous post and if not, why not?  I am reluctant to work on weird problems with XP if MBAM and SAS have not been executed.

      So far, I never saw a Microsoft Support Engineer in these forums effectively resolve an error DEP in the 'right' way.  Sometimes, they have some things to try (how that works for you?), but you don't need methods to try, you will need to do things that solve your problem.

      I doubt that you have a memory problem or disk - which is not what causes the DEP errors.

      If you have made any exceptions DEP in XP to try and get your working papers, you must cancel all DEP exceptions to go forward.

      If I've ever seen Windows Explorer crashing and DEP errors, here's what I've done to understand what is happening:

      When the Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) is wrong (especially when right click), begin to suspect third-party add-ons explore extension.

      Those who would be the Explorer extensions that do not belong to Microsoft.  This means that extensions that you have added.  Solution Explorer extensions are generally well and installation of certain applications will install extensions from Explorer solutions for you, give you a choice and sometimes they can be added without your knowledge when you
      install new software.

      Solution Explorer extensions are sometimes added as a new right-click option, you see on folders and files (like the scan of this file, open that file, play this song).

      If there is something in particular that you do during exploration that you know will be the cause of the problem, which will help focus on the problem and the help that you suddenly know, when you have found and corrected.  If you can get there when you want it, make an adjustment and then there is no message the next time you don't do anything, you do, you have found and corrected.

      First of all you need a way to see what modules explore you have installed now and a way to turn them off (not uninstall them) so you can understand that we are at the origin of the problem.  You can have a lot of extensions not installed Microsoft don't even know you about.

      Download ShellExView here to see what Explorer extensions you have loaded:

      http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/shexview.html

      ShellExView does not install anything on your computer, simply of runs and displays.

      After launching ShellExView, under Options, choose "Mark non-Microsoft Extensions" and extensions not Microsoft will be pink, clear, but on some systems which is a difficult color to see, so click on display, choose the columns and move the column Microsoft closer to the top, so you can see on your screen without having to scroll left and right.

      Click on the column header for "Microsoft" sort display (by clicking on the column of Microsoft) if all non-Microsoft extensions (all the 'Our') are on top and easy to see.

      Non-Microsoft extensions would be things you have added (non-Microsoft) and are what you should be suspect.

      You can also Google the name of a suspect add-on and see if there is any success on the mistakes of the DEP and what other people have done about it.
      You can Google something like:

      Explorer XP crashing (you must fill in the name of add your suspect on).

      See what kind of search results hits you get and are looking for solutions or situations that sound like yours.

      I'm not a defender of trial and error, but I can't think of another way to do...

      Right click and disable the non Microsoft extensions one at a time (or maybe in groups of 3-5), keep a list, so you can enable them again later if you wish. The result of the change is immediate and no reboot is necessary.  Test your failure condition.  If the Explorer starts to behave, you will know that an extension of this group of 3-5 is the culprit in order to start to enable them one by one until the Explorer fails again.

      If you recognize all the extensions that have been added or recently downloaded, start with these first.

      Disabling the extension does not uninstall the extension - it is just disabled.

      Disable them one at a time until your right click on do not generate an error, then restart and test again.  You have disabled the last extension would be suspicious.

      You can also just disable all non-Microsoft extensions, restart and allow them one at a time until you find the one that generates the condition.

      If you have a large number of extensions, you can disable them is small groups, 3-5 at a time instead of 1 at a time until your system starts to behave.  When it does not, you will know that the problem is one of the extensions of this small group and you can enable members of the Group at a time until the problem returns, then the problem is with the last extension that you enabled.

      The hope is that you will find an extension that caused the error, and then you can figure out what on this subject - either uninstall it or see if you can get an update of the author of the extension of their web page.

      I have not your problem, but I can when you toggle extensions, the extension is immediately disabled, so disable an extension does not seem to require a restart, but if you think that you have found the problem, I reboot and repeat the test in any case to be sure the problem disappeared.

      If you post your non-Microsoft extensions list, maybe someone will recognize it as a potential problem.

      If you find the offending extension that's the problem, please let us know what it is that I can add to my list.

      If complains in Internet Explorer, run Internet Explorer with no Add-ons and see if you still have the problem.

      If Internet Explorer then runs OK with no Add-ons, you can determine what add-on is the cause of the problem.

      Fortunately, Windows has a built in option to run Internet Explorer with no Add - ons (imagine that).

      To start Internet Explorer with no add-on, click on start, programs, System Tools, then choose:

      Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)

      If you can't find that, click Start, run and enter in the box (or copy/beyond the next line):

      "C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe"-extoff

      Click OK to start IE with no Add - ons.

      IE will launch with a message reminding you that it runs with no Add - ons and ask you to click on the button Home (do) and then you can visit the web pages where you might think that you will get a DEP error.  Pages may be different, but you want to see if you still get the DEP error message or not.  You can then activate the Add-ons one at a time until find you the one that is causing problems.

    • Spry menu bar: problems in IE and Firefox

      Hello! This is my first time writing the forum. I tried to fix this site and I'm about to break! I found a lot of help just brwosing here in the past and I hope that somone can point me in the right direction.

      I have validated successfully the site using the W3C CSS Validator thinking which might help, but no go. I tested on the latest version of Firefox for Mac and testing for IE using the Adobe browser lab.

      Thank you very much!

      GRAMPS! Thank you very much. I really, really appreciate your help. In addition to your suggestion I changed all other instances of z-index that relate to the menu bar. I put them all to 10000 (more than the z-index of 1002 on the fadeslideshow.js). Now it works like a charm and is no longer hides behind the fadeslideshow. Yay!

      Thanks to Nancy O. for his suggestion as well. For anyone having problems woth Spry Menu bar in IE and Firefox especialy: The Spry Menu Bar 2.0 version works much better than the previous version.
