Application error handler: "the update server is not responding."

With each attempt to check updates for Creative Suite 5, the Application Manager responds immediately with an error: "the update server is not responding. The server may be offline temporarily, or internet or Firewall setting may be incorrect. Please try again later. "My last check for updates was 27/03/2012.

I haven't added any restriction since 3/27. I do not block outbound communications in my firewall. All communications through all firewalls are functioning normally.

Is there a way to check if the update server is really low?

Perhaps the address of the server has changed. It would not be the first time that a person no - think had this notion: '' this is what we will do, change the IP address of the update server and then unroll the new address in the next update."

For anyone who reads this, simple workaround for this problem on Windows is as follows:

  • Open the Device Manager. To do this, type "device manager" in the search bar of the Start Menu.
  • Open "network adapters."
  • Disable any device driver listed with the name "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter.... ». To do this, right-click the name, and then select "disable."
  • Try updating Adobe Application Manager. This should work for now.

I don't know if the original plan of Microsoft to push the use of this driver in the throat of the Windows 7 certification companies never materialized. So although my internet and network connections remained after I disabled the driver, I recommend the pilot in reactivating once your update is complete.

WARNING: After completing the last updated Adobe, Microsoft Security Essentials is now failing to validate Windows 7 on my computer. By reactivating the above driver did not help. This could be an isolated incident. But you should be aware of the problem I now have much more serious. What a joy!

    I have updates to download, but as soon as I try to download I get server error of update on the Adobe Application Manager screen.  I tried to disable the firewall/Virus software and also changed the W7 and W8 compatibility settings.   The Lightroom program itself works, it seems that the update problem on Windows 10.  I see on the Internet that this same problem of error in previous versions of Windows has been resolved by a virtual network setting is off.  In W10I not find a reference to a virtual network in Device Manager or network settings.  Also, I get the same error when you select a download of update to 13 items.

    I have no problems with updates in W8.1 which leads me to believe that this is a bug W10?

    Finally solved. 2 days trying to sort it out with the help of Rohit, then a clean install of Windows 10 to see the same error.

    However, today I found a Tech website that we open recommended in the properties of my TCP/IPv4 link local connection and change the DNS global settings of favorite 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 replacing.  The server download worked like a charm, two files downloaded and installed.

    I solved the problem. After countless times of updating of Windows 8, uninstalling and reinstalling, I found that my laptop Samsung came with software that would allow me to put a "Mobile Access Point" or in other words a hotspot.

    I followed the instructions on how to disable the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter", but my computer does not display a Miniport Microsoft Virtual Mifi card.

    I knew that this adapter set a hotspot so what I did activate the 'Mobile Access Point"via the samsung software that came with my computer, and then as I expected, he showed the"Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter"and was able to turn it OFF.

    After you turn off, I could see updates without the server update Responing no error.

    Also, after having diabling the "Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter", I went to the Device Manager and the title of the network card, I found that "Microsoft Hosted network virtual card" has been disabled. So for those who don't see not the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport card" you must activate a hotspot first if it will appear or try to disable through Device Manager by disabling "Microsoft Hosted network virtual card"

    If this proves to be a problem with Adobe Application Manager and Microsoft Virtual Wifi adapter. I hope that Adobe will have a fix for this soon because the users of Windows 8 is not the "Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter" visible by default.

I did some research autour and many people are having the same problem, but nobody responded to the real problem. According to Microsoft, I install SP1a to install any other.     Unless the information is wrong on the website, installation of SP3 won't fix it. All responses I've seen to this problem have been installing something you can't until you install first.

    You should be able to download the Service Packs as a standalone installer at the following addresses:

    You don't need to install SP1A.  XP Gold, you must install SP1A or SP2 before installing SP3.  I recommend that you start with SP2 and then SP3.

    Note that this is a laptop that has started on another network with the same problem.  I took it to my office to solve problems.  My DNS server is a WIndows SBS 2003 server.

    Below that is a log file of etl you cannot open (Notepad considers undesirable, much of the use that is).

    The steps I did to try to resolve the problem.

    Virus system scan

    There is no hosts file, I've recreated which.

    The static value IP and DNS.

    I can ping the DNS server by its IP address, but not by name.

    I put the DNS address to 208.67.222.222

    Restored network drivers

    Reininstalled all network drivers

    Disable Microsoft Virtual WiFi adapter

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Method 1:

    Try to reset the DNS cache by using the following steps and check it, if it helps.

    a. Click Start, type cmd.exe in the start search box, right-click on CMD.exe and run as administrator.

    (b) in the command window, type the following and then press ENTER: ipconfig/flushdns

    c. you will see the following confirmation:

    With success, emptied the Cache of DNS resolution.

    Method 2:

    Try the following steps to release and renew the IP address and check if it helps.

    It should work with the server DNS of Vodaphone.  Set the laptop to get its IP & DNS addresses automatically, then make sure that the DHCP Client service is set to automatic startup.
