Application in Labview 2010 Builder

I can build an exe, but he let me only add high level llb labview vi, some of the sub - vi are added because it will be held the 2nd level vi and then it gives me an error when I try to run the 3rd level vi. The problem is that I do not see the Subvi to add them in the library!

OK, thanks, but I inherrited files and massive software upgrade to the version it was written in! A law degree used to be the only way to create applications!

I phoned tech support who have solved my problem. :-)

I created a new project, * led * the llb in 'my computer' in the project and then added the file than the generation of the exe and the support files "always included; If you keep the file names / short files, it works!

I hope that this stops someone else pulling the hair!

  • LabVIEW 2010 - applications and issue of RTE

    Hello

I am currently using LabVIEW 2009 and my company is upgrading to 2010, and I had a few questions on creating applications and their execution on other computers to open the switch.

    (1) computers that don't have that installed LabVIEW 2010 runtime will be able to run applications developed with LabVIEW 2009 (and earlier versions)?

1.1) in the contrary case, we will have to rebuild all of our current programs to use the RTE of 2010?

    (2) Conversely, exes, built in 2010 will be able to run on computers that have the installed 2009 RTE?

(2.1) if not, is there an easy way to downconvert programs written in 2010 so that they run on RTE in 2009?

(2.2) that we will be able to use the new features in 2010 (as the network streaming, export to excel graphs) if we downconvert for 2009?

    3. If rebuild us some applications that were originally written in 2009 us will it install the RTE of 2010 on the target computers, so that they can run the new version of our application?

    Thank you!

    -Nick

Applications created in 2009 should the TENS of 2009.  Similarly, applications created in 2010 must RTE of 2010.

You can install both engines to run on the PC at the same time.  Your .exe will use it is appropriate based on what version it was built in.

  • Thread mode in LabVIEW 2010 bug?

I had an application written in LabVIEW 2009 for a PSC-2220 who stopped working when it was converted in LabVIEW 2010, and I tracked down the problem to one thing: the software sets the mode of the Serial wire. Call this method simply disables all of the program. It works when you run from LabVIEW... but if you build an application to start it will not start. Remove the call to thread mode - and voila, the application runs as it should.

-I can solve the problem easily by calling does not fashion wire method, but this isn't a solution due to the fact that I need to use the RS-422/485 port RS485 2-wire mode.

I found a solution that I can live with... it does not explain what is wrong, but here's what I had to do to be able to run the init.vi serial port from outside vi.lib\Instr\ - which in turn allowed me to add the changes I need (set the thread mode) without having to edit a library function :

I had to flatten, i.e.replace all of its report with their content... I could have tried the inline function, but did manually to be sure.

This may indicate that something is wrong with the binding when the program is compiled with RT... but it happens without producing errors of conflict or anything either. A startup.exe is produced - but is not able to run.

While it is for 2011, I doubt that they decided to remove 64-bit compatibility as they went forward as 64-bit has become more rather than less demand.  In this document, notes LabVIEW Simulation Interface Toolkit does not support 64 bit versions of MATLAB application software."

The extent of the compatiblitly for 32 - bit, I'd take a peek at: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D174674A91E5536286257428005C2426

The OP's question was SIT support 64 - bit version of LabVIEW and 64-bit version of the MATLAB/Simulink itself, not the operating system software.

Document in your second link is on a completely different topic to have API for LabVIEW and MATLAB/Simulink/RTW (well, mostly Simulink & RTW). Here is the relevant link for the 32-bit compatibility: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/049295038FF0EE2A86257A06006B2DAD is no SIT 64-bit.

Other underlying issues is that Pharlap does not have a 64-bit version. Finally, simulations are better performed on some RTOS (embedded PXI) for a deterministic execution rather than PC operating systems.

  • Error 7 when opening the file auto-LabVIEW 2010

I use Open/create/replace file in LabVIEW 2010 to open a text file.  It works fine until I have compile the code.  Then, I get error 7. I tried the paths that are similar to the following, but no doesn't work.

    c:\\file.txt

    c:\\file.txt

    c:\------\file.txt

    Thank you

You must get the path to the .exe file.  Then remove the name of .vi and the .exe.  Then build the path from there to get your .txt file.  The way you have it, you treat the .exe to a folder rather than a file.  The text is no file not part of the .exe, you cannot create a path that includes the name of the .exe.

Why my executable does not work when you use the constant path of the current VI?

  • LabVIEW 2009 Build Path problem

    [Cross posted from LAVA]

I got a code that worked fine on my home PC, when I moved to work, the exe would not build due to errors.

Return errors are not good to explain the problem

    Until I got this one:

Look at the path of the error:

    C:\Users\Developer2\Desktop\User group Meeting\LabVIEW 2009 new features\code\02 intermediate\01 build specifications\build file executable application. exe\LabVIEW 2009\vi.lib\addons\_ICON Library\String\_icon_lib_string.llb 9.0\my paths\dist\application

This path refers to a VI inside of my executable!

Maybe it's a bigger problem than I first thought

    So my question is:

If a path inside my building that would be compared to the executable and LabVIEW must resolve, could fail, this process, depending on where the exe is located in a folder hierarchy?

I guess it could have happened before? but it would be more probable now due to longer paths!

  • Code is compiled separately from LabVIEW 2010

    Hi Ppl,

I came across this interesting feature to separate the code compiled into the default data directory. Is there any document available for the use of this feature. Something like the best practices, compromise, etc.. I think it would be great functionality while working with Source code control. But I couldn't decide to go forward with this feature (worried if this will have an impact on performance).

  • 'LabVIEW 2010'.exe as a windows service running

    Hi all

years, I wrote an application with LabVIEW 7.1 and transformed into a Windows NT Service according to this NOR-tutorial.

Now, I have a similar use case and I wanted to do the same thing with an application built in LabVIEW 2010.

Somehow, it does not work and I still get the error 62.

I built a simple demo application once with LV7.1 and once with LV2010.

I was able to use this service when they built with LV7.1 but not the version of LV2010 (client-side I always used LV2010). He has no problem with the connection to the server or using the port.

I'd rather not rebuilt the app with LV7.1 because it is not really small. I consider that if there is no work around for this problem.

    Anyone any ideas?

    I really appreciate anyone's help

    See you soon,.

As well as information for those who execute it in the same problems:

SC.exe toured BUT not as described in this tutorial. You must create a wrapper function as described on this Homepage. Services created with sc.exe need a BeginService() and an EndService() method otherwise it wont let you install.

This image shows you how I did it. The CIN AnyService.dll of charges that loads server.dll.

It seems that there is something strange going on with your .NET framework, which is the origin of this conflict of driver.  Try uninstalling your current .NET framework as well as LabVIEW (from Add/Remove Programs) and re-setup of the Microsoft .NET Framework page followed by a new installation of LabVIEW.

A few other things to note:

Make sure you have all of your anti-virus software / firewall disabled while trying to install LabVIEW.  We have seen this before due Setup error.

Also, make sure that you install your drivers after installing LabVIEW.

  • Labview 2010 8.1 Windows executables

    Greetings,

My development computer is a Windows 8.1 with LabView 2010 Professional machine. I created a project and published an executable with success. Obviously this works on my development system.

However, I have another machine Windows 8.1 (new installation, nothing about this). First, I installed the runtime Labview 2013 because (a) I thought that it would be compatible for older versions, and (b) it says it supports the Windows 8 operating system. Unfortunately when I tried to run the executable it gives me the following error:

Could not locate the LabVIEW runtime engine.

.. .requires a 2010 version (or compatible) Labview engine of execution. Contact the seller to [name of program] to correct this problem.

Okay, so I uninstalled the runtime of 2013 and restarted. Then I installed 2010 thought that is what it takes.

Gives me the exact same error as above.

I saw similar problems of windows 8, but nothing I could find about it.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

Why install the runtime 2013 when you have an application of 2010? You must also install the appropriate number of bits of the runtime.

Why not simply create an installer?

  • Excel 2010 and labview 2010

I think that this may have been covered, but if anyone noticed all the differences in the properties of the ActiveX or methods in labview when working with excellent 2007 versus excel 2010? I know at one point Microsoft had changed a few things excellent 97-2003 "and instead select 'value' in your method, you must now choose"value 2". Is the real wait even for excel 2010? I am currently using excel 2007 at work and 2000 at home, and when I opened my code at home, my call nodes 'have the wrong son' still all required entries are correct. Same code on excel 2007; lot of son and the code will be run. I'm just curious to know if anyone has tried to use labview 2010 and excel 2010 together and made a work? I'm opening 1 workbook and wrote to 4 different excel sheets using Windows XP, excel 2007 at work and have windows 7 and want to use excel 2010 home and prefers no problem or to all the least know what are potential problems. Sorry if this confusion. I think it's the best way I can explain that I have MY head wrapped around it yet.  I do not want to write the same code twice for different versions of excel. (write and test at home, then re - write at work)

This is an example of what I'm talking about

    Myke,

While I don't have excel 2010 available to try and see, Microsoft (and MSDN) has a huge amount of information about calls in all versions of Excel.

    Excel 2007 development resources: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb979621(v=office.12).aspx

I hope that helps you start, because I don't have access to excel 2010. Let me know if it works for you.

  • Application of Labview card instance

    Hello

Is it possible to choose in which instance of the application, the TestStand LabView adapter works? Or does
always execute in the order of the main application?

    This one our problem:

We have a VI (let's call it VI1) that runs on sbRIO. System is built so that VI1 must work all the time. We want to control VI1 with TestStand through another VI sequence (call the VI2). TestStand sequence turn the knobs in VI2 which must take effect in VI1. Communication is done through queues. Problem seems to be that VI1 runs in the application sbRIO instance but VI2 runs is sequence main application when it is called by TestStand sequence.

Communication works if we let TestStand. If we start first VI1 then VI2 both run in the order of request sbRIO. In this case, we can control VI1 using VI2. This has been verified by turning the knobs in VI2 and observing that he had an effect on VI1.

If there is no way of the app instance select for Labview adapter, which could be another way to handle these cases?

Thank you, any help is appreciated.

    We use TestStand 2010/Labview 2010.

So the sbRIO runs VI1 all the time. And once in a while, you run a TestStand sequence where you want to communicate and VI2 VI1.

I'm not sure about the question of application instance but instead use queues could look on the use of the shared network hosted on the sbRIO Variables?
