  I write various programs to help with the debugging of embedded systems. I often need to convert a value to byte into pieces and then show which of these bits are true/false. This is easily done by using the convert-bool-Bay VI. However, I would like to create a control that will allow me to display a name for each field of bits - a bit like the way records are described in the data sheets. The control must be a bunch of buttons, and then I can show the bits are true/false, and use the label of the button to hold the name of bit field.

  I went from one way to the creation of this feature in an XControl as this seemed the best. My group of updates to Boolean values correctly according to the value of byte brought into control. However, I use a property to set the Boolean control label text (names of bit fields). My debugging shows that the text is assigned to the label of the control, but the control panel never changes. I tried synchronous updates, and by forcing a new drawing of the Panel using DeferPanelUpdates does not.

  I would be grateful for any help on this - VI and XControl demonstrating the issue is attached.

  I have a problem.  I usually program with c#, PHP, html, etc.  try to learn Adobe Flash now so I downloaded the trial version that has 30 days trial.  tried to create and follow the guardian to click ball that all code is the same, but it does not work.

  I triple check the code and its all right, but it still does not.  then I put all the code in comment and has a simple code to modify the text of the label.  I put the text "abcdefg" and but it only shows "cdef".  I have expanded the width of the label if width is not the problem.  try to seek to limit the trial, but I don't see any.  try to test it before you buy it.  Does anyone know why?  Yet once, coding is not a problem, it does not change but doesn't change does not correctly.  I try to set another value it shows always partially only.  What is going on?

  One thing I would do it immediately to make changes in your code, regardless of anything else - hfm one Manager: substitute you fully sublayout, so you don't need to extend HFM. Implement your own getPreferredWidth and getPreferredHeight to be on the safe side and you've got yourself a personalized presentation of fine Manager.

  You have a typo in your setExtent fault - it should probably be setExtent (width, hieghthfm). Your setPosition also made a lot of sense - decide what you really want to be there. It defines the X, Y of the upper left corner of your manager. I'm not sure that you need-your DialogFieldManager should take care of this.

  Finally - check how much width you spend in your layoutChild (Field1,...)-your widfield2 might be too small so that it shows something significant. Don't forget no-ButtonField has its own, relatively complex, on the page, including some padding around the text.

For example, I have a report above group with my columns of data and above the columns, I have my column labels, but I would like to be able to display various text, i.e. different labels according to requirement. In other words, Column1 label could say column 1 or it's Column1, based on a condition. This is Oracle Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2.

  If you use the wizard the column headers are created as fixed text elements. No way to change that.
  So, you have to delete text and replace by fields that use some of the columns in your data as the source model. This is how I create reports all the time. There is never any fixed text, all the text is retrieved in the data model.

  You can also use the format trigger. Simply place the elements of different text on top of the other and return TRUE or FALSE to display the correct label.

  I have a class that extends TreeItemRenderer. I put a Button control in my element converter and set the label on the button, I thought that autosize to fit this label button.  Who is is not the case, I was wondering how or where can I size my button in the sequence of events to draw (IE commitProperties, measure, updateDisplayList).

  I tried all within all three draw button.width = button.explicitWidth or button.width = button.measuredWidth (who sometimes works until the new element converters are exposed).
