As a router E1200 internal (not connected to the internet)?

I want to put a second router inside my router VDSL (new, soon-to-be-installed) provided by my ISP.  Read the E1200 manual I think I can use the 'Internet' to connect to one of the four taken on the cable my ISP router part and give it a fixed IP address that corresponds to the network set to the ISP router.

For example, use 192.168. 0.0/24 for the network between the ISP router and the E1200, and then configure the E1200 to serve the addresses in the 192.168. 2.0/24 (for example).

Have I reason to my understanding of the manual?  I don't want to buy the E1200 and while he's not what I want.

you do not have to set the WAN / Internet of the E1200 on static part. connection of the modem / router on the internet port will provide this information automatically.

What about changing the settings of DHCP server, it should not be a problem. change the local IP address / router IP 192.168.2.1 and the router will be used staring with 192.168.2.100 IP addresses - 192.168.2.149.

I have a HP G60 Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home Premium, it is about 4 years old. I recently got a new Cisco Linksys E1500 wireless router, which is connected to my home computer. My laptop shows that it is connected to the home network, but it does not connect to the internet. Other laptops in the House are able to connect to the network and to the internet. Mine seems to be the only one not working do not. Why it is not working? What should I do about it?

I ran the network diagnostics. It is said "a problem with you network router or modem broadband could prevent an internet connection." I have disconnected these two and tried again. It did not work! I have also connected my laptop directly on the modem and it does not always connect to the internet. I tried to reset the network card. My IP settings are set to automatic.

My internet connection was not a problem before last week (when I got a new router). What is the problem with my computer? Help, please!

    Hello:

If you have an Atheros wireless adapter in your PC and you have not updated the driver, I recommend that you install it.

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3688868&swItem=ob-99392-1&mode=3

Wireless adapters Atheros with former pilots, dislikes the new Linksys routers.

If you have an Atheros wireless card, and your wireless driver is more than 2 years, I am very confident that this will solve your connection problem.

  • Router WRT54G does not connect to the internet during the passage of the modem cable to fios buildings

I recently had need save money and cut off my cable service. Fortunately my building has a service that they lead in all apartments. It's just an ethernet wire that runs into my apt... If I hang the service buildings until dirrectly on my Vista PC or Mac OS 10, it works fine but as soon as I set up the router I get an unable to connect to the internet message on Firefox, IE and Safari.    Ive updated the ware closes on it and Ive reset router noumerous times. IM at a loss.   Would appreciate any help.

Probably, you will need to reconfigure your modem. Here is the procedure.

  • I just installed a new router and now my desktop running Windows XP computer does not connect to the internet.

    Hello

I just installed a new router and now my desktop running xp computer does not connect to the internet. I know that it is not the router because I plugged the cable into my laptop running 7 and it works fine. When I try to dhcp I get 169..., when I put manually the IP just get no access to the internet and can not ping to the router address. I tried to run the net work Assistant, emptied my dns, disabled all firewals, still nothing.
    Any suggestions?
    original title: connectivity Limeted

The zero configuration utility works very well. But it is a desktop computer and on cable. All other wired and wireless PC in the office is working well, then it's definitely this PC. He came out of nowhere, I install a network printer on the PC but that's all.

Your messages are a bit terse, but if I understand correctly

    • You have a router connected to the Internet and multiple computers connected to the router, some Ethernet cable and others by wireless.
    • All but one of these computers can reach successfully from the Internet via the router.
    • A computer that can't browse the Internet is connected to the router via an Ethernet cable.
    • You disconnected the cable between the router and the desktop problem and connected it to a Windows 7 laptop and the laptop connected to the Internet via the router.
    • You haven't seen any error message (except, perhaps, a message on "Limited or no connectivity").
    • You have installed Windows XP Service Pack 3 (or at least Service Pack 2)

Assuming that all the foregoing is an accurate summary of the situation, I suggest that you do the following:

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
Type the following lines and press ENTER after each line

    Netsh reset winsock catalog
    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Close the command prompt window and restart the computer.

  • Router is not connecting to the internet.

I can connect to my router both wired and wireless, but the router is not the internet. I use a cable modem with Comcast as my ISP.  When I plug the cable modem directly into my PC (as I do to post this message) I access the internet without problem. When I plug the cable on my router, I can't connect to the internet.  With my Wired internet router and my PC wire3lessly connected to my router, here is the result of my diagnosis:

Can you tell me what I've misconfigured?

    Thank you!

Well problem solved! Poster on this forum, and after receiving no help, I went to my local Best Buy and asked them to recommend a router that wasn't a Linksys.  I came home, plugged in my new Netgear Wireless-N-300 router, ran the installer and poof!  -I'm on the internet.  Linksys thanks for forcing me to buy a better router.

  • I installed a new router (Netgear N300) wireless and my laptop is the only computer that does not connect to the internet.

Connected to the new router, but locally only.

Currently, I installed a new router (Netgear N300) wireless and my laptop is the only computer that does not connect to the internet. The small icon to the left of my screen says only: ACCESS: LOCAL ONLY.
    BASICALLY,.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium, notebook Compaq (Presario CQ60 to be exact)

  • Airport utility: green points on the AirPort Extreme & Internet; Mini Mac does not connect to the internet.

Airport utility shows green points on the AirPort Extreme and the Internet, but my my Mac mini does not connect to the internet. IPhones and 2 portable Windows connect very well, and see all the devices on the home network. The problem occurred after that PSI has swapped an ancient for a Comtrend CT5072T DSL modem. I tried to stop and things start back up as if the installation of the internet for the first time. No joy.

The airport connects using DHCP in Bridge Mode

    The router address is 192.168.80.1

    Address IPv4 is 192.168.80.2

DNS server is the same as the router, but grayed out

Mac Mini IPv4 Address is 192.168.80.3

    IPv6 automatically configures

Also updated the firmware of the airport; no change.

ISP guy was friendly but puzzled. He started at the top floor level Tech, so I do not know when I hear back.

    Any ideas to fix?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Network preferences may be damaged.

Open the Finder. In the Finder menu bar, click go > go to folder

Type or copy paste the following text:

    / Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Click OK, and then move all files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the trash.

Restart your Mac. See if that makes a difference.

Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

Then open AirPort Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilitiies

Make sure that both Internet and Extreme are green.

  • Error: Your device is not connected to the Internet.

    Hello

I have a dash HID - B70 model and until last week it works fine. I used about 2 weeks ago and have had on energy saving mode after that. I tried to use it again a couple of days, and when I typed on the screen the unit remained in power save screen and showed a yellow above the clock error message: "your device is not connected to the Internet. Press to reconnect. "I hit this button and the unit tried to reconnect, but will still end up back in the same error message and the screen.
I tried to push the reset button on the device, but I still see the same black screen and the clock with the error message once it restarts. I unplugged my wireless router and managed to get the device to show me the other wireless networks, then I plugged the router back in and reconnected (device showed that the connection was successful), but then he went immediately to the error screen.
I can't the unit to go to the home menu at all, no matter what button I push, if unfortunately I can't even reset to factory settings to avoid the problem.

Any advice on how to fix this? I do know not why it happened because I didn't have the routers or wireless providers, nor have I added all devices on my home network.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi rubyjim,

Thank you for the additional information.  I was very surprised to see the number of disconnects the printer has had in the last 24 hours.

According to the information provided, I'm surmising that you stopped in step: evaluate the wireless network Test page according to the wireless network Test page you are correctly connected to your network.  In this step you ask to change the change to your wireless router, you please begin at this stage and test wireless printing?    If you are unable to print please continue with the remaining steps.  For ease of reference, I have included a list of the document printer does not maintain the wireless connection again.

Some of my programs will not update (automatic or manual) when I am online. Quicken, RoboForm, CCLeaner will be updated without problem. I was not able to install SP2, as well as updates of .NET Framework on my PC (XP Pro have). Suite of McAfee or Norton 360 will not update their definitions. I can open the Windows IE or Mozilla and go to the site, but I still see a message that I am not connected to the Internet. I have a broadband wireless router/w.
