ASA 5505 like customer VPN simple AM _ACTIVE status
Hi Experts,
We have an ASA5505 which is configured to operate as a simple customer VPN. The output of isakmp #show his indicates the State of the tunnels as AM_ACTIVE.
But we are not able to establish connectivity to one of the Interior knots.
What does AM_ACTIVE mean? My understanding of all the Clients VPN easy hardware or software, use aggressive Mode and the tunnel is set up and works. Easy VPN server configurations is not under our management, which is most likely a router, and we believe that it is the problem of configuration at the server end.
In addition, there is virtually nothing to do on one customer another easy VPN that specify authentication and tunnel group information in the client, and it must be connected. All other configurations are pushed from the end of Easy VPN Server, right?
The output of ipsec #show his , noted the following
dynamic allocated peer ip: 0.0.0.0 ---> is this to say that this isn't my ASA5505 assigned any IP by the easy VPN server?

This may possibly be due to a bad end of server configuration and the cause of not being able to establish connectivity to the end server nodes?
Help, please! Sorry for the mess, but we want to just make sure that it isn't something wrong with the configuration on our side!

There are 2 phases of IPSec: IKE (Phase 1), status of the AM_Active Phase 1 means is running, and IPSec (Phase 2), and if you have both figure and decrypts increment which means the tunnel past the traffic.
Based on the output, the VPN tunnel is up and sends traffic to the network/VPN server, however, there is no response in return.
You should check the end of the VPN server to see if there is no configuration issues. Discover the NAT exemption and ensure that you have configured on the network head. How do you set as? PAT/Client mode or NEM?

Please confirm that the Deputy Ministers, DEPUTIES and SSH work correctly when launched from a device inside and failure at the VPN. The config what you want seems correct because it specifies the management on the inside interface, and it allows Deputy Ministers DEPUTIES and SSH from the range of addresses from the outside. My thoughts turn to my comment about the pool VPN duplicates the DHCP range, and that both are in the range of addresses configured to access interface. I repeat my suggestion that you configure the VPN pool to be a range of addresses that don't overlap with the other address ranges (and introduce the corresponding changes in the ranges of addresses for ASDM and SSH).

connect Cisco VPN client v5 to asa 5505
I have remote vpn configuration issues between ASA5505 and Cisco VPN client v5. Successfully, I can establish a connection between the client Vpn and ASA and receive the IP address of the ASA. Statistical customer VPN windows shows that packets are sent and encrypted but none of the packages is received/decrypted.

If you want to have Split-tunnelin in use. One you have patterns for.
Then you will need to fix the configured "private group policy" under the "tunnel - private-group
tunnel-group private general-attributes
strategy - by default-private group
Then reconnect the VPN Client connection and try again.
After that the VPN Client connection only transmits traffic directed to the LAN on the VPN Client connection and all Internet traffic beyond the VPN connection directly to the Internet through the current connection of the users.

The first thing I noticed
In the ACL you are pointing to the broad public while it should be to the private sector (YOU HAVE A PERMIT IP ANY ANY to the end, so it's not bad. FYI, if you decide to take this one any allowed ip address then you should point to private servers ip addresses)
Now, the policy where the PPTP inspection, etc., will be used is not applied to any service-policy so add:
global service-policy global_policy
Don't forget not just for a PPTP connection to get established we should see 2 things:
-Trading is done on the TCP 1723 port and then traded on Appreciate data packets.

Error of customer Cisco VPN connection ASA 5505
I am unable to connect to the vpn I created on my ASA 5505 using the Cisco VPN Client on a Windows machine. The log of the vpn client and the config of the ASA 5505 is lower. Any help to solve this is appreciated.

Cisco ASA 5505 VPN Site to Site
Hi all
First post on the forums. I have worked with Cisco ASA 5505 for a few months and I recently bought a 2nd ASA to implement tunnel VPN Site to Site. It seems so simple in the number of videos watched on the internet. But when I did he surprise it did work for me... I've removed the tunnels, a number of times and tried to recreate. I use the VPN Wizard in the SMA to create the tunnel. Both the asa 5505 of are and have the same firmware even etc..

There are some clear problems I see on a quick glance. These are not related to the actual VPN configuration but rather the NAT configurations.
All your configuration of NAT CLI format above are configured as manual NAT / double NAT in Section 1. This means that the appliance NAT configurations have been added to the same section of the NAT configurations and scheduling of the NAT inside this Section rules is the cause of the problem for the L2L VPN connection for some.
Here are a few suggestions on what to change
ASA1
Minimal changes

That means foregoing is first of all create 'object' that contain the local LAN and remote LANs. Then, it creates a NAT0 rule and adds to the top rules NAT. (number 1). It is essentially of at least one of the problems preventing the VPN operation or traffic that cross.
Finally, we remove the old rule that generated the ASDM. It would do the same thing if it has been moved to the top, but I generally find the creation of the 'object' with descriptive names easier on the eyes in the long term.
Other suggestions
These changes are not necessary with regard to the VPN L2L. Here are some suggestions how to clean a part of NAT configurations.

Then we remove the old PAT dynamic configurations.
Contains the command "nat" "car after" because it moving this "nat" configuration to the bottom of the NAT rules. For this reason its less likely to cause problems in the future.

The above configuration is supposed to create a NAT0 configuration for traffic between the network and the pool of Client VPN server. To my knowledge the old configuration that remove us is not used because the traffic would have matched PAT rule dynamic server yet rather than this rule which is later in the NAT configurations and would not be addressed.

I suggest trying the changes related to VPN L2L first NAT0 configurations and test traffic. So who gets the work of connectivity, then you could consider changing other NAT configurations. There are other things that could be changed also in what concerns THAT static NAT servers but that probably better left for another time.

I would like to just confirm that an ASA 5505 with two providers of Internet services on this subject, can build a P2P VPN off the coast of the backup ISP automatically once the main ISP goes down. It has only a single P2P VPN necessary, but if the main ISP goes down, and IP SLA detects failover, can the P2P VPn stand on the backup ISP?

Indeed, if the ISP main goes down the backup ISP will be used based on the configured IP SLA. Many customers have usually the SPLM in the primary and the secondary of a site. However, it is also supported.

I have the following problem:
I installed und konfigured ASA 5505 for use with vpn client. I would like to access the local network from outside through vpn.
To test, I installed ASA 5505 with ADSL (pppoe) and tried to give access to the internal network.
Of course whenever I have recive the supplier's different IP address, but it didn't is not a problem reconfigure in the vpn client.
After the connection is established (vpn tunnel work) I can see my external network packets. But I Don t have any connection to the internal network.
I erased my setup yesterday and tried to reconfigure ASA again. I didn t tested yesterday, because it was too late. And I know that I Don t have the authorization rule at present by the ACL. But I think I'm having the same problem again. (tunnel but no traffic).
What I did wrong. Could someone let me know what I have to do today.

Normally, you want a static public IP address on the ASA to allow it to receive connections from VPN clients (avoid to change the IP address all the time).
If you connect via VPN, check the following:
1. the tunnel is established:

And check if you can PING the inside ASA VPN client IP.

I struggled for a few days now to get a VPN connection works.
The situation
Two offices needs to be connected to eachother with a VPN. The two parties have a WAN connection.
The tunnel between locations rises very well but the communication fails in almost any way.
The host cannot ping each other and also the inside of the router and ASA pings fail.
The only ping works is from inside Site2 to the inside interface of the router side 1 (192.168.1.100 to 192.168.0.250)
NAT works very well on both sites behind the router / asa.
I think I'm doing something wrong with the roads or access lists but after 7 days, many refills, restores, driving from one end of the State to the other to reset stupid moves break and resolder my cable from the console and things completely with default start for 10 times, I'm through, I honestly don't know where to look for more...
Tech Specs:
Site1: has a cable modem that gives a WAN IP with DHCP address
This modem connects to the Cisco 878 (Fastethernet0) router
The router acts as a DHCP server and NAT gateway for the office and offers vpn connectivity to the other office
Site2: has a cable-modem/router (Cisco 3925), which made the NAT, this modem/router gives an IP private class-C (192.168.178.x)
This modem/router connects to a Cisco ASA 5505 (Fastethernet0)
The ASA also server as a DHCP server and NAT gateway for the office and offers vpn connectivity to the other office.
Online, it looks like this:

Ping client customer site 1 site2 and make sh crypto isakmp his and sh crypto ipsec his on the router.
If sh crypto isakmp gives QM_Idle and ping fails and you have no package in the HS cypto ipsec his and then do a debug crypto ipsec
If sh crypto isakmp gives MM_NoState can do a debug crypto isakmp
One note however, you should have ip addresses static at least on the side, initiating the tunnel, otherwise it will not work when ip address changes.

ASA 5505 VPN established, cannot access inside the network

After a few days, I finally found the solution to connect to my ASA with a VPN client yet and cannot access devices that are connected to the ASA.

I read your message quickly through my cell phone. I don't know why you have spent your config twice. Maybe a typo issue.
I see the acl sheep in the wrong way. I mean 192.168.254 are your pool VPN and 192.168.1.0 your local LAN.
The acl must be:
sheep - in extended access-list permit ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.254.0 255.255.255.0
For nat (inside), you have 2 lines:
NAT (inside) 1 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 ==> it is redundant as the 1 below does the same thing with more networks if there is inside side. You can delete it.
NAT (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0Why are you doing this nat (outside)?
NAT (outside) 1 192.168.254.0 255.255.255.0
