  I have laptop HP HDX which had a sound problem with message of error "Could not play the test tone", tried in several ways by online suggestions and ended to reinstall the new copy with recovery disk. My laptop is out of warranty now.  I talked to HP support and they ask me to buy new drives recovery and someone in this forum mentioned that recovery disk will lift the same mistake and we would need to purchase technical support and even that has not worked for soembody after paying $ 200 to support. I am struck with recovery of the laptop now. I also tried the recovery partition revovering and gave rise to no luck.  I'm now out of warranty.

  I ordered the drive to restore HP for $ 16 and I have no problem in my OS with this disk recovery. Recovery partition that came with my laptop had this error 1002 and he really tortured than me. It is recovered successfully with this new disc of recovery with on all issues.

  I would have saved a lot of time, would not have had any stress and restore ($16) if HP disks price had built the free bug recovery partition.

  I'll be very careful in buying HP products in the future.

  I built this PC using a year from a friend. He put a valid XP pro OS on the computer. It worked fine until the beginning of this year when he died. I took it to my local PC repair shop and they replaced the motherboard you PSU and CPU. I tried since loading this back BONE with no luck.

  After returning the computer to the shop, they said they have fixed the bios...? In any case, I have since bought a key drive and windows vista product. My PC starts to install vista but gives with this error. It is vista ready as I have the correct specifications to have.

  Have you tried to do an upgrade installation or a custom installation?  A custom installation requires you to back up your files and settings with Windows Easy Transfer and then reinstall everything after installing the new.  If an update install does not install work, you need to do a custom.

  In addition, a Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade will not work and you get a message from a platform if you have bought a UA and tried to use it with Vista.  Vista upgrade requires a detail, a copy in the Windows 7 box.

• Why windows live mail gives me the error code 80048820 0 x if I boot windows before establishing my broadband connection?

  I have recently upgraded to windows 7 with a flash drive.  Windows starts now in 30 seconds - which is a lot less time that it takes my router broadband (wired connection to my PC) to start and establish an internet connection.

  If I switch both on the freezer, boot windows right now, Windows Live Mail will not download my emails from Hotmail, it gives me the error message I pasted below.  It will not work until I have restart windows.
  If I wait until my router is initialized and has established a connection, then on windows startup, the emails work fine.
  If I have the error and then restart, then I can check my emails OK.
  It seems that if windows 7 can not detect an active internet connection when it starts, it initiates this error...
  Any ideas?
