  I have exactly the same problem on my Equium A100-338 loaded with Vista.

  I have satellite a300 PSAg4a - 02500 m laptop. All of a sudden the display has stopped working on the laptop. I tried to plug in an external display, but it does not work also.

  I can't even see the bios screen not. Laptops normally, I hear no beeps during startup, just the fact that there is no display.

  This laptop has a M86 ATI graphics card 512 MB. Its out of warranty.

  All had a similar experience. Is it possible to know what could be the problem.

  I'm afraid there is a problem of serious material with your laptop from m.
  I like the graphics card problem.
  Usually if the internal screen would be defective, you should see all the external display. This is why I think you GPU is affected.

  You can check that Toshiba is not any volume control software installed that may be in conflict with it. You can also run the System File Checker to locate missing or corrupt files that could cause this problem.

  To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

  1. click on Start

  Collapse this includes this image and then type cmd in the Start Search box.

  2 right-click cmd in the programs list and then click run as administrator.

  3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue

  4. at the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:

  I recently made a bunch of system updates (I've been long) and my internal screen no longer works. At startup, the gray screen appears and then goes to black before loading the full operating system. I connected to an external monitor that seems to work without problems. Every now and then when I wake up my computer, the internal display works for up to a minute then goes black again.

  I tried some basic troubleshooting things that seem to help: 1. turn off the computer, unplug and leave for a few hours. 2 reset the NVRAM 3. I tried to run AHT but I'm do wrong ("D" of operation at startup) or I do not see the it, as my external display only started working once the operating system has started.

  I wonder if it's a hardware problem or a software problem or even how I know.

  A few years ago, I upgraded to 32 GB of RAM, which is not officially supported but have not had any problems with the computer since I did the upgrade.

  I'm on an iMac 27 "2009. MC507LL/A

  Any help would be greatly appreciated on how I can fix this, or at least to know the cause of the problem. Please let me know if there is any additional details that may help to resolve the issue.

  You have the same problem if you try to restart in RecoverHD?  If you do,

  Then, you can pretty well assume that you have a hardware problem.

  If the startup in RecoverHD works fine, then restart normally with the external display

  and back up all your data as a precaution.  Then reboot in Recovery and reinstall

  OSX.  He should ' t do anything else, but the backup must be just in case.

  A few days ago I started my Inspiron 2350 and the touch screen does not work.

  It doesn't seem to be a clear answer as to why it stopped working or a general framework that will allow me to fix it.

  In addition, under my current computer information / drivers, the computer does not recognize a touchscreen... that laugh because the monitor is attached to the base of the computer.

  I'm having exactly the same issues over the past months... In my opinion, to do with automatic shutter windows 8.1 update as well. I have re-installed to make the adjustment and then touch screen reworked. Then windows update automatic, touch has stopped working again. Repetitive cycles, it seems that Dell could not have intended to solve this problem at all. The last pilot patch file was last year... they never update it... I remember my first PC of Intel4 Dell, purchased at the College; She was flawed with driver problems through my 4 years in College; completely lost my parent$ 1700, ten years ago... I do not understand how my wife of Mac user to make me buy another dell again (because I told him I'm a PC person?) ... my final solution can be... support of stop 1.) calling Dell technology, these people have probably even high school, 2) switch to Mac and never re-use a PC... 3.) oh, I sell my stock Dell too...
