Aspire desktop TC-220

I just bought your desktop TC220 with 12 GB of ram, 1st slot machine has 4 GB of ddr3 memory, 2nd slot has 8 GB of ddr3 ram, seems a weird combination, but I want to add som ram so move th 8 GB slot 3 and buy 4 GB memory ddr3 for the 2nd slice. not sure how to ensure I get the best bang for my money.

Thank you

you will probably see not a big difference having 4 + 8 GB or 8GB configuration 8 +... at least until that your system will pass not the limit of 4 GB of the smallest stick, after that your system will operate as single channel (try to use the only other the 4 GB available ram).

In order to have 8 + 8 GB your system will be more stable and better performance when you go over 4 GB (photo/video editing and modern 3D games will do).

on the same manufacturer, yes it will be better for stability.

6 month old desktop PC sucks TC.  Mother hates... installed Win8.1 Win10.  She hates that.  She is 76 years old and do not like change. Wants to install Win7 and willing to pay $ 120 for it.

The problem is that the PC does NOT start on a CD.  After reading these and other forums I tried to change the legacy BIOS. Problem... is there NO option in the BIOS to switch to a legacy BIOS!

    Now that?

OK... fine.  Inside the Intel driver installation application there is a Win7 folder... I had to use the Setup.exe in there.

I could not run the installer of the application main itself.  Every time error code.

Thus, all the drivers are now but I had to go to the Intel driver pages and download the driver scanner/update

App.  He finds the video drivers and install them.

Thanks much for helping him raise the former and running BIOS!

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11, Acer can be Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

  • The Acer Aspire BIOS recovery procedure

I ran BIOS update program accidentally in my Acer Aspire desktop on windows 10 PC, the program began suddenly and run in the DOS window, then it crashes before finishing, don't know what stage was when crashed on the BSOD, which needed PC to restart to the no reboot No Acer logo, black screen and PC beeps a long short beeps, tried to boot from USB but as long as the screen is black, I can't do anything, only to become recurring beeps.

You don't know how to recover the BIOS, if someone had this problem with the BIOS and manage to recover the BIOS, I very much appreciate their help on what to do.

    Thank you

Hi, thanks for the information and the link that I found very useful and informative, to find the good BIOS I couldn't find the option to select the operating system, the operating system is required to download the drivers only. I don't know how to deal with that and if the OS is or is not required when BIOS downloding.

I also found some information in the user manual on the version of the BIOS and how to recover the BIOS on page 25 failure, but it is unclear what BIOS to use the original during the expedition or the latest version or the other between two release dates?

What is meant by the wrong BIOS is specific, bad model, or an incorrect date?

    Thank you.

I look forward to hear from you.

  • Why is it not Aspire 5250 or 5749 on Windows 10 list?

I managed to install Windows 10 on my Aspire 5250 and Aspire 5749 notebook series. But it is not supported as a device Windows 10 who qualify for the free upgrade.

I also have my upgraded to Windows 10 XC603G Aspire desktop PC, and it is supported on the Acer website for the free update.

Anyone know why sucks it 5250 and Aspire 5749 are not included in Windows 10 support on the Acer website?

If windows 10 does not give you any problem, just stay with your versions of drivers; If you prefer to have everything updated, the only way is to search on manufacter (relatek, Intel, AMD, nvidia... etc) site on updates of drivers.

  • I don't know if Vista sp1 or sp2 has been installed on the Acer Aspire deskton.

    Hello

A notification came sayng Vista sp1 must be installed. We had just aiinstalle Norton 360, then we have disabled to install Vista sp1. The download is complete and the computer has begun to install three downloads. The first download is installed without problems and went to the 30% bar install the second download when in the middle of the installation, the computer said computer closing screen. I knew we were in trouble, because he read on the screen during the installation do not stop computer during installation. Message came after the computer restarted him comes from message on the black screen, saying that the computer is not close properly and the 0xc01a001d 37038/95074 (\Registry\machine\components\Derived data...). I tried everything to get it started all the suggestions, but still a black screen, the biggest problem with this computer, is there had never been installed sp1, sp2, or any protection because it was purchased, I think that somewhere to 2006 or 2007 may 2008. It is an Acer Aspire desktop computer.

    Thanks again,

    gmax3

If she never had no installed protection because it was purchased, my suggestion is simple, albeit drastic.

Make sure that your backups and serial numbers and product multimedia/installation/etc key is complete and stored on the computer in question.  Restore the system to factory in any way has been given by the OEM, upgrade completely (all service packs and posterior to the service pack updates) and install your anti-virus software. Reinstall your applications on which would not have been restored in the factory reset.  Update all software from third-party manufacturers to their latest versions.  Install all drivers for newer hardware devices.  Restore your personal data on the machine.

You'll find yourself with something you can do better than what you have now.

The computer when it is nine of the trial Norton virus protection. The computer is running Vista Home OS. Once the computer is turned off it rebooted and came up with a black screen and some numbers running in the upper left corner. When he stopped running 0xc01a001 came. We tried the fix windows without success, it does not start in safe mode. The error message indicates that windows is not shut down properly. I would be grateful for help to the person who owns that count it as me is not computer informed.

    Hello

What is the exact error code or error message?

First of all, I suggest to disable automatic system error reboot and check the error code.

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Run the Startup Repair tool and check if it helps.

    Startup Repair: frequently asked questions:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/startup-repair-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2:

Perform a restore of the system, the Windows recovery environment and check if it helps.

Make repairs to the system of Windows recovery environment:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/make-system-repairs-from-the-Windows-recovery-environment-from-Windows-Vista-inside-out

Note: once you see the recovery options, select System Restore and go forward.

    Method 3:

Run check disk/Repair of environment recovery to check and remove bad sectors on the hard drive.

Make repairs to the system of Windows recovery environment:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/make-system-repairs-from-the-Windows-recovery-environment-from-Windows-Vista-inside-out

Note: once you see the recovery options, select command prompt and run the command: chkdsk /r and press Enter to continue.

Warning: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

  • Carn t new installation windows 7 Edition family premium 64 bit on acer aspire m3201

    Hello

Im having some difficulties to do a clean install of windows 7 64 bit on my acer aspire desktop... I've tried about everything I could think of... to my dvd player would not read the dvd so I plugged in another dvd drive in and copied the files on my hard drive then burned the files to a dvd disk that was not read DVDs and that solved that problem, so I rebooted my pc and it just loaded up vista , so I rebooted again, but went into the bios and changed the MBR on the recorded dvd disc selection and you leave, there are some boots in vista... I do not understand why it does that... so I then upgrade vista 32-bit to windows 7 32 bit and tried all over again... still no luck...

    any ideas?

I fixed it by a method very few Orthodox... I changed my preference to start on my dvd drive and disabled the hard drive... rebooted, then as he was starting I quickly hit the keys on the keyboard shatter the boot and got to the screen where it says not start in safe mode, last good know Setup, start windows normally and so on... I decided to select start windows normally and it came with the do you want to install windows screen... installed and everything is good, im now running windows 7 home premium 64-bit

  • Not finding the readers (Linux)

Hi, I use an Acer Aspire desktop computer, he had been corrupted by the virus to other people who visit * websites.

The machine came with a 1 TB HARD drive and a CD/DVD drive.

I had to wipe the HARD drive completely and decided to install Ubuntu Linux as Windows did not come with an installation disc.  This machine is 16 months old.  When I try to start the message is: "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert boot media in selected device and press a key."

I tried both but the same message...

I tried to watch the CMOS configuration, it does not show or other readers.  It shows something like IPV4 and IPV6 there are other letters before these but I do not remember that the thing wants a password now, I did not a so I have no idea what it is.

So I'm between Scylla and Charybdis.   Any help would be accepted with gratitude.  I did not fill in the lower because there is no operating system Linux listed.

    Thank you

    Rod J.

P.S. I took the hard drive and the CD/DVD drive out and tried both on my own computer, both work perfectly.

  • I hear a lot about several programs for maximum protection, how can I use the firewall of cases AND stop the rest of loading or starting at startup?

At the start of my acer aspire desktop from walmart (not saying not just because his Wal-Mart like this cant be) I noticed that mcafee takes up some space, whenever she starts up. I only need the firewall and what is needed to run just the firewall. I use panda antivirus for viruses and malwarebytes antimalware for this. I would like to know, step by step if possible... How to stop or 'block' additional cases of services from the very beginning that it interferes with the pandas scanner, spikes in CPU when I don't need to use it and occationally crashes my computer by overloading, my ram is 500 MB and it started happening a few days out of the box. Once I have shut down the computer runs faster, but I lose my firewall, so I don't really wish to go unprotected, but really not need the rest services case as I hav more to compensate. The only thing I want to know here's how to get to where I can block all mcafee services that do not affect its ' firewall service while preventing others from starting in the first place. I don't mean that I found through research on the internet because they do not explain how it's done and avoid mentioning insofar as I've seen. If the answers there, I give credit to those who has asked and answered before, I just need help. :'(c'est un windows 8.1 je crois, mais si cela semble éteint juste me dire où regarder vers le haut, de toute façon je doute qui aura une incidence sur ma question trop.)

I don't know if this is possible. If it was me, I remove McAfee completely and just use Windows Firewall. It is the only firewall I have used for ten years and never had any problems.

  • Sucks TC-710 with Windows 10 random freeze

I bought an Acer Aspire TC-710 last week and it is locking up randomly and requires a stop hard to bring it back.

I have updated all the drivers that were available on the support with the exception of the BIOS ACER site. I ran also all the updates of windows and the problem persists.

I saw a post here saying that the solution was a BIOS update, but I don't see how it's possible, given that the computer boots perfectly. I'll reach out to the person who had the udpated BIOS to see what it was also updated. My current version of BIOS is 2015-11-10, and the latest version is 2015-12-07 so not a lot of change...

    * As a kicker, he is the second ACER Aspire TC-710, I bought this problem. One, I went on the assumption that it was a bad piece of memory/ram, but the chances of that happening twice are difficult to quantify.

Any help solving this is greatly appreciated!

Apparently the BIOS update will solve the problem of gel.  Keep in mind, the date of the BIOS are looking into the information system.  These dates on the site are just posting dates.

    https://community.Acer.com/T5/aspire-desktops/brand-new-TC-710-keeps-freezing-have-to-do-a-hard-shut...

    1. right click on the button to start Windows

    2. left click on run

    3. type msinfo32

    4. click on ok

There is a freezing problem for people who use SSDS and disks HARD with Windows 10 anniversary. It is a problem that is independent of Microsoft.  But I don't think it's your problem.  I think you should update the BIOS for your problem of gel.

    Hello

Service Pack2 (if you need it) can be obtained here.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=28

You should also get to the level of service pack 3. You may be able to do it directly from your current level of MS. Microsoft you have to be on SP1A or SP2 SP3 installation to run. Some participants say it will work also SP1. I would be interested for you to post your experience in this area.

Service Pack3 can be obtained here.

  • Lack of information video card

My video card driver is out of date, and I can not download a new because I don't know what it is the map. When I check through all the usual methods, the info isn't available. I tried to check with Acer, but they need the serial number and the sticker is scratched so I can't get it. What are my options here? The paperwork is long gone, and I'm only a little uncomfortable disassemble the PC did once to install the RAM. I downloaded diagnostic scanners, and even they say not available for the video card info. I'm totally at a loss. I want to put a game on my PC but need to know if my card is good enough, it gets this slow pan when I scroll and its really annoying. It was once fixed by updating drivers, but I've since had to format. I am now back to square one.

Who says you have an Acer Aspire desktop T135 and video drivers VIA can be downloaded from the Support of WWW Acer page which is here:

    http://support.Acer.com/us/en/default.aspx

Make the correct selections to get to the download section of pilot T135.

There is only one choice of VGA driver, so I would take, download (she is a fairly good sized ZIP (8.7 MB) file, unzip and run the setup.exe and you behave!)
