Aspire Switch 10 does not start - need assistance to access recovery

While improving to WIn10, the process failed at around 12% and restarted at a blue screen that says

--->

Recovery

Your PC needs to be repaired

A required device is not connected or is not accessible.

.......

.....

Press the windows key for UEFI firmware settings.

<>

In the bios, I set boot order to USB HDD first and secure boot disabled. I put a Win8.1 USB thumbdrive made in Rufus... when it starts, the USB flashes because it is accessible, but it does just the same blue screen mentioned above.

Help, please

first try keys Alt + F10 at startup and check if you are able to enter in recovery.

If this is not the case, Switch 10 use 8.1 Windows Home or with Bing, you should check with the exact model or by looking at the labels on the box.

SW5 - xxx

If it's the Home x 86 version:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Use the download tool and download the iso of the home version and then burn with Rufus as TPG and FAT32.

or you can try a clean install of windows 10

I am running Wndows 7. When you press the button "power on", that the power light turns on, the fan starts, the DVD player made his usual noise and then after 3 seconds, all this stops and all the lights go out. The system restarts immediately, and the process is repeated - over and over again. He just constantly loop. There is nothing showing on the screen at any time.

I checked the RAM and HARD drive and they seem to be OK. I removed the DVD player and tried different combinations of race on foot with and without lead power and battery connected. All to nothing does not. I can't access the BIOS even by using the Fn + Esc key combination.

If anyone has a solution I'd love to hear it!

    Shrappers,

Looks like you are on the right track and did all the correct steps for the issue. I agree that the problem is hardware related. All devices seem to be powered, but the loop could be linked to the motherboard.

  • Aspire Switch 10 does not light: 10 Windows Installer failure problem or coincidence?

Greetings! I have an Aspire Switch 10 originally running Windows 8.1 32-bit with Bing, which is a little less than a year. I had not used for several months, so in the course of a few days had been the installation updates which have been missed, while it was not in use. Yesterday, the update of Windows 10 presented, I ran the utility, which determines whether the system can be updated and then decides to go, despite some reservations about it based on horror stories that others have shared with me. But I thought that the relatively 'new' OS on it mitigate the risk to some extent. Maybe not so much. I'm not a professional computer, but have done enough hardware and DIY software over the past 20 years that I thought I might give this a go with limited risk, but in hindsight should have been more careful because the operating system is rather an essential component of the computer.

Download was fine, and the installation started and was about 19% when I had to leave unexpectedly for a few hours, so I don't know what happened during this time, or when the installation has stagnated. I went back to a completely black screen and a unit that does not turn on no matter what I try. I spent several hours last night looking and try different ideas on how to at least get it lights up, while I might try some of the other patches. No luck at all.

I thought I had created a recovery file, but I can't find a flash drive with one, if my memory fails me on creating a file of recovery, or lost it. Anyway, since I can't get the unit running, I'm not sure he would do any good if I had one in hand or bought an Acer.

The camera has a little less than 3 weeks left on the hub of the manufacturer and is subsequently under an extended warranty from Costco. However, the extended warranty does not cover problems caused by software or applications, so if it is a problem that was probably caused by the installation of Windows 10, I'm stuck with a brick or will continue to try to fix it myself or find a computer local store who might be able to help without the cost more than what I paid for it originally.

All the advice, assistance, are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Here's an update on my problem. This morning, I had a live chat with a support of Acer person. After a last-ditch effort to revive my machine from me, the conclusion was what I thought: the BONES disappeared. Fortunately, because the model is one that supports Acer for Windows 10 and my machine is still under warranty, the repair (original reinstallation of the operating system) will be covered by the warranty. The downside is that there is no local service center, so it needs to be shipped to Texas.

Needless to say I'm going to stick with the original OS as soon as I get it back.

  • Acer Aspire laptop computer does not start

Lites button power screen stays black, the system tries to start, but he keeps power button light turns off.  I have a new disc of windows 7 32 & 64 bit.  I have the disc as a dvd before I turn on the power button.  With the new windows 7 dvd of 20 to 30 seconds to place power turns off.

Anyone with knowledge of this problem would be grateful.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Mojo,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?

    2. What is the brand and model of your computer?

    3. What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far?

I understand that you are unable to start your Windows 7 system. To prevent your system from automatically restart, try to access the menu advanced startup options by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. Select the option disable automatic error system reboot. Also, I suggest you try the following steps of diagnostics to verify if you are able to reach the office in one of the following modes methodical.

    Method 1:

    Please follow the underlying steps:

Step 1. Disconnect all external devices except the keyboard and mouse.

Step 2 I would like to start your computer in last known good configuration.

If method 1 does not work, go to method 2.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Try to start your system in a State of services necessary to the operation and a minimum set of drivers enabled, called Safe Mode.
Start your computer in safe mode

Step 2: If the system works fine in safe mode, try to clean the system startup:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: See "How to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as usual after a repair.

If method 2 does not work, go to method 3.

    Method 3:

As you cannot start your computer at all, I suggest to run a Startup Repair to repair the damaged boot system files and try to boot into normal mode. See the section: How to use Startup Repair in the following link.

    Startup Repair: frequently asked questions

If this does not help, try to boot from a disc to install Windows 7 on the Windows recovery environment mode and then try to run the Startup Repair tool and check if you are able to start normally.

If the problem persists, proceed to method 4.

    Method 4:

You can use the Bootrec.exe tool in the recovery Windows (WINRE) environment to troubleshoot and repair the following items in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    • A master boot record (MBR)

    • A boot sector

  • A Boot Configuration data (BCD) store

  • Note: When you are troubleshooting startup issues by using the Windows RE, you should first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If the Startup Repair option does not resolve the problem, or if you must troubleshoot more steps manually, use the Bootrec.exe

Use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Acer Aspire S7 392 does not start after the new Antivirus installation

    Hello

I bought the Acer Aspire S7 392 in October this year of digitec.ch AG here in Switzerland. Everything worked well until December 19 when my Antivirus McAfee has expired and I decided to change my Comodo Internet Security antivirus. A month back, I had installed Windows 8.1 as well and things were smooth until last night. Last night, when I installed Comodo Internet Security, the computer requires a restart, I did, and then my computer erased. I could not even reached the Acer logo at startup.

As I tried to check the observation of details of covers them this white screen problem, Irealized that many people suffer from a similar problem. It seems that Windows 8.1 and an installation of a new antivirus may have led to this white screen problem. In addition, it seems to be a bios problem that the computer would not start and I hope that someone could help me with this problem.

Thank you very much Acer-Tommy. I had to take it to the Acer Support in Switzerland. He partially solved the problem. My S7-392 has a built-in battery that I had to reset which allowed the laptop to reboot normally. As in, I was able to boot up to Windows 8.1. However, as soon as I logged into Windows, it hooked up soon. Do the restart 3 times triggered the automatic repair/update option. That I took and returned to Windows 8. I had a Bios 2.05 2.03 intead and I had to install 2.05 before making updates. I recommend you seriously all the people who use the S7-392 to strictly follow the installation procedure for Windows 8.1 mentioned on the Acer site.

Please update your Bios to 2.05 before installing something new, especially a new anti-virus.

You can turn on with one of your A3x keyboards... less than what I remember.

    Good luck.

Thank you. I stuck an A31 keyboard on it and it turned on! A took a look on the original keyboard. Jumped the bezel around the button cell and found the power button was missing the rubber dome which lies beneath the button. A keyboard A31 cannibalized and it is stuck in the keyboard T30. Major PITA but a few minutes of fumbling had done. Computer works fine.

I looked inside the frame, but did not find the old piece of rubber. Chalked it up to the mysterious things that happen in transit. The owner swears that the power button was functioning before the swap to the mobo. In any case, thanks for the tip on the keyboard.

  • Does not start, need more and more memory, then crashes. It is SOLVED by deleting DB, panacea.dat, foldertree.json CAUSE global messages: uknown

As a user of Thunderbird long term (currently version 38.2.0 on Win7 x 86 US) today, I caught myself (negatively) by the following problem: at the launch at the start of Thunderbird, the window will appear last closed (and for a short while, I see my files, etc., as left behind, during the last closure of Thunderbird), but then it turns into State "Not responding" (nothing works). When we look in the Task Manager, I see that Thunderbird seizes more and more memory, before this date - after a few seconds - crashing. I really hope that for some help fast, if possible (I desperately need a solution for e-mail job well - ideally the one I had, i.e. Thunderbird with my settings).

    What I tried:
-Uninstall Thunderbird and install it again (did not help)
-Uninstall Thunderbird and install an older version (I tried 38.1.0, 38.0.2, and 31.8.0 - nothing has worked)
-from Thunderbird in SafeMode (same problem)
-from Thunderbird in safe mode of Windows (same problem)
-from Thunderbird in offline mode (did not help)

My main question to know how to solve this problem, includes questions such as
? Should I try to delete some files of Thunderbird and try again (which ones?)?
? Can I use a command line "tricks" to get Thunderbird started?
    Etc.

    Thanks for your help!

I think I solved my problem: delete messages from global reach DB and panacea.dat foldertree.json helped - once Thunderbird started again interactively and now I can restore my data files/messages.

  • Acer aspire e1-522 does not start

    Hello
I have had my acer for almost 1 year now and recently started having really slow down and freeze until it got bluescreen. When it restarts automatically then it restarts.
He gets just stuck to loggo Acer screen.
When I then try to restart it myself it always gets stuck there.
I tried to get into the BIOS but I can't. Tried pressing F2, F8, Alt + F10, F10 still stuck to the Acer screen.
I'm literally stuck on the Acer screen. When I bought the laptop to the store I got it in a box and I didn't get a restore with her CD so I can't do anything from here.
I saw in a forum that I could try to remove the battery, the charger and everything connected then hold powerbuttton for 15 seconds and then plug in the charger. Still stuck at the acer screen... Does anyone know what I need to do? Since then, I can't enter the BIOS Gets a little difficult to do nothing at all...

    Hello

Based on your entry is probably HARD, his best contact Acer drive question as you issue with BIOS as well.

I replaced the RAM of 1 GB in my 522 an Aspire. After that the netbook starts not more. Only the blue power led flashing and I hear the fan. I can only turn off by pressing the button for 5 seconds. The screen is black and I can't access the bios. Now the laptop no longer starts with the original module either. I'm looking for a way access the bios, but I found nothing for this model on the internet. Hope someone can help me. Thank you

Finally, I took a better look at the RAM module and the slot. Although I replaced the modules many times it seems that they were not properly placed in the slot. In any case, it works with my new 2 GB module.

When I install the Bluetooth Suite (two links, either one after the other), I see a link "More Bluetooth" in "All programs", which opens just a blank window with the possibility to add devices. I can't found, because BT is not running.

By pressing Fn + F3, as suggested in another thread here, turns only WiFi on and outside, not BT

A I forgot to install an application or driver? Or some other required is missing software? I have. NET4.5 and MS VC ++ 2005 installed.

Or my model, similar as the one in this thread to arcived not has the capabilities of BT at all? My device settings think otherwise, however.

    Thank you for your help.

What is reasonable too, like some sounds and some did not. You can order the Acer erecovery media for a nominal cost that is specific to your system, which should receive all installed devices initially up to-and-operational unless they have been somewhat damaged.

  • Aspire E1 - 571 does not start USB recovery

Get the error message saying phone needs recovery. Went into BIOS and selected USB HDD to boot. But as soon as I insert the USB key, the machine goes in loop simply display the Acer logo, black screen. Reflected on the USB (purchased at dealer) and there are files it contains. I tried to start USB FDD and USB, CD ROM, but they do not work either. What Miss me? Help please.

If you need to reinstall your operating system:

If your laptop still has the Acer erecovery partition, you can simply start by pressing ALT + F10 and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you don't have this partition and want to use your USB recovery to reinstall your operating system, you must completely wipe your HARD drive first and then boot from USB.

You can boot from USB drive just by pressing F12 and selecting the USB flash drive as a boot device, rather than change the BIOS boot priority.

If your question is different, please post more details.

  • Aspire E1 - 571 does not start

When I press the button power button blue led lights for the duration of pressure on it, but nothing is actually happening with the laptop itself, is not even a murmur of activity. If I leave it alone for a few minutes, that's going to start randomly at the start but will turn off almost immediately as soon as it reaches the Acer screen.

This happened directly after that I restarted my computer due to a problem of mouse, the mouse could still move around the screen, but it would not interact with anything. In addition, the laptop had a very occasional intermittent fault in the last months where it cuts but was always very well after turn on instantly. Any help would be appreciated.

You are still in warranty? Because if so, please contact Acer/company ordered you from and tell them your computer has two card mother/power issues. This situation is NOT your fault and warranty Acer, you should have conflict, however, is this different if not in the USA.

If you ARE NOT in the warranty, then your best option is to buy a new one. You can take it to someone to fix it and see your options on how much it will cost to repair. You could do it yourself, but you should be pretty good in it so dare to try.

(Any suggestion that you should not be at fault with me or ACER, but only the second paragraph fits into this category).
