ASR9K | A9K-MOD80-

Hi Expertise,

I have a confusion with the number of ports [A9K-MOD80-SE = and A9K-MOD160] cards. In the other Word is each map MOD needs adapter MPA or its ports are build.

Example:

If I get under cards, how many ports I have:

A9K-MOD80-SE =

MPA-A9K-4X10GE

Thank you

The line cards modular ASR9k is not integrated any ports. You must order MPA of your choice when you order a map MOD.

  • Improvement experience install IOS XR (ASR9K/CRS)

This time, it's a question for our customers:

If you insisted on the maintenance of SMEs, SPs, installation rollback, as well as the things that you have become accustomed to today, how do you want to change the installation process to make it more simple, but always provide what we do now?

Or asked differently what wrong with today when it comes to software installation/upgrade and would like to see improved.

We want to hear your comments. You can send a message, please don't hold back...

    Eddie.

    > Turboboot is the last thing that we want you guys to do this, we will rarely use its slow and painful, turboboot.

Then you really make the studies within Cisco. During the pre-sale period that after buying the ASR9K told still to turboboot in a major version to another. The explanation was that he would release all the EMS previously installed that can interact with the new facility wrongly (kind of like reinstalling windows from scratch in ancient times instead of trying a risky update).

    > We do not have a TCP in ROMMON stack and we do not expect to support. We will support things like DEVOUT and IPXE in the future.

So do you intend to support greater for TFTP block size? The CLI agrees but gives you an error when you start the transfer. The idea is really to have good flow to minimize downtime.

  • ASR9K | drop packets when ping provider of next hop.

    Hello guys,.

I have an ASR9k and one of its interface connected to BT supplier multiple subinterface and corresponding VRF is configured on this 10G link.

The question is: when I ping the next hop (BT ip address) with meter 1000 and the 1500 mtu size, I get a success to drop and 98% patterns. This decline of 2% packet affects traffic voice on it.

My MTU configured as 8900 and mtu configured as 9058 BT and as it is not more traffic so I don't think that the configured Qos policy is applied on the movement.

UserEnd to ping server is fine but still I'm down 2% on a point to clicking on supplier link, can you please give some idea about this to solve?

    Hello

I think that what is expected. Since it is a drop of water to grounds, this indicates that there is traffic is limited in rate or some sort of CoPP in game.

In IOS XR, LPT plays this role. Maybe it's rate limiting of traffic from the ping packets are destined to the CPU.

Please refer to the below document Xander:

  • L2VPN ASR9k circuit of attachment in the switch (not marked frame)

    Hi guys,.

I am trying to look at the best solution for the creation of a Pseudo-filaires on an ASR9k and extend the accessory circuit in one or the other 6500 or Nexus 6001 switch.

The circuit of the attachment must not be tagged, so that the customer can push some VLAN they want on their executives. The scenario I'm looking at would imply a 6001 Nexus or 6500 who sat below the PE and provide the physical presentation of the customer.

I thought a VCA using Dot1q tunnel with each client associated with a tag on the EP and the S switch, but haven't tested it. Another way would be to use a bridge domain to link two interfaces together on the EP, but that would still potentially require Q-in-Q isolate each customer and to enable each client to push some C-tags they want on executives.

Any help on this would be much appreciated!

    Steve

the best way to me and I've tested this, would be:

    Customer--(dot1q)--QinQ/tunnel---6500---(AC)---(dot1q-SVLAN)ASR9k(MPLS)

This way you can provide a vlan transparency without having to return to service each client.

    THX,

    Pedro

    Pedro,

There must be a bug missunderstand you cite is to improve the notification of error with this unsupported configuration, it does not the config caught in charge. Some details on this question since the release of bug notes:

Problem Symptom: In a router running IOS-XR, configuring the same virtual router id(VRID) on multiple sub-interfaces of the same physical interfaces is NOT supported for HSRP/ VRRP Workaround: Use different virtual router id for the different sub-interfaces of same physical interface Further Problem Description: Example of unsupported config: router vrrp interface GigabitEthernet0/5/0/38.175 vrrp 1 ipv4 10.186.0.1 ! interface GigabitEthernet0/5/0/38.176 vrrp 1 ipv4 10.186.0.9 ! ! If you have two groups configured with the same virtual router id, this means that they have the same virtual MAC address (as this is derived from the virtual router ID). When VRRP is in Master state, it installs an entry for it's virtual MAC in to the MAC filter for the interface over which it is running. However, it is not possible to program the MAC filter per sub-interface. Therefore if VRRP is running over a sub-interface it is the MAC filter of the underlying physical interface which is actually programmed (although VRRP has no way of being aware of this). If using the unsupported configuration, you have two Master groups with the same virtual MAC address on sub-interfaces of the same physical interface. In this case there will only be one MAC address installed in the filter of the physical interface. When one of these groups is removed by configuration or it transitions out of Master state, it removes its virtual MAC address from the MAC filter of the underlying physical interface meaning there is now no MAC address installed at all and the VRRP feature for the remaining Master group will no longer work. The root cause of the problem is that the MAC filter cannot be programmed per sub-interface.

  • ASR9k: Power supply redundancy

    Hey guys

Another question ASR9k me, this time about power supply redundancy. We have connected all power eight out of the ASR9010 as can be seen in the image. The four connectors to go left to feed, the four connectors on the right to food of B.

The problem I faced is I lit only a power of Bay (no production again - I had to do a check quick config) and when the DC briefly lost power (I guess that one of the streams for testing), my router is down.

The question is, what socket on the back goes to Tray 1 internal and that exhaust goes to tray 2? Can I connect the cables as this have feed a diet to 2 power supplies in the status bar of blocks 1 and 2 in tray 2?

Second question, are there N + N or N + 1 redundancy? I.e. If the chassis is fully equipped 8 of line cards, I then require 4 power supplies (and another 4 for redundancy)? Or I need 7 power supply to power the chassis so I only have 1 for redundancy?

    Concerning

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

feeder is passive, it has no active components. All active components are on the power supplies. Your scenario would happen if the power fails, then feed B fails. That would be a double fault scenario against which a possible solution is to have a sort of UPS supply.

    Kind regards

    Aleksandar

We found that the GNC installation kit has been altered. After re - download the package we could successfully deploy it.

Very interesting article. I found the support page for your model of laptop and when I click on drivers and choose WXP operating system almost nothing is listed.

This model of laptop is not supported for WXP and configuration of Windows XP complete home edition will be very problematic.

  • [ncs 5500 in the SP core]

    Hi all:

Let's say you have a SP BGP-free core network with services like: the Internet residential and business, mpls vpn in all flavors, multicast voice and video, etc. What would be the reasons not to use a NCS5500 on other platforms like asr9k/crsX/ncs6k, which are classic/preferred kernel type routers?

I know that this could be considered a too open question, so some specific balls could be enough to reply. I am aware that this could be a matter of opinion too, but prices in the ncs5500 makes this platform a very tempting option.

    Thank you very much!
    c.

    Hi Carlos,

several parameters will be used to decide if you want / can use the NCS 5500 in your heart:

-the density of ports: If you need ports of 1 G, only the NCS 5501 can serve today but not the 8 slots NCS 5508 chassis (a line with possibility of 1 card G is in the roadmap if)

-l' scale: If you need very large route tables (more), you should consider ASR9000

-If you need technology inherited from multicast now, it is not covered in the course of the feature set (PIM - SSM only today, ASM protocols are in the roadmap)

-If you plan ZTP/ZPL FROM, you must target NCS 6000

-If you wait L3VPN features (such as a PE) today and features the EVPN, you need the ASR9000. It will come soon, but even later on the 5500.

Overall, the NCS 5500 can address today most of the basic MPLS requirements. In addition, it supports the Segment routing and MPLS - TE (RSVP), fairly large routing tables (once again, 2.7 M prefixes is huge and enough for 99% of the use cases) + all the news to come with IOS XR (telemetry streaming, 3rd party applications in containers, Zero Touch Provisioning with iPXE and scripts, M2M, automation...).

    Kind regards

    N.

  • ROUTING-FIB-4-RSRC_LOW

    Hi all

I have a router ASR 9006 and double module RSP. I have problem with static routing. Static routing is not working today. I saw this paper.

ROUTING-FIB-4-RSRC_LOW %: CEF DATA_TYPE_TABLE_SET resource memory. CEF will now begin the transfer of limited resources. Only way deletions will be processed in this State, which can lead to an incompatibility between the SIDES/CEF. Loss of traffic on certain prefixes can be expected. CEF will automatically resume normal operation once the use of resource returns to a normal level.

My camera have rsp dual active standby mode. I use version asr9k - this - 4.1.2 (I asr9k - this - 4.2.0 but inactive) I have a connection of BGP table seven complete routing.

Static routing is not working. What can he do?
