  • Satellite L300, default gateway down on WAN IP Configuration settings

I have a metered on a Vista 32 bit and have no default gateway listed in my ip configuration settings. Yesterday I re-installed all wireless drivers and if it works. Today, after having been shut down correctly, I turn it on, and the problem is back. I still had the drivers on a USB key, so I have re-installed, but no result. Is this a hardware problem? Today, it seems weird to me that what worked yesterday is useless!

    Hello

You must first update the Wlan dirver to the latest version:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Also, don't forget you have the latest version of the BIOS and that your Win Vista is up-to-date.

Please also reset the WLan router.
I had this problem a few months ago, she was related to the configuration of the router too. I rested it and it worked.

  • WRT54G v7 client DHCP WAN problem

I recently started having a strange problem with my WRT54G. Internet access via a modem cable and has been fine for months of work, and the cable modem works fine so I suspect that the problem is with the router. However the router also works for the most part, so I thought I'd see if anyone here has any suggestions. Here are the details of the problem:

    • The WAN router configuration has been set to DHCP.
    • It is used to pick up a new IP address of the cable modem with happiness when necessary.
    • One night the router stopped to pick up an IP WAN side. (nothing has changed. I am alone in the House that goes anywhere near the router)
    • Connect the modem directly to a PC works fine (suggesting to the DHCP server on the modem is fine).
    • Copy the config IP WAN from the PC to the router, as a static IP address, also allows to operate when the modem is plugged into the router and the router to a PC (which is how it is set up now, but it's a pain to have to mess with the physical connections and reconfigure the router manually whenever the modem abandons a connection (which is another question, but not one for this forum...)).

So both the modem and the router seems to work except for the router DHCP clients. It works well as a DHCP server for the local network.

The firmware has been upgraded (and functional), I followed the standard procedure to turn on, I have released and renewed the IP address through the status tab in the web interface, and I tried to reset the router using the button on the unit and through the web interface to return to the default settings.

    Any suggestions?

If you have upgraded the firmware of the Rotuer and also reset the router.

So what you do is - to open the configuration page of the Rotuer http://192.168.1.1 and admin as the password.

Changed the type of Internet connection to DHCP and then changed the MTU to manual and size to 1364 save settings.

Then checked the WAN IP address if its 0.0.0.0 click the Configuration tab and then click the sub-tab address Mac Clone-check the activate click on clone Mac - then save your PC settings-check the WAN IP 0.0.0.0 if box-so == Powercycle the network way to unplug the power cable from the router and the Modem and plug it in again after 30 seconds.

When you connect the back make sure you plug the Modem first and then the router.

Check if you're able to online or not.

  • Why some devices (like the PS3) connects through the 5 Ghz band? (EA3500)

Just installed a Linksys N750 (EA3500) router (WAN - LAN Configuration).

I have set the two broadband networks: 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz with different SSID and different WAP/WAP2 staff mixt.

While some devices display correctly the two networks, I am facing problems with the 5 GHz band and wonder if it's the breath of some sort of failure:

-My iPad offered the two signals and allow me to define the 5 Ghz band, but it is showing the weak signals and stall when loading Web pages; as soon as I put it instead on the 2.4 Ghz band, (standing at the same place, of course), what's up, excellent signal.

-J' have a Mac Mini and the location of the PS3 side by side.  The Mac Mini seems to work perfectly in both bands, 2.4 or 5 - excellent signal. However, the PS3 has failed his test of connection and indicates that the signal is not noticeable on the 5 GHz. But connect as a wink on the 2.4 Ghz band.

-Got on and off voltage signal of 5 GHz on a laptop; connected to 2.4 Ghz, everything works perfectly.

-iPhone 4s: I can't even see the SSID of 5 GHz, but I get the 2.4 so Guess account...

So I'm tempted to conclude that some devices can not just keep up (?) to connect on 5 GHz...  But... a PS3? ... Huumm... (but true: PS3 came out in 2006...)

    No logic to this?

    Thank you

    Rob

There are devices just wireless which are not turned on or is not compatible to work with a network of Ghz band. The WiFi feature may not be up-to-date or limited to only work with a network of 2.4 Ghz. In your case, you might want to check with Sony so PS3 can be updated to work with a network of 5 GHz.

  • RV series 3G compatibility

In the Administrator's guide in this series, to set up the network > WAN settings > Configuration of the Mobile network, it says:

"The unit automatically detects modems supported and lists the appropriate configuration settings. The SIM PIN can be changed in automatic mode or manual mode.

The model of the card shows the model of the modem into the USB port. Cards not supported are reported as not recognized. »

Yes, there is an official reference to what are the supported cards and what is not?

I'll buy this router and I want to make sure it works with my 3G USB dongle. I live in Viet Nam, BTW. Help, please

    Thank you

    Hello Tan,

Here is the list of all modems supported:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/docs/doc-30229

Unfortunately, I do not see in the Viet Nam from the list above. I suggest asking for the support of Cisco in your country and choose a modem available locally which is compatible with your equipment Cisco and ISP desired.

    Hope this helps,

    Thank you

  • Cisco RV016 not so Intelligent Balancer

    Hi all

We have a problem with our routers of Cisco RV016 (we have 12 of them).

Somehow the routers keep switching randomly between internet connections. (2-3 connections per router)

We want to completely disable the load balancing and just use the internet connection from 2nd to 3rd as a failover (when the 1st connection is down)

Load balancing breaks the session clients because the Middle session IP switch.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

We cannot deploy them like this and our distributor does not resume the boxes unopened with routers.

    We use:

    Firmware version: v4.2.2.08 (April 26, 2013 19:12:26)

    Kind regards

    Hi Wouter,

We had the same problem. What I have done, is to create a rule in [System Management] - [Dual WAN] - [WAN 1--> configuration].

The following rules are in my system:

    All traffic [TCP & UDP/1 ~ 65535]-> 192.168.1.1 ~ 192.168.1.254(0.0.0.0~0.0.0.0) [active] WAN1

    All traffic [TCP & UDP/1 ~ 65535]-> 192.168.1.1 ~ 192.168.1.254(0.0.0.0~0.0.0.0) [active] WAN2

    The rest of the settings:

    Enable Network Service detection: Yes

    Number of retries: 5

    Retry timeout: 30 seconds

Case of failure: keep the system log and remove the connection

Only [remote-host] checked with value 8.8.8.8

Especially the setting with the remote host, the value 8.8.8.8 is important.

Of course, it is possible to adjust it to the IP address of the modem, but this only works if the complete modem is turned off. For failover when the internet connection is down, assigning 8.8.8.8 works.

    Hope this helps you.

  • CISCO RVO42 problems to connect to Internet and continues to give up internet connection

I just bought for a new router in WAN VPN Cisco RV042 Duan (Small Business Series) Firmware version 4.0.08 - tm (released January 14, 2011). 1 WAN is configured to obtain an IP automatically add and 2 WAN is TRP with the username and password provided by our ISP. The two WAN configured for load balancing mode (auto). State of two WAN is connected, but most of the time only adds WAN 1 shows the WAN IP, DNS, etc. While WAN 2 Add sometimes shows WAN IP, DNS, etc, but most of the time 2 WAN is equal to zero all the. When this happened, I click on connect and sometimes it worked, but most of the time he cut it on the connection and everything will go back to zeros.

1 WAN works too, but most of the time he gave up the connection to the ISP. I continue to live lost internet connection.

I don't know what the problem is with my setups, the firmware or the router. Attached are snapshots of the basic configuration of the router.

I'm disappointed because I thought when I bought this router that it can provide me with a more stable connection but after three days of usage, I have more difficulty to connect to the internet and my boss scolded me already. Help, please!

    Hello Gary,.

My name is David Aguilar, and I'm a support with Cisco Small Business Support Center Engineer. Sorry you are having these problems. Several things:

First of all, you will want to upgrade to the latest version of the firmware (version 4.1.1.01). It can be found here: http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282414010&softwareid=282465789&release=4.1.1.01&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Second, if you use both WAN interfaces, you will need enable HTTPS protocol binding. If (encrypted) HTTPS traffic is distributed between the two WAN interfaces, it can cause instability when you browse to secure Web sites. To avoid this, you must direct all HTTPS traffic on a specific interface.

To do this, go to system management > Dual WAN and select HTTPS as the service. Enter your LAN range as the IP source address and the 0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255 as the address IP of Destination. Simply bind HTTPS to the WAN 1 or 2 WAN.

You can refer to the following screenshot:

  • Configure via missing WAN

So I try to implement my 4th gen airport Time Capsule Version 7.6.7, for use with a server that I can access via the internet. I've seen many tutorials that say I need to activate the configuration over WAN.

The image above is of the previous version of the utility AirPort and not my system.

Here's what it looks like on my system:

How am I able to get it set up on Wan and does not remove anything? Soon, any help would be wonderful!

    Thanks in advance!

There may be some configuration of remote access options in this article: AirPort Disk - access remote (3 methods)

In addition, the WAN configuration option is available on your base station? May need to set up there.

Hope that there is something of value here.

  • is possible to configure the wan on Dell N3024 switch port

    Hello

as I said in the topic. I got a new switch N3024 of Dell.  I worked in before cisco, but dell is new to me. I have a few question to ask: -.

is that we can configure wan on that port?

is - this switch supports the aggregation of the ISL?

If Yes please share the switch manual

    Thanks in advance

The WAN connection is made usually by creating a VLAN and assignment of an IP address in the same subnet as the device that it connects this VLAN.

    Example:

    Create VLAN 10

    database of # vlan

    VLAN # 10

For example let's say that 1/0/1 interface connects your firewall, which has an IP 10.10.10.1 30 assigned to its interface. This means that we would assign 10.10.10.2 30 to VLAN 10.

    # interface vlan 10

    # 10.10.10.2/30 ip address

Then place the interface 1/0/1 in access mode for VLAN 10.

    # interface gigabitethernet 0/1/1

    switchport mode access #.

    # switchport access vlan 10

Enable the VLAN routing on the switch.

    # ip Routing

Define a static route pointing out traffic at the firewall.

    # ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.1

Orders of trunking VLAN are very similar to the Cisco commands.

    # interface gigabitethernet 0/1/1

    switchport mode trunk #.

    # permit switchport trunk VLANs 1-1024

  • Internet subnet mask is invalid - RVS4000 - error on the wan configuration

Hi, I am trying to configure my RVS4000 to have access to the internet and get this error.

I have my DSL ISP (585v7 - latest firmware bethere.co.uk) modem set to bridge mode and the internet connection is up (under the lights).

I then plugged my RVS4000 him and through the browser interface management I try to configure my static IP using my allocated (and proven - I use them now on a router netgear & modem) Details.

I'm going to 'wan configuration' and choose 'Type of 'static IP' Internet connection' and then enter my known IP, subnet mask, gateway by default and DNS details and as soon as I select 'save' I get the error "Internet subnet is invalid. (Please enter again". To avoid a problem with browser field validation, I tried this in IE and Safari.

Can someone point me in the right direction please? It seems such a simple thing but I can't make it work / accept the correct values.

    Thank you!

Well, I finally got your TIFF files, and noticed something really weird...

You have your subnet mask shown in the screenshot for the RVS4000 as 225.225.240.0.

This is an incorrect subnet mask. Did you mean to put something in the direction of 255.255.240.0?

  • the WAN connection becomes too slow after you have configured the VPN (Site Site)

    Hello

I have two branches connected via WAN (MPLS) connection using two 2921 routers.the connection is 2 M.

I set up a VPN between these two sites, but after the connection has become very slow.

y at - it something I can do to speed up the speed of connection.

    VPN proposals are:

    Proposals of the phase 1: 3DES, pre-shared,.

    Phase 2 proposals: esp-3des esp-sha-hmac

I don't think that lower levels of security proposals will add a lot to the speed...

    Hi Marc,

one thing you should definitely is a hardware encryption go if you do not already tht, it also reduces the load on your cpu

You can try other things is play with mtu, according to your line mtu and what applications are mainly used. try setting the mtu of at least 60 odd bytes lower than the mtu and also sometimes server line recommended mtu settings like server many have obligation to mtu to 1300 or 1400, if that's not it can cause a lot of re transmissions, you can also try fragmentation before encryption

  • With WAN Miniport problem when you configure the VPN in Windows 7 server

I tried to make my computer a VPN server by establishing a "new incoming connection" under connections in the network and sharing Center. Originally, she she started but showed no WAN Miniport connections. I could not connect to this VPN with my other computer.

    What I've done so far:

    • I have 'upgrade' all WAN Miniports in 'MAC Bridge miniport driver' Device Manager (since I couldn't uninstall them as they were) and then uninstall all WAN miniports. I restarted my computer and then I tried the device drivers to install automatically, but only a few installed successfully.
    • Then, I downloaded the latest WDK (8.1) and tried to reinstall all Miniports WAN via devcon.exe with the command "devcon.exe install c:\windows\inf\netrasa.inf MS_PptpMiniport. He says that the node has been created, but it could not install the drivers. I restarted my computer, but some of these minis ports appeared as 'Unknown' in Device Manager, while others appeared with their names but with numbers attached because I tried a few times, Ex: "Miniport network EXTENDED (IP) #3".»

from my understanding, I need at least WAN Miniport pptp to work for VPN to work. I don't know what to do at this point. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Cisco 867VAE configuration issues - does no routing between LAN & WAN

Im trying to configure a 867VAE to use our ADSL line. I can do to connect to the ISP, get an IP on their part and can ping 8.8.8.8 (Server DNS Googles) since the CLI routers but the side LAN does not work.

Im just trying to assign static addresses to the side in the 192.168.1.0 LAN range, but it does not seem to carry the traffic from one side to the other. Can it be related to not being able to assign an IP address to all four ports Fast Ethernet (switch)? I get IP addresses cannot be set up on L2 links so Ive vlan1 configuration instead, but that cannot link to any real interface

Attached is the current running config

Can as a question you please recommend a good book to learn how to do this sort of thing?

    Thank you

Hi ports 800 series which are l2 may not take an ip address like you because they are pure switch ports, so if you your using several VLANS part SVI Layer 3 must be set to the router and the switchports to shared resources, if only using the vlan 1 should not no need to trunk or make changes to these default ports , they are in the vlan 1

You have a switch involved or are your PC connection directly to these ports, you set the gateway default ip address vlan 1?

The interface vlan 1 shows to the top and to the top when you run int ip see the brief

VLAN 1 is related to these ports, so when you connect to a pc with a correct address in this range him vlan will come and you should be able to ping from the local pc to the internet

You don't have to bother with books that all things CCNA are on youtube and much easier to learn videos and books as you can see it being configured

  • Dual Wan router inaccessible RV042G after the configuration management of bandwidth

    Hello

I bought a router of RV042G a few days ago to manage 2 lines adsl at my home. Everything works fine except for one thing: I can't configure bandwidth management. When I go into the menu "Bandwidth management", "Type of bandwidth management" then I choose the frequency control or priority and I have a had a few rules to prioritize the http protocol, for example, then I click the button Save. After a few seconds of internet use I loss the router and internet connectivity and 192.168.1.1 became inaccessible Ping. I had to unplung the power cord to restart the router, the same problem persists until I have remove all the rules! A few times I even had to do a factory reset because my adsl modem is inaccessible behind the router (impossible to do a ping to the gateway).

What can I do? There is a known issue on this router and firmware? I have:

    Serial number: NKS16220141 Firmware version: v4.2.1.02 (January 18, 2012 14:10:55)
    VID PID: RV042G V01 The firmware MD5 checksum: a9817f2dbdcbd6a5c109eaa21b1c3545
    LAN Working mode: Entry door

    Thanks for your help.

Could Pascal you please make a backup configuration file.

Then I would you at the factory to reset the router then once he comes back to the top, login, make your internet work and try the management of bandwidth again without any other configuration. See if it has the same problem.

If not then this would imply some there is a configuration in conflict with the previous establishment or a software defect that has been corrected through the reset.
