Atheros AR9485

Recently to buy HP Pavilion and I am unable to see the channel "n" on my wireless network, 'b' works very well. Router is a Netgear DGND 3300 v2 - for clues on what I can try to see the N-channel?

Thank you

  • Slow WiFi on Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 wireless adapter on HP Pavilion 500-120EA 8.1 Windows

This wireless adapter is extremely slow that causes ping high during the game. The game I tried was League of legends. The artheros adapter showed the ping MS 1000 +.

So I decided to see if the necessary driver updated. When you go to Device Manager to update, it showed that she needed no updates.  Also checked on the hp site and it showed that I have the latest version of the driver. So I checked the Atheros website and I didn't have the latest version of the driver. So I intalled the latest driver at 10.0.0.263 10.0.0.270.

Yet once I tried the game to see if there is an improvement with Internet and again he showed my ping 1000 + Ms. has not changed at all. No improvement.

I did troubleshoot and it sort of something I do not know what but. No change.

I also changed the powersaver maximum for the wireless card. No change.

Several times I looked at task manager network, it shows send and receive to be at 16/08/32 Kbps or sometimes even zero Kbps. The table looks very small and its value on the chart was of 100 Kbps.

However, I don't see a difference during the videos to youtube or browsing the Internet. Here, the speed is very good. Even during the speedtest, speed showed a ping from 43ms. sending / receiving packets are indicated in 00' sKbps Mbps. The table is not stable it flucatuates strongly.

So I change my card a blekin N300 wireless and all the problems I've had are solved. The ping playing League of legends is 40-70 m send it / receive packets similar to the atheros AR9485 rae but I've seen go up to 88 Kbps at its highest level.

So what can I do to fix the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 wireless adapter?

    Any help is appreciated.

    What can I do else?

Just an update to someone else who has had this problem for the channel 11 wireless channel setting should do the trick.

  • Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 limited connection and cannot access network problems

    Qualcomm Atheros 802 AR9485. 11 b | g | n WiFi adapter

When I first my laptop HP 019WM-14N, everything was fine, but after that I have upgraded to windows 8.1 (from Windows 8) I started having problems to stay connected to the wifi.    I get a "limited connection" that would be clear me off and auto-reconnect causing delays and a page "can't access the network.    Pilot was: 03/05/13 3.0.1.55.

Then there was an update of the windows updated the driver to 25/11/2013 10.0.0.74 and that's when things are worst.   Now he dump me off sometimes every two minutes and sometimes it will not be for an hour or more.  It is very random, but when things go wrong, it does nothing and I have to connect it to our wired to work around.

Today, I deleted the driver I got from 10.0.0.74 11/2013 and rebooted to reinstsall the orignial driver (3.0.1.155 5/3/13), but things are even worse now.   I deposited 3 times just typing this.

Is this a compatibility issue with the Atheros AR9485 and Windows 8.1?   What is the solution?

  • HP 2000 laptop with wifi (atheros AR9485 of qualcomm) questions

Hey guys, super frustrated, any help would be appreciated.

Prerequisite: Having a laptop HP 2000 I bought in July. Have had 0 problems with it so far.

the 25 evening I noticed that the internet keeps falling in temprorarily. Indicates that I'm always connected to the network but I get a little yellow star on the signal strength indicator, when I go on it says I have "limited connectivity". At the time, I assumed it was my internet, reset the router and the modem and not to use the laptop again in the evening.

The next morning, I noticed the same thing. I would be connected, then file, then a few seconds later be reconnected, then drop, ect.  Checked my PC and had no problem, so I knew it was the laptop.

I tried several different things at this point. I updated the drivers of the functioning version 10.0.0.255 driver adapter, wifi (atheros AR9485 qualcomm) I tried the windows update, but was getting errors when you try to install updates. I have tried to restore windows to an earlier version and had a message saying he couldn't, and that something was corrupted. In despair and pure frustration I reset the phone to factory settings and by a kind of miracle it seemed this morning.

has run smoothly all day, and then later that night, he did it again.

I am at a loss about where to go from here. Suggestions?

  • HP Envy dv6 with Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 wireless issues

Hello! I have a few questions on a computer I bought recently, HP ENVY Notebook PC, number of product B5Y66AV dv6 wireless. The internet speed is much slower that it should be and also randomly disconnects / reconnects, a problem that I didn't with my previous laptop. It is not a problem with my router; all my other wireless devices, including other computers, work very well. I tried to install the new driver updates, updated the BIOS, tweaking Power Options, all to nothing does not.

The first three days I've had this laptop here are no problem at all. The internet worked very well, and everything was fine. The issue only began to appear so.

My network card is AR9485 of Qualcomm Atheros 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter. I'm running on Windows 8.

Laptops are as you order them or buy them as ready to ship models. They are not generally considered to be extensible to all. You can switch from desktop computers in general as much as the platform of the motherboard and BIOS allow.

Not as far as I know, HP makes no recommendataions on laptops and usb adapters.

Just do a search online with Googl, Bing or your search engine favoriteb for major brands such as ASUS, Linksys and Netgear. Check the reviews of the candidates you find and make sure they include drivers for the operating system that you have in your laptop. NewEgg.com is a good website to csome comparison shopping.

IF you want wifi nextgen features in the usb adapter and the chance to have a router nextgen with 802.11ac capacity of 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz, then looking for the one that many people recommend.

  • Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wifi adapter closes unexpectedly after Windows updates

This package contains the driver installation package for LAN Qualcomm Atheros QCA9000 wireless controller series in models of laptop support and operating systems.

Go to Device Manager and right click on the map the problem wireless.  Select uninstall.  Check driver uninstall, reboot and now the driver I posted and see if it works.

  • Connection in the process of re-emergence/disappearance-limited Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Driver

I have googled and looked in the forums of microsoft for 4 hours in the last few days without solving this problem.

Card WiFi of my asus laptop is in the title.  Constantly, he disappears from the Device Manager page and will reappear at random.  When he comes back, and I'm trying to connect to the internet, it is momentarily but then goes limited and then disappears if I disconnect my wifi network.  According to me, it says Code 12 is the limiting factor, and after looking around, I have not found a solution here either.

I've removed, reinstalled, disabled and re-enabled the pilot.

I deleted the ethernet driver and reinstalled that as well.

I tried all of the solutions that has developed on google (there were 5 or 6 different things, I don't remember...)

The update of windows alone is KB3000850 - 700 + MB.  I tried to download this 4 times and it never goes from 0% defect free.  I'm not sure that this is my problem because I had wifi sporatically last week and yesterday my wifi worked for 5 hours.  He only stopped when I decided to start my homework online (lucky me).

I'm certainly not to post on the forums to help because I will more than likely find a solution online first, but it has left speechless me and I can't really afford to let this problem persists longer.

    Thank you

    Scott

It turns out that the chip atheros in my laptop is fried.  I guess it is to walk in and out of the school building when it was 0 degrees outside and sometimes leave in the car by this time.  I had a little usb wifi adapter and it works great.  Will look for a better and longer lasting laptop in July.

  • Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 HP 14-b173cl wireless adapter does not

I have a Pavilion Touchsmart model 14-b173cl upgraded to Windows 8.1.  Everything works except for the wireless adapter.  When I run the Diagnostics on the adapter windows returns an error indicating that there may be a problem with the driver.  I have installed and reinstalled the latest version of the driver several times without success. The wireless adapter worked fine until I updated the driver version 10.0.0.263 by following the instructions in the HP support assistant.

Is there something wrong with the driver?

How can I go back to the old driver?  He was working with window 8.1 before I loaded updated driver.

    Hello hilldouga1,

I'm glad you found a resolution to your problem. If my last post did not solve your problem I would have recommended a factory reset. To restore your files I set out some steps for to follow you:

Step 1. Scan from the right edge of the screen

Step 2. Tap search (or if you use a mouse, point to the upper right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down, and then click Search)

Step 3. Enter restore your files in the search box

Step 4. Press or click on restore your files with the file history
Step 5. Enter the name of the file you're looking for in the search box or use the left and right arrows to navigate through the different versions of your files and folders

Step 6. Select what you want to restore to its original location

Step 7. Press or click the button restore

This should restore your backed up files files. Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • HP Pavilion G6 1165SA - wifi Atheros AR9485 adapter

I have problems with wifi endless with this machine.  The thing to connect to my Netgear Wireless - N 300 Router (WNR2000v2) very well and has a signal very good 150Mbps.  This works very well for sometimes days on end.  Then; for no reason that I can get to the bottom of the internet connection fails.  Very often the wifi is connected always good, but sometimes it isn't and has lost the password setting.

All other devices in the home wifi works perfectly.

It currently has the latest driver installed; Although I tried a version ealier nothing helps.

I tried various channels on the router, I made sure I'm the only one in the range on this channel.

I limited the router at 54 Mbps, which had no effect.

I made sure that all other wifi is turned off.

  • Updated the Windows 10 Qualcomm AR9485 Atheros Wifi Card Driver

Currently, I encounter a similar problem with my HP Envy 17 Qualcomm AR9485 Atheros wifi adapter. The ethernet connection works but not WiFi. I can only connect to wifi after I immediatnly reset my router. All other devices work with the router. If the HP Envy 17 goes to sleep or stay on for an extened period, it disconnects and is not able to reconnect to my network. I had a similar problem to connect to another wireless network.  I've updated, restored, disabled and reinstalled the drivers from the adapter to any wifi avil. I returned at various points system retore. I tried everything except uninstall Windows 10. The HP Envy 17 is longer under warranty. At this point, should I open the laptop and replace the wifi card, or is there something that I have not tried?

Thanks much for the reply, EmeraldAvenger. Yes, I tried all of your suggestions. It was never a red X in Device Manager. I tried different sleep mode power options and channels (1-11) on the router settings. I have reset the BIOS. I even contacted my ISP, who assured me that the issue was with my laptop, not the connection. The only way I could solve this problem was to remove the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 wireless adapter and replace it with the wifi Intel 7260 inside my laptop adapter. I had no problem since since the swap. In fact, my connection is now faster and more reliable. I suggest to all who encounter this problem to just go ahead and replace the Atheros AR9485 Qualcomm. It is unforunate that HP has saddled 17 envy with this apparently faulty piece of equipment, but they have several useful videos on their support site to guide users how to disassemble their laptop.

  • NO QualcommAtheros AR9485 connection with Windows 8.1

When I installed Windows 8.1 (64-bit) on my laptop a Pavilion G7 2272ED my drivers Ethernet and WIFI are correct working but I can not connect with internet with WIFA as well with Ethernet.

I must go back to windows 8 (64-bit) and everything works fine.

What is the problem and how can I solve this problem.

    HI Pvbaak,

Nothing wrong. When you upgraded to win 8.1, it may be the cause.

As you can see in the Microsoft community discussions

    w.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/ProductDetailsViewer?Name=Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network adapt & vendor = Qualcomm Atheros & Type material = & tempOsid = + 8.1 Windows

You can use the new QualcommAtheros AR9485 victory 8.1 driver, he could solve the problem

    Driver - http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/desktop/h1100408.exe

Even if it's on another page, the driver should work, release date is 16.Oct.2013, it is the most recent.

    Download, install, reboot.

    GOOD LUCK, good luck!
