ATI9700 Toshiba M30X-128 128 MB

Are the only available screen resolution: 800 x 600/1024 x 768/1280 x 800... I've seen another labtop 15.4' with an ATI9700 64 MB and has other available resolutions. I do not understand why the bus card only works to AGP4x and not AGP8x as TOSHIBA referred to in
99219 HTTP://PT.COMPUTERS.TOSHIBA-EUROPE.COM/CGI-BIN/TOSHIBACSG/SELECTED_PRODUCT_OPTION.JSP?SERVICE=PT&PRODUCT_ID= & DISC_MODEL = 0

Is it a matter of drivers?

Why same model in the TOSHIBA M30X-128 Spanish Web page has mentioned that the cardbus only works AGP4x?
HTTP://ES.COMPUTERS.TOSHIBA-EUROPE.COM/CGI-BIN/TOSHIBACSG/SELECTED_PRODUCT_OPTION.JSP?SERVICE=ES&PRODUCT_ID= 99519 & DISC_MODEL = 0

Must I declare and return the laptop to the merchant?

Thank you

Hi Luis,.

Yes, it is a problem!

Solution: The ATI 9700 chip supports AGP8x but the internal chipset for laptop supports only AGP4x.

Ultimately the AGP Max is 4 x!

Each specification is good but obscure!

  • Satellite M30x-128: works on sector, but not on battery

First of all sorry for what is such a long post on my first shot! Laughing out loud

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite M30x-128

For the past few weeks I have been charging my battery and then by running the battery until it must be recharged again.

This is due to making connection to the rear a little questionable and needing to be propped up to get it to load.

Then the other day the DC connector in the laptop was released in total (dry joints give up eventually). Before that, the battery worked fine but came down to about 8% of the power.

So now, I disassembled the laptop and resoldered the DC connector on the motherboard. Now, the computer works perfectly over your electric network.

Battery shown LED amber (as in loading) and then, after a few hours as usual, she went green. Great I thought, and so I turned off the laptop and tried to start it via the battery with any connected network.

The laptop will not light. This is fault conditions that I have:

With no battery in it works fine on sector.

with battery works fine on sector.

with no current does NOT battery.

Battery is detected by windows and when I remove the battery windows also recognizes and also shows as being fully charged.

basically everything looks like it should be ok and works ok, but it is not

    Hello

It sounds like power supply to electronic malfunction.
Or the battery is dead and the operating system displays the wrong information about the State of the battery. But it is very impossible. In this case, I assume that you did something wrong by soldering the connector cc.
However, it of not easy to say exactly what's wrong. I recommend to make the laptop service partner because he can start a diagnostic test and can give you a detailed response.

  • The Multi Media Card reader does not work on M30X-128!

I have some problems with the MMC card reader on my M30X 128: i.e. SONY Memory Stick is regularly recognized as plugged into the slot, I can see it in the taskbar windows at the bottom of the screen and I can also remove it safely, but it does not appear in 'my computer resources such as he has done in the past.
I already tried to remove and reinstall the drivers, but without success.
Is there anyone who can help me?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

have you tried to use the memory stick in another computer? The problem is perhaps on the stick not on the drive.

If the memory stick is OK, I think that you need to restore the system with the recovery CD.

    Hello

My Ati mobility radeon 9700 drivers are since August 2004. Where can I find an update?

All available Toshiba drivers are located on the European driver Toshiba page.
If you can't find a more recent version of the driver from August 2004, then a newer version is not available.
However, sometimes an another Toshiba computers laptops are equipped with the same graphic card try check another series that was equipped with the same graphics chip and check whether there is a newer version of the graphics driver

  • M30X-128 - charging battery problem

    Hello

I noticed that my laptop does not move when the charge is complete. This means that instead of move from amber to green light turns off and the computer begins to use the batterys even if windows says that it is on current alternative. Do you think it is a defect, or doing a bios update? When a make a stop the taxation starts again

    Thank you

    Hello

In my opinion BIOS update can not solve the problem. I guess that there is a hardware problem. The laptop should normally work without battery connected right on the power adapter. Please try this and report back what happens.

It is possible that the electronic power unit is defective.

  • Upgrading CPU for Satellite L500-128

I have a 4-5 year old Toshiba L500-128 and I would like to upgrade the processor. ATM I have a Core 2 Duo T6500. I know that I can put a T9500 inside, but if possible I would ask a better. So I have a few questions:

    (1) can I put a CPU with front side bus 1066 MHZ speed and it'll work? T6500 has 800 FSB.
    (2) can I put a CPU with 44 or 45W TDP? T6500 has 35W.
    (3) if the answer is Yes to the two questions above, I put a CPU with 1066 FSB and 45W?

Is possible, I would put something like T9900 or even a Quad Core.

    Thanks in advance :)

    > 1) that I can put a CPU with front side bus 1066 MHZ speed and it'll work? T6500 has 800 FSB.

In my opinion, you should check the compatibility of the chipset and CPU support.
As far as I know the motherboard the computer s portable supports the Chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express

On the Intel Ark page, I could find the Intel Mobile GM45 chipset specifications and compatible products:
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/35134/Intel-82GM45-graphics-and-memory-controller-hub

However, the fact is that new CPU must be supported by the chipset and BIOS.
If one of the parties (chipset or BIOS) is not compatible with the new processor, the laptop does not start at the top.

In addition, you should also know that the manufacturers of portable don t support upgrading processors.
    Does that mean exactly?

This means that even if the chipset would support the new processor, BIOS could be the troublemaker and couldn't stand the improved CPU. From my experience, there is no information on BIOS support. Therefore, the CPU upgrade is always a risky procedure. Maybe it will work, maybe not

  • Should I buy a 128 NB100

    Hello

I think buying a Toshiba NB100-128 for travel and upgrade the ram to 2 GB.
I see that onb this forum many people have updated the RAM, and I think I will too, but also on the forum, I see a lot of people have problems with various things, sick leave etc.

    NB100-128 is riddled with problems?

ID of ESL differentiates the NB100-12 NB100-128 has that color?
I see that the NB100-128 is cheaper a few pounds and is eligible for the cash of £30, while the NB100-12 is not, but I see no difference, except the color.

But anyway, it's a purchase worth?

    See you soon

    Ned

    Hello

    > I only see onb this forum many people have updated the RAM, and I think I will too, but also on the forum, I see a lot of people have problems with various things, sick leave etc.
I m member of BMW forum and I always meet people who have some problems with own BMW
So should I buy other car and not BMW because some people reported problems with clean cars?

In the forum (any forum it is) you will always encounter people who have problems or questions about a problem, but it is a small part of those who have purchased this product, you will never meet people who don t have a problem because these people don't seek solutions ;) lol

However, back to your question; should I buy a NB100.
Well, if I was you I would buy a NB200, which should be published in the next time or it was already released the NB200 is a little more big screen 10 and supports more great keyboard.
But this is only my personal opinion

    It's your turn buddy

  • Satellite L500-128 using recovery on the new (larger) HARD drive discs

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba L500-128, the original 320 GB hard drive is just too small and I would like to avoid buying an external hard drive (for backup purposes), because in my experience, they are just rubbish and I want that all my data on the laptop.

I wanted to buy a new hard drive 1 tb (maybe 2) put into it, I guess it is equipped to deal with, (Please someone correct me if they know otherwise) with 4 GB of ram...

In any case I am really wondered, whether or not I can get out with the help of my new hard disk recovery disks.
If they did it the old-fashioned way (sending an OS disc and a disc of pilots) I wouldn't even question, but as I created disks of the computer itself, I wasn't too sure when I opened the drives upward to make sure all burned on them ok, I never saw something like what I expected.

Also, I read somewhere that someone else has tried it and it didn't work, they assumed because the recovery included an image specifically to fit the original hard drive size?

Can someone enlighten us all please?

    Thank you

    Hello

First, you must create the Toshiba Recovery disk using the Toshiba recovery disc Creator called pre-installed tool.
Usually, you should receive a confirmation message that the recovery was created successfully.
This means that you can use this disk to restore the laptop to factory settings is not serious what HARD drive is in use.
This means that the recovery disc should work with the other drives.

But note; This recovery disk using would format the HARD drive and remove all HARD drive partitions. But this should not bother you if you use the disk HARD vacuum ;)

Planet Earth (HD DVD) to order from amazon and was hopeful that she would be executed on my new laptop. Shame on me!
The Toshiba player works well until the menu when it crashes.
After some research on googled around and especially looking at the software download page soon, I'm ready to give up everything. However, it seems that others have the same or similar problems.

Is there the good step by step instructions available to be actually able to play movies HD-DVD on this laptop.

    Toshiba G30-128
    Windows Vista Ultimate

    Ingemar

What HD DVD Player do you use? HD DVD WinDVD or Toshiba player.

You must update the HD DVD player if you use it!

Notes; Don t remove the old version. This earlier version is required to install the update of the page!

  • How can I uninstall touchpad Satellite L500-128

    Hello!!! I need help?
Someone knows how can I uninstall the keyboard of my Toshiba L500-128?

    Thank you!!

    Hello

Why you want to uninstall the touchpad?
If you wish, you can disable this by using the FN + F9 key combination.
This allows to enable or disable the touchpad without uninstalling the driver for the touchpad.

But you can uninstall the touchpad driver in Control Panel-> programs and features

You will find the installed the Synaptics touchpad software.
Otherwise, you can uninstall the driver for the touchpad in the Manager of peripherals-> mouse and other pointing devices.

  • Satellite M30X: reader will not read the DVD-R data but plays movies in DVD-R and CD

    I have a Toshiba M30X with combi DVD/CDRW drive.
I have accumulated 12 GB of digital photo I wanted to erase but do not want the number of CDs that can be the so I bought an external DVD LITEON EZ - DUB and made 3 DVD - R burner of plenty of JPEG.
However, when I put the DVD in the drive of Toshiba combi, it clicks for a moment or two, but when I click on the combi drive in my computer, the folder is empty and it is said there are 0 bytes.
CD of still works, audio and data, DVD movies fine, reading DVD-R on my Pioneer DVD recorder (for TV - looks like a video/nothing to do with PC) plays very well, but he won't recognise DVD - r with data (JPEG or MP3) on them.

It makes no difference what software was used (Nero 6.6) and LITEON EZDUB and it's okay if the discs are completed, a single session, multi session or what - it will not play any of them.
However, these discs work perfectly in my old office to 7 years with a Sony DVD/CDRW combination of 4 years.
    I'm puzzled.
I don't particularly want to reinstall windows, in the case where it does not recognize the recovery DVDs and I remember Microsoft a Note having activated by phone with a code that is different every time you ask him to generate a.
It's a bit of pain that I wanted to make my pictures with me in my laptop bag.
I won't be carting around an external DVD burner just to read the DVD.
    I've updated the firmware for SD - R 2512.
He had no other effect freeze on a black screen on restart - I had to hold down the switch 15 minutes in this State.
The laptop is 1 year and 26 days if that counts for anything.

Anyone have any ideas? Or can I just put up with him.

    Hello

Well, I can only make suggestions.
You are able to place files many MP3 and Jpeg on DVD.
This is perhaps a reason why Explorer cannot handle the DVD.

Try to burn the DVD with photo JEPG, but do not have the full DVD with these files.
You must leave a free space on the media. Maybe it helps.

But it's very strange for me and it's just a suggestion. I've never tired it and don't know if it helps.
I had a similar problem on my laptop but I solved using compatible media. Some readers prefer different media for different types of files.

  • CD/DVD player suddenly stopped working and undetected on M30X

I have a Toshiba M30X laptop. My CD/DVD drive has suddenly stopped working. When I push the eject button nothing happens. No lights on the front of the disc door. When I look in my computer the drive still shows up! I have nothing extraordinary, before this problem occurred, it appeared after that I started the mobile upwards as usual this morning. I would appreciate any advice that anyone can be able to provide.

What is the BIOS? BIOS recognize the drive?
If this isn't the case, so it could be a hardware problem.

  • Satellite M30x - new HARD drive does not work

    Hello.

I am installing a new ATA 2.5 "internal hard drive for my Toshiba M30X-166. The drive is a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 120 GB model. The laptop does not recognize the disc and no related error message appears, and in the BIOS, it shows as "HD not available."

I put this drive in an external USB - IDE enclosure and was detected by my desktop PC, and I was able to partition and format the Momentus, so I know the drive is indeed work, but my M30X still does not detect the drive.

What can I do to make the laptop recognize this unit? The BIOS M30X is: Phoenix EAL20 version 1.90.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello!

Have you tried another HARD drive? The new HARD drive is may not compatible with the laptop or does work does not correctly.

Normally, a 120 GB HARD drive should work because the laptop has a limitation of LBA 28 bits and so you can only use hard drives 120 GB.
In the worst cases, the HARD disk on the motherboard controller is defective :(

    Good bye
