  53 system error has occurred.
  The network path was not found.
  However, net view 192.168.1.99 (my server address) correctly list the share on the server names (and entering \\192.168.1.99 in Explorer address bar works).
  I did a system restore until the problem occurred first to rule out any changes to the system.
  The problem occurred again.
  This means that my Sync Center shows none of my synchronization partnerships.
  Can anyone suggest the setting or service that must be corrected to solve system error 31 problem?

  I hope that someone here will be able to throw some lights on my question, if I post this is the wrong place please let me know because I was directed here (which forum? ). OK, I support and develop custom applications. An older application especially written in Delphi allows users to attached documents (pdf, jpg, txt, etc.) to the records of equipment in a data base. Later users can view these records of equipment and press a button to display the document.

  When the user presses the button to view the document, the application uses the folder variable to save the document to the temporary path and then asks windows via a shell command to open the file. The appeal of Delphi for windows used is the following:

  ShellExecute (GetDesktopWindow, 'open', PChar (TempFile), ",", SW_SHOWNORMAL);

  Normally this process works very well, we have had no problems so far. On a single computer (windows xp pro with Service Pack 3) belonging to a client, instead of opening the file, windows returns the system 31 error and the message ""a device attached to the system is not functioning. ". is displayed.

  * If I navigate to the location where the file is stored on the disk and try to open it, software adobe reader opens the file correctly.

  * I found some suggestions that the file extension is associated properly. PDF associated with Notepad, I changed, and the application could ask windows to open the file very well. Open the file from the location on the work of disc as well. Change the file for adobe and the problem persisted.

  * I reinstalled adobe reader software, but also a previous version of adobe and the problem persisted.

  * The application doesn't have any problem asking other files opened, only those associated with adobe reader on this same machine. The problem does not exist on other machines.

  That about sums up the problem. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  Unless you write your own drivers for XP and using the Windows Driver Foundation Service to help you debug, you can disable the WDF Service.  It will be one less point to start your system and will not not just sitting there working day and night with nothing to do.

  On some systems, if WDF is activated, you can begin to see some errors of svchost.exe like this:

  Application error: the instruction at "0x7c91b21a" referenced memory at "0x00000010". Memory could not be "written".

  The best solution for this problem is: disable the WDF Service.

• "Send to..." 'Recipient' disable the context menu in Explorer for JPG does not or not broken.

  Problem on VISTA ULTIMATE 32.  I have all the latest patches. It's a laptop ASUS M70. Default email course is Windows Mail.

  In the Windows Photo Gallery, when I select a photo, then click on "messages" then that nothing happens.
  In Solution Explorer, select a JPG photo, and then I can either 1) click on "E-mail" or 2) via the context menu, select "send to" followed by "Recipient" and appears "attach files" box that allows me to resize the jpg file. If I want to, I can cancel it with success. However, if I select "join" then it shows "Preparing to send" and just hangs there.  If I cancel (after say 1 to 10 minutes), it hangs there doing nothing with the message «Cancel...» "indefinitely.    If I cancel the application "attach files" in the Task Manager, it lowers the Explorer.

  What is going on? What I want to do is ' send to ' 'recipient' some resizing photos (via the context menu in the Explorer). There is no problem to send other files e.g. *.mp3.

  I just noticed that (even if an instance of "Attach files" is 'preparing to send' or 'Cancel') it will work properly if I do not resize. In other words, if I want to send the original size. While so-called to resize JPG? Is it an idea to my problem?

  As it works fine in safe mode then there could be some third party software installed on the computer are contradictory in normal mode, I would say that you clean the clean boot procedure and check.

  To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  Perform the check and the clean boot if you have the problem.
  1. click on Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
  2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
  3. under Selective startup, clear the Load Startup items check box.
  4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click disable all.
  5. click on OK.
  6. When you are prompted, click restart.
  7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

• HAVE CS3 export to 1500 dpi jpg does not

  I created an artwork in AI CS3 and need to export it as a jpg at 1500 dpi.  I created the work in PS CS3 at 1500 dpi and have used I do the text.  When I go to export a jpg file, it allows me to export option at 1500 dpi through "Custom".  Yet, whenever I have it try I receive a reply that my processor doesn't have enough memory.  I use a macbook pro 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.  What I am doing wrong?  Help, please!

  I have a folder with 20 000 + jpg in them, and Windows Explorer WILL DO show that nearly 500 points! and if I try to copy the 20 000 jpg files that I saved on a flash dive, Windows Explorer said that all of the 20,000 + is here! (he asks me if I want to replace each of the files jpg 20 000 + when I copy them on) the status bar says 503 items in the folder and I HAD 20 000 + AND WINDOWS THINK all 20,000 + ARE THERE TRYING to COPY BACK! How can I get Windows Explorer to display all 20,000 +? Apparently, they ARE there, but the Windows Explorer DO NOT display them!

• LaserJet 2605dn any size but letter print does not correctly

  We had our Laserjet 2605dn for a few years and had no problems printing using different paper sizes, using the XP computers.  However, when you print to the printer of 2605 to using a Windows 7 machine, the printer will not print correctly on letter-size paper.

  We try to print using a half-sheet letter or size of the statement (5.5 x 8.5).  We tried printing on 3 different machines to Windows 7, using Microsoft Word and also LibreOffice.  We choose the correct size paper into the printer Preferences dialog box and the print preview shows that it will print correctly.  However, when it prints, it is cropped and we get an error message printed on another sheet of paper: error PCL XL WARNING: IllegalMediaSize.

  We tried setting the custom paper size as the size of the statement in the dialog box printer, printing from the status bar, and also the manual feed.  We use the latest driver available through Windows Update and the HP Web site.

  Please notify.

  I ended up starting completely over.  First I have updated the firmware of the printer even if she showed it was common.  Then I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on each computer, to have watch online for the driver.  Once it was full, I am able to print correctly on statement and letter-size paper.  Obviously the firmware or drivers have been corrupted or not really updated as indicated.  Thanks for your advice!

  Digital photos were taken with a Nikon "point and shoot" camera

  Pictures open in my XP machine and view .jpg file name

  Copy photos with the outside to a WD 500 HD XP machine and they always correctly opens on the XP machine.

  Connected the WD external hard drive to my new WIN 7 laptop to change

  Laptop recognizes the WD external HD... but says there are no files on it.

  Default viewer changed to IRFANVIEW (which I use in the XP machine)... Still no files indicate hard disk

  Tried to copy the files to a DVD - R (I closed it) on the XP machine. Well open files on this machine.

  Tried to read the files of the DVD on the Win 7 machine. The files are not recognized.

  The old machine is a Dell Dimension 3100 with Win XP svc pack 3

  The new machine is a g7 - 1033CL laptop with Win 7 Home Premium... HP i3... 500GB HD... 4 GB OF RAM.

  These suggestions do not work in my situation. They require that a file/folder is accessible. In my case, none of the files/folders are recognized on my external hard drive or a DVD that these files have been copied from my XP machine. Win 7 'sees' the external HD/DVD, but indicates that there is nothing on them. So I can't run some suggested solutions.

  Any other ideas?

  PS... Win 7 going to open these files when they are sent by the XP machine via Email to myself.

  I don't have much time to play with this right now, but if you open glossary_use.js, it is in the folder of the ws. Find a line like the following and play with the dataID number * 20. If you are in Dreamweaver and have a site for the HTML5 version configuration you can only 'find '. Because your glossary is very long number is perhaps not big enough to scroll properly.

• Exported jpg does not resemble what I see in LR

  I'm stuck on this problem and hope you people can help out.

  I have an image that I have beenworking LR and PSE.  He looks good in LR, but when I export to a jpg, my last set of changes are not saved.  The image that is exported is grainy and has less contrast, all of which were two things that I've changed in LR.

  I'm careful to save the changes to the metadata prior to the export.  I don't use this problem with all the other images.  Can anyone help?
