Could not start service windows drivers Foundation-User-Mode Driver Framework on the local computer, error 31: a DVICE attached to the system does not work

When I go to start the Service for Windows drivers Foundation I get the following error message, cannot start service window drivers Foundation-User-Mode Driver Framework on local computer, error 31: a device attached to the system is not functioning

I was not able to find an answer in help

Unless you write your own drivers for XP and using the Windows Driver Foundation Service to help you debug, you can disable the WDF Service.  It will be one less point to start your system and will not not just sitting there working day and night with nothing to do.

On some systems, if WDF is activated, you can begin to see some errors of svchost.exe like this:

Application error: the instruction at "0x7c91b21a" referenced memory at "0x00000010". Memory could not be "written".

The best solution for this problem is: disable the WDF Service.

  • I run Windows XP and my Windows Audio service is not listed in my Services window. It seems to be impacting directly to my computer detect my speakers. How do I fix this?

I run a desktop computer with Windows XP.

About two days ago my computer suddenly had no noise.  I checked the window sounds, voice and audio in the control panel.  Here, I discovered that the computer was grateful is no longer my speakers.  I have a Realtek HD Audio Manager, who still seems to recognize the speakers and can play demo sounds and effects in the Manager, but Windows itself can not see them.

I tried to reset my computer, which had no effect.  I did a virus scan, which detected and deleted a file from my drivers folder called afd, but my sound problem was not fixed.  Research on this problem, I found a lot of references for the Windows Audio service, which may have been disabled.  I ran the line services.msc and in this window, I couldn't find one marked Windows Audio.
A troubleshooting step suggested was to restore the computer to an earlier date, before the problem occurred.  This was not completely like my system has reported that it was impossible to restore to a previous period that I selected.
Are there additional opportunities that I missed?  Are there resources for me to download the program on Windows Audio?  Are my signs of deeper systemic problems?
    Sincerely,
    Silencer

I tried the Safe Mode system restore and chose the oldest checkpoint I could reach, 7 March. It took significantly longer to go, that he had previously, but still displayed the message, "cannot restore your computer to the point of control:" lists the control point for March 7 and then suggested another attempt at a different checkpoint. I do not understand why I wouldn't be able to do this work.

As for the AV and firewall Suites, I wear McAfee. Could it prevent my restoration? I'll try it with McAfee and the Internet, temporarily disabled.

McAfee may very well be the problem. When I was with Zone Alarm, I had to uncheck the setting "Start with Windows", then restart in Mode safe mode with command prompt and run %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe from there to get it restored. The problem wasn't so much that ZA he would keep running, but when it came time to restart, prevented ZA SR to writing files necessary back to Windows at the time of reset. By preventing it from "Start with Windows", it would end as it should, so I want to reactivate ZA.

And Yes, always unplug your ethernet (or disable your wireless network) while the firewall is down. Certainly don't want to pick up the mean, just trying to solve a common problem :-)

Try the methods below and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

I suggest that you follow the steps under the heading Windows Installer issues in the link below to fix the problem.

    Method 2:

You can also try running a Scan SFC (System File Checker):
SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary.

Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows. In view of this, plus the fact that the SFC /scannnow is completely automatic and very easy to use, the tool should be usually one of your top not troubleshooting.

on windows xp that my system restore to a previous restore point, I tried many restore points & created new ones but the system displays "could not be restored", any help out there.

Let see... What do we know about your system environment:

    It's windows xp.

If we knew more, you would probably now.

What is the problem that you are experiencing this thing you System Restore will be remedied?  System Restore is not a time machine.

The system restore already worked successfully in the past?

Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems like frustrating and a lot of time as possible by asking only not for any information system when a new question is asked.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.
For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:
Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...
It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:
According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.
Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.
System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.
That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).
Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.
Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware.  It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary.
No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
It can be uninstalled later if you wish.
The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues.
  • Vista 64-bit Black Screen of Death, with just a mobile available slider, the system does not start in safe mode.

My system worked properly on 25 April and then something happened and now the machine comes back with "Start menu options" but will not start in one of the listed options, modes result in the same outcome.  System also starts on the Vista CD.

System begins to boot normally, shows the tracer Green Windows at the bottom of the screen, then the mouse pointer appears and moves but the rest of the screen remains black.

That's it, that's all what he will do.  I checked the settings of the computer and ran the diagnostic tests available and everything seems to go fine and passes all the tests.

I worked on my own computers for over 20 years and never been stumped before, but I must say this is a first, and I have no idea what to try to do it now.

    Help or direction is appreciated.

original title: Vista 64-bit Black Screen of Death, with just a mobile available slider, the system does not start in safe mode.

See if there is a way to tecover clean your data before doing a restore to conditions of factory that will wipe the drive of all.  You can use Knoppix http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (which you will need to do on another computer).  Starting on this disc and lla should give you enough access to the system (if you do not have any other means) to backup your important data.

So since you seem to have no other alernatives, you can try retoring the original factory computer options. However, if it is a hardware problem as could very well be the case, you can still encounter problems after even this drastic step.  Then you will need to consider in a reputable computer repair shop (NOT Geek Squad or or a any of these big store centers) or maybe even go back to the manufacturer for repair.   Check out several options and compare the costs, quality and guaranteed and then make your best decision.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • T610 with Windows Embedded 7 - the system does not license for the operating system image

    Hello community,

I bought a refurbished computer ThinClient T610 that is running a Windows 7 Embedded English. The label on the package says, that the computer ThinClient is allowed with W7E. When I now run Easy Tools installed on the computer ThinClient hp to create a USB Image with the German language, everything works fine: the image is downloaded from the web and put on the stick.

But after you start the stick, the installation program tells me: "the system does not license for the operating system image. What I am doing wrong? The BIOS is already the latest.

Or y at - it another way to transform the operating system in German? There should be an option to download additional languages, but this particual window has no other options. And I have not found any manual way to download other languages.

    Concerning

    Michael

Sometimes it can be so easy... ;-)

    So here's my solution:

    1. go on the Web for hp Support site

    2. go in the software and driver download

    3. set the language of driver on the language of your choice (in fact: it was the main problem)

    4. download an operating system image

    5. run the configuration tool and copy the image of an operating system on a flash drive

    6. restart the workstation and install the os

    7. take advantage of your computer ThinClient in the language of your choice

I don't know, why the hp Easy Tools downloaded the image of evil, but with this solution, that I find myself at the same point, as if they did.
