Attempt of burning DVDs and receive message please insert a disk in drive E:, what I've done.

I am trying to burn a DVD and I get the message "Please insert a disk in drive E:," what I've done.

Hi mguttman,

It is possible that you may need to date/reinstall the driver for your CDROM.  If you access the website of the manufacturer of your computer, you should be able to download for free here.

In addition, please see the link for more information troubleshooting below:

I hope this helps! Debra

  • I have the Hello, I have a Windows Vista Business OP, 32-Bit - I'm not able to use my CD/DVD player - "the message,"Please insert the disk"as much as I insert a disc."

    What do you think could beb solution?

    I tried a solution by Microsoft, but I could not find filter lower or higher in the right pane - so I had to give up.

    See below;

    Windows Vista

    1. click on Start

    Collapse this includes this im

    and then click all programs.

    2. click on Accessoriesand then click run.

    3. type regeditand then click OK.

    Collapse this includes this image

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

    4. in the navigation pane, find and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    5. in the right pane, click UpperFilters.

    Note You can also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You don't have to delete this entry. Click UpperFilters . If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you may still have to delete the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 8.

    6. in the Edit menu, click delete.

    7. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.

    8. in the right pane, click LowerFilters.

    Note If you do not see the LowerFilters registry entry, unfortunately this content can't help you. Go to the section "next steps" to learn how you can find more solutions or more help on the Microsoft Web site.

    9. in the Edit menu, click delete.

    10. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.

    11. exit the registry editor.

    12 restart the computer.

    Hello

    There are several methods to check the high low filters and maybe it's not yet the real
    the cause of the problem.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
    a process that solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
    Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
    RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

    Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
    cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

    Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
    ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
    contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
    manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

    Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
    Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

    Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
    the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

    Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
    the correct registry entries for your car.

    Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
    as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  • Starting problems, get the error "there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.

    1st problem: yesterday I started getting a popp window with the text following formulation - "there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR1' I have no idea what this introduced him or how stop it.  Any suggestions?

    2nd problem: whenever I restart my computer or shut it down and then power up the white bar that moves from left to right only moving to halfway through and then stops. I then have to hold the power button in until the computer turns off again and then rehit the power button. When it starts to power back up the white bar is always in the Middle, but then begins to finally complete the passage to the far right of the box. This problem started when I loaded the software for my printer Canon MX870 new that I bought and installed in October 2010 and has been done since then. I removed and reloaded the software of the printer on three different occasions but the problem persists.

  • There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive F:.

    I use Windows 10.  I have several times the Question "Please insert a disc into drive F:. After one of the updated Windows Update, the problem disappeared for a few days. It is now again. Please do not ask what is obvious. There is no such disk to be inserted. I saw this virus in 2012. It is directly linked to Adobe. Especially at the start, Ps and Acrobat reader.

    On a previous occasion when I had the problem, Windows (10) forced me to update. The problem disappeared.

    Earlier I asked Windows Update, 2 minutes later the computer booted. The problem disappeared. I checked Acrobat, most boring, no problem. I have only checked Ps no problem. How long it will stay like that, I don't know. I can't MY DOCUMENTS, PICTURES, MUSIC some time yet. So, I'm not able to do anything with or for them. It will tell just me "Unauthorized" or something in that line.

    I appreciate your help.

Acrobat no longer shows the message at startup.

    Hello

    Please ALL these even if you've done it before as it's often the total process that
    solves the problem. You should also check with the system manufacturer as some readers do not use windows
    by default the drivers and need their own, use the bottom and if no joy check on the site of the manufacturer of the system.

    Hello

    Exactly what you do when you get the message "Please insert a disk in drive A;

    Your cables might be backward. Some cables I've seen can be connected backwards, but normally there is a lack of female pin and/or a physical bar that stops you place the cable correctly. In case of doubt, all cables (that I saw) have an edge that is color which is the limit where pin 1 is. Your motherboard and the floppy drive (s) should also indicate what is pin 1 (sometimes with the number 1) or sometimes by an arrowhead. In addition, the end of the cable with the twist must be connected on the floppy drive.

    As you have obviously been disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, you should check for twisted on the Board and the drive pins.

    The device does not show in disk management, but should appear in the Device Manager.

    Don't you hear the drive trying to search the diskette?

    Are your formatted diskettes?

    Have you tried a new pre-formatted floppy?

    I do not recommend people to use diskettes these days. The reasons include

    • reliability
    • capacity
    • convenience

    Also, although I did not buy the disks for centuries, I wouldn't be surprised to see that memory sticks are cheaper than a box of diskettes and hold much more data.

    I would say get a memory stick and use it instead of floppy disks.

    I use systec usbmodule1 to send and receive messages CAN one have tried this in labview?, if so can you send me the code

    Thank you

    Hey,.

    All our drivers CAN have been written for CAN of National Instruments hardware (referenced here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/E2C6ED025C798C5586256F4E00520448 ). So, you will need to manually, code all your communications unless Systec provides a LabVIEW driver. There could be several dll files Systec provides for communication, which you will be able to access through LabVIEW. Take a look at the node of library function call, which is in the range of functions under connectivity-> libraries & executables. Here, you can call a dll file, as well as the different functions in this dll.

    I suggest posting your question either on the forum of LabVIEW, as mentioned previously, or on the forum CAN found here: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board?board.id=30
