Audio device is in use by another application

As the title suggests, however,

I tried to reboot Windows Audio,

I have uninstalled and reinstalled my Audio drivers

no other programs try to use the speakers on my TV,

forcing audio to play through my TV (extinguish all alternative audio devices) causes a blue screen.

also restarted several times in attempts to solve the problem.

P.S. the sound is read by all the other outputs such as helmet, it's only my TV speakers that cause the blue screen and do not accept the sounds. It is an older model of the Sony Bravia.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Open windows control panel, open Windows Update, select "View update history" in the left pane and then select "Installed updates" link in the next window.

Locate the KB2962407 update, right click and choose uninstall.  Once completed, restart the computer, open windows control panel, open Windows Update and select "Check for updates".  You will see the update that you have uninstalled just offered once again - right click and select "Hide update".

After that you may or may not need to remove and reload the sound driver - if you do, how to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

  • 8 casual Windows no noise problems. The camera is used by another application.

    Hello
I had sound problems with the speakers on an HP Ultrabook running Windows 8. Sometimes the laptop speakers stop working. When this happens, I go to control panel > sound, speakers (one set to select), select Configuration and Test. After selecting the Test, I get the message device in use. The camera is used by another application. Please close all units are audio playback on this device, and then try again. I went to the properties for the speakers, the Advanced tab and unchecked option "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device." I also used the term sndvol to try to determine the application, but it only shows the device: speakers / HP and Applications: System sounds.

The only way I could get the speakers to work is to restart or turn off and turn on the pilot for the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. Does anyone know how to determine the application causing the problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

On the forum of the community of HP HP technician found that uninstalling Microsoft update KB2962407 should solve the problem.  This update is a patch that says "shortened battery life when an inactive audio device is not turned off on a computer running Windows.  I installed this update on June 19.  I have no updates installed July, so uninstall updates July cannot solve the problem.

  • Logitech webcam M/N VUBE-43is in use by another application and I cannot connect to it

I have a webcam logitech M/N VUBE-43, I used it on this computer gateway DX441S with windows vista family premium, but now I cannot CONNECT to THE CAMERA.

The error MESSAGE IS: WEBCAM IS in USE BY ANOTHER APPLICATION! ANOTHER APPLICATION OF WINDOWS VISTA COULD INDICATE TO THIS MESSAGE, AND HOW DO I REMOVE THE BLOCK! Thank you

    Hello the South Georgia Farmer,

If you go into the Task Manager you see all processes running that could be using the webcam, like MSN messenger or Skype? If so, then finish the process for MSN and then see if you can use your Webcam. Also other programs that may be using the Webcam can have left handles opened to the webcam.

I check and update the webcam in Device Manager.
-Control Panel > System Maintenance > Device Manager
-Go to Imaging and made devices 'Logitech Camera' right click and choose "update driver software".
-Click on "automatically search for an updated driver.
S ' it automatically finds none, then choose 'Browse my computer for driver software' and
"Let me pick from a list." Find your webcam version and update.
    -Restart your computer.

Now check and see if you still get the error. If so, my next recommendation would be to contact Logitech for help.

Please answer back with an update on this issue.

I tried to delete the driver for the camera in Device Manager, but cannot get rid of it.

does anyone know how to get rid of the software/drivers chicony etc once and for all?
How can I find out which application is using the camera?

    Hello

It is probably locked by another application such as a Messenger or Skype program as some
do not release the control once they have been executed.

Try to restart and access the camera.

  • port used by another application

    Hi-

I know that this problem has been posted before about a have people, but when I read the messages and responses, I just get twisted into a pretzel trying to follow links and messages and suggestions that all seem to lead me in all directions. Sorry, but I just get really confused. I tried to do an online chat with a representative of Palm, but the login screen keeps repeating to me again and again for me to fill out my name and repeated info and I seem to be able to connect to their chat agent.

So here I am. Here's my situation:

Handheld Tungsten E2 cannot sync via bluetooth to my Windows 7 laptop. I use OS 4.1.4 because screens of download for most recent versions say that they do not work with Windows 7. Also a Palm representative told me that, too. I have synced with great success, through bluetooth, this fall, but have recently undergone a laptop crash, then a breakdown of your handheld. (What a month this has been!) They have all both been fixed but sync seems to no longer work.

    • I have Bluetooth activated and configured as detectable on the handheld.
    • My Bluetooth devices are listed as working in my Windows 7 Device Manager.
    • My Hotsync manager is enabled.
    • I tried setting series and also to the network via the Hotsync Manager in the system tray. No matter what I click in the Hotsync Manager list, I get a message telling me that the Com1 port is not available but the Hotsync Manager will open the port when it becomes available. This, of course, never comes to pass.
    • When I attempt a Hotsync, I'm unable to connect and get the message on my pocket computer that the port is in use by another application.

Help, please. And please keep it as simple as possible.

    Thanks a LOT-.

    BWalker

    Hello!

If the reason to use Palm Desktop 4.1.4 are just compatibility concerns then please use 6.2.2.  Palm Desktop 6.2.2 version compatible for Windows 7, especially due to changes MS made 3rd party app data saved.  First of all uninstall PDT 4.1.4 and then install PDT 6.2.2.  This version of Palm Desktop, wouldn't you go through the grind to determine which COM port to use also.  In hotsync Manager, go to connections and check bluetooth.

After that, go through the process parring on the PC to match the Tungsten E2 again.  HotSync should work correctly this time.

Just a note that if you use a USB bluetooth dongle sometimes to restart you have to just get out of the hotsync Manager and reopen since Windows could change COM ports on USB devices.

  • IR hotsync problem: "because the port is in use by another application."

I finally got my system operation.  Sony Clie TJ - 25 pda, Palm Desktop 4.1, Windows 7 64 bit.  Very delicate balance.  I failed to install the new software released by aceeca.  I finally got it by infrared hotsync.  Several times.

Now, today, I get the message on the Clie: "could not start the hotsync operation because the port is in use by another application."

I saw this thread and in fact ensure that the transfer of images using a digital camera box is unchecked.  It still does not.  The icon hotsync in the lower right part of the screen, when I check that IR is checked, nothing else is.  It still does not.

    Thoughts?  Ideas?  Suggestions?

Cidercat I had this happen to me with bluetooth hotsync before. I listen to radio, transfer files and surf the web with bluetooth. I could solve the problem by turning off the bluetooth, then turn it back on. Sometimes a warm reboot might also work. I came across a free application for the Palm tree named NetworkDown. It closes completely all active sessions down. You type right on the icon to run it. It works on my TX.

  • I can't install service pack 3, I get an error that ntkrnlpa.exe is in use by another application

I search on the forum and found that another user had the same problem but nobody answered.

What happened is that I had a few viruses that my computer shuts down completely.  I have simply no money to buy or update of protection against the virus at the moment.  So, my computer crashed.  Then I had to use my system restore disks to restore my computer.  Then, after that I restored my computer now goes to the blue screen and scans files each time.  At the end of the list is a message: unable to write to the boot sector (according to me, it is said).

Then I accidentally downloaded a virus.  He was disguised as a MS program and was called FixIt.  I couldn't get down there and he asked for credit card information.  I don't give any information and was able to use a browser to display the McAfee, then remove.  Then I used Malwarebytes to remove some other virus.  Not knowing what else to do, I tried to defrag and received an error message that my C: drive has been corrupted.

My CD Player no longer works and my computer has problems.  I thought that if I downloaded the FixIt problem, it could solve some of the problems it is to have my computer.  It won't work because I have not installed Service Pack 3.

When I try to intall Service Pack 3, it extracts files and brings me to setupwizard and then gets up to a certain point, and I get an error message as follows:

c:\windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe file is open or in use by another application.

I don't know what else to do.  I have everything turned off.  I tried to download and save to my desktop and it still won't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When I ran Process Explorer, I have disabled this file ntkrnlpa.exe.  I couldn't tell what was using this file - but I got the Google Redirect virus, so I thought that a virus has access to this file and prevents me from doing anything.  I don't know if that was the case, it was just my guess that it was what was going on.

It worked for me.  It temporarily disables this file and then you can install Service Pack 3.

I received instructions on my site quietfish.ca if you want to check.
