  • Select audio device Realtek as the in / out audio device

Whenever it starts, my ACER laptop displays the following message... «to enable the audio switch function, select the audio device Realtek as the audio in / out device.» At the same time, a box opens upward with three tabs, reading, recording and sound. A device high definition audio is defined as default as usual... I don't understand what he's asking me to set up.  I tried to reinstall the audio driver and the sound works ok, but the rest of this annoying message.  I am running Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2 installed. Response of the technical service was Acer... Wipe your hard drive and reinstall windows!

    Hello

Check if your default audio device is set to realtek.

    1. click on start, type Sound in the box to start the search.

    2. click on sound in the results of search at the top of the start menu.

    3. click on the tab reading notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is speakers. Make sure that the audio settings are configured as expected. Follow these steps:

    1. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and make sure that the default Format is set to the value you expect. When you are finished, close this window to return to the previous window.

    2. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click on configure and make sure that the configurations are set correctly.
If the sound settings are well positioned, you are using speakers as the audio device and your speakers are already set as the default device, go to method 5 now.

    4. If it is set to realtek change for speakers as the default audio device and then click on set as default.

    5. click OK to save your settings and close the sound dialog box.

Once done with the above step restart your computer and check if you experience the same problem.

Let us know if that helps.

Hmmm.  It's very strange.  For the experience, I tried to disconnect a sound card, while the SOUL is coding.  I get the message dialog box, but the encoding continues without stopping.  Eventually, this may be specific to certain sound cards.  What is your sound card that you have on your computer?

For a workaround, could you try checking the "do not show again" checkbox in the message dialog box next time you see it?  Then, click no you should not see this message again and I hope that this problem would disappear.

  • \\HOME-server is not accessible. A device attached to the system does not work.

I use Windows 7 Professional. My network server is WHS V1.

I have a shortcut on the desktop to \\HOME-SERVER on my W7 machine.
All of a sudden it has stopped working.
    I get the message
\\HOME-server is not accessible. You might not...
A device attached to the system does not work.

I found that the command line net view \\HOME-SEVER gives (and by typing this in an address bar of the Explorer does not work)
    31 system error has occurred.
A device attached to the system does not work.

And this net view \\HOME-SERVER\Music gives (but in typing this in a browser address bar works!)
    53 system error has occurred.
The network path was not found.
However, net view 192.168.1.99 (my server address) correctly list the share on the server names (and entering \\192.168.1.99 in Explorer address bar works).
I did a system restore until the problem occurred first to rule out any changes to the system.
    The problem occurred again.
This means that my Sync Center shows none of my synchronization partnerships.
Can anyone suggest the setting or service that must be corrected to solve system error 31 problem?
    TIA

  • App, opening a file via windows shell commands: "a device attached to the system does not work.

    Hello!

I hope that someone here will be able to throw some lights on my question, if I post this is the wrong place please let me know because I was directed here (which forum? ). OK, I support and develop custom applications. An older application especially written in Delphi allows users to attached documents (pdf, jpg, txt, etc.) to the records of equipment in a data base. Later users can view these records of equipment and press a button to display the document.

When the user presses the button to view the document, the application uses the folder variable to save the document to the temporary path and then asks windows via a shell command to open the file. The appeal of Delphi for windows used is the following:

    ShellExecute (GetDesktopWindow, 'open', PChar (TempFile), ",", SW_SHOWNORMAL);

Normally this process works very well, we have had no problems so far. On a single computer (windows xp pro with Service Pack 3) belonging to a client, instead of opening the file, windows returns the system 31 error and the message ""a device attached to the system is not functioning. ". is displayed.

    * If I navigate to the location where the file is stored on the disk and try to open it, software adobe reader opens the file correctly.

    * I found some suggestions that the file extension is associated properly. PDF associated with Notepad, I changed, and the application could ask windows to open the file very well. Open the file from the location on the work of disc as well. Change the file for adobe and the problem persisted.

    * I reinstalled adobe reader software, but also a previous version of adobe and the problem persisted.

    * The application doesn't have any problem asking other files opened, only those associated with adobe reader on this same machine. The problem does not exist on other machines.

That about sums up the problem. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Louis

It was determined that the version of adobe reader was at fault.

  • [SOLVED] "High Definition Audio Controller" could not be started. "No audio devices installed." The Device Manager has no controller "Sound and video game. Information system has nothing under "audio devices".

    Hello

I've had my laptop for 2 or 3 years, and the sound was always very well. Yesterday morning my computer came suddenly with the sound with a red X icon. She was not dumb, and yet no sound came. The sound options show that no audio or recording devices are installed (for disabled AND disconnected devices). There is no 'of sound devices or video game"in Device Manager. Information system shows no information (empty) under its device. However, in Device Manager, under system devices, "High Definition Audio Controller" has a yellow caution icon and cannot start.
I have not installed a new OS or anything recently.
    I have a Dell Inspiron 1545
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601 Build 7601)
    Pentium Dual-Core CPU
    64-bit operating system
    I tried:
    • Relocation and reactivation of "High Definition Audio Controller". I rebooted. No change.
    • Go to the Dell website, download audio drivers for my label service and installation. We decompress in the drivers folder and nothing happens. One will be unzip, try to take me by another plant for IDT Audio and then say 'the hardware found is not supported by this IDT' and is abandoned. I rebooted. No change.
    • Install drivers in safe mode. I rebooted. No change.
    • In administrative tools > Services, I found "Windows Audio". He had started and was on "auto". Six of its dependencies (3 parents, 3 children) had started and were to "automatic".
    • I looked at the system restore. There was a "critical update" this morning here. I restored to a point before update and restarted. No change.
    • Looked in the BIOS for an option on the sound, but could not find one. Restore the BIOS default and rebooted. No change.
    • Ran Microsoft Fix It I rebooted. No change.
    • By clicking on the audio task bar icon runs the diagnostic window thing. It detects a problem with the description: "material changes may not have been detected.
    • Put on the headphones. Nothing changes.
I'll probably have to do a fresh install, am I not?
I would be very grateful if you could help, thanks.
    Jerome

    Right, I fixed it myself.

So I uninstalled "High Definition Audio Controller".
But this time, instead of just turning it back on and let it install it himself, I clicked on "Analysis of the hardware changes" (under the Action). He finds that a new device called PCI something under other devices.

Then I open up Windows Update and click on search for new updates (it also analyzes the drivers) and I think it just automatically reinstall "controller Audio high definition" and then there was no problem of yellow warning sign thing.

If it does not, simply play in Device Manager with looking for changes on the hardware and the update of bollocks.

If you're still stuck, try "Add inherited harware" (this will install an OLD device), click Advanced, click on "sound devices" and video games, wait a while, find a suitable device and continue the process...

  • Missing Audio device (Microphone) on the Satellite A500-026 (PSAR2A 026002)

    Hello list!

I have a laptop A500-026 Toshiba for presentations (via overhead projector) and internet communications (Skype, etc.).

At a recent presentation, I was using the internal speakers of the place (plug in the line-out jack on my A500), but to receive a feedback from my microphone, I had used successfully in my Skype (using the built-in webcam and microphone on the A500). I tried all the solutions to cut the microphone (by selecting RIGHT click the speaker icon - recording devices do not seem to cut the Microphone) and finally the pressure and the stress of the situation too rolled my given what I was actually doing.

Now, I don't have ANY "recording devices" AKA Microphones on the system, and I spent the last 4 days trying to reinstall the built-in microphone. I reinstalled the RealTek drivers, but there is still none identified microphone.

All help to restore the built-in microphone of A500 would be accepted with gratitude!

    Megan in Sydney

    Hello

You should check if the microphone has not been disabled.

Go to control panel of-> sound-> recording tab
You need to right click and must enable both options called hidden devices and see the disabled devices.
Now you should see 2 microphone inputs; a second and internal microphone should belong to the external microphone jack.

If you want to use the internal microphone and then mark it as a default device.

    See you soon
