Audio optical

I just upgraded from the Apple TV 2 to Apple TV 4.  I used Audio optical ATV 2 to connect to my speaker system.  It is not an Audio perspective on the ATV 4 port.  How can I connect now?

  • How to make my computer send all audio data via an optical audio cable instead of making headphones?

    Howdy,

To listen to the radio online or CD played from my computer, I used to connect the computer to my entertainment system at home since the headphone jack of the computer to the port on my home entertainment system.

Now, I wanted to get a better sound and bought the optical audio cable. However, I don't know how to tell my computer to send the audio signal to the system entertainmeny home via digital cable optical, rather than by the headphone. If I just disconnect the cable between the headphone and the port to THE and have only the PC and the system connected with the optical audio cable, I can't hear any sound. I suspect that the computer is not sending the data through the optical audio port. I'm not able to figure out how I can adjust the settings on my computer so that, from now on, all sounds are emitted through the optical audio.

    (1) I want to do it especially for my desktop HP (configuration below) and advice on how to do this would be appreciated.

    (2) I also have a HP laptop (configuration below) and I was wondering if this would be feasible too (even if she does not have an audio output, but it has an HDMI output - you can convert audio optical?)

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @_goma,.

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I read your post about how you want to send all the audio data via an optical audio cable instead of the headphone jack of your computer, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

To configure your desktop computer to activate the optical audio cable, I advise you to follow the steps below:

Step 1. Click on the button of the Windows key on your desktop

    Step 2. Type "Control Panel."

Step 3. Select "Control Panel" in the upper right corner

    Step 4. Select sound

Step 5. On the Read tab, right click on the white box under available devices

Step 6. Select "Show disabled" and "show disconnected devices".

Step 7. Connect your Audio optical cable

Step 8. Select your cable Audio perspective as the default device, and click 'enable '.

Because it is not possible to convert the audio output HDMI output on your laptop, it is regrettable that the laptop is not able to connect with an optical audio cable.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

Yes, the optical port of the TV would be able to sound output from devices connected using HDMI connection. Make sure that the settings on the source device is set to 5.1 surround sound output.

  • Connection S/PDIF on Qosmio F30-111

Hello, I need some information on the use of the digital audio output on qosmio.

It seems to have a 3.5 s/pdif out Jack (shared with headphones).

There are 2 audio cables type digital: toslink optical and coaxial 75 Ohm RCA.

Is possible to use a coaxial cable with a 3, 5 mm jack to RCA converter?
Or the only way is to use a cable with 3.5 jack converter toslink optical?

    It's RCA-> Jack 3, 5mm Converter: http://aka.fotovista.com/dev/3/3/46000533/g_46000533.jpg
It's cable Toslink, Jack 3, 5mm converter and more: http://aka.fotovista.com/dev/7/5/46000157/g_46000157.jpg

I'm not an audio specification, but I found some interesting info:

    (1) coaxial RCA is the most popular Digital Audio connection. Cables and connectors have an impedance of 75 Ohm and used to connect DVD players, CD and some DAT recorders to multi-channel surround sound (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc) equipment. RCA is often replaced by BNC connections on certain high end equipment.
    (2) Toslink is a coaxial digital audio connection fiber optical version and is used in the same applications as the coaxial. Most of the newer devices has a connection to toslink cables. In applications where the source or receiver has only coaxial connections the signal can be converted to Toslink using a decoder.

In my opinion if you want to use the SPDIF digital audio output, so you must use cable Audio optical Toslink/SPDIF.

I have a big problem that I can't explain...: (when I plug my audio system (engineering 150W 5 + 1), not always, but in 90% I hear a boring resemble radio frequency... If a plug-in my pc there is no problem... If I do not connect on my htc even no problem is my system a lot for my sound card?

When my laptop is on the main speakers, the sound disappears once again, if I plug stereo speakers, even no problem.
Pls help... Sorry for my bad English :(

To be honest I n don't know how you can use System 5.1 with your laptop. As far as I know on most laptops, you can only use the 2.1 System.
At your audio optical output port Satellite?

It's really interesting question and I would like to hear this radio frequency.

Have you tested with and without power supply. Is there a difference?

New Apple TV has always distorted sound after 45 to 60 minutes. Cable audio optical is the problem? If so, why Apple does not provide a solution? With more audio systems providing users in this regard, Apple TV will be frustrated.

You will need to provide more information. I have no idea of what your problem is or what suggestions to provide. What does "always wrong"?  Since the most recent ATV is not optical - should we assume that you have an older ATV or you use optics to power your receiver via the optical output of the TV?

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-510 t - two monitors?

    Hello forum!

For work I'll put up a brand new, out-of-the-box, desktop Pavilion Elite HPE - 510 t series, and I'm supposed to put up with two monitors. The monitors are both monitors HP 21 "(not sure model number, but pretty sure this info is irrelevant.) Both monitors have a DVI and a VGA output each.

The problem is... I don't know if the computer can get out to two monitors. I mean, I think it can its such a new computer and the plug about it being very respectable. But at the back of the system, the only entries that I see are:

    1 HDMI

    1 DVI

assortment of 6 audio inputs (speaker, microphone, etc.).

    1 Ethernet

    4 USB PORTS

    and something audio optical

But there is also what appears to be two locations that are "closed" for lack of another word. One is what appears to be a DVI input but with a screwed in black plastic piece. I guess I should remove the plastic and it would be an another DVI but on the plastic was the words "DO NOT REMOVE" so I left alone. The other location is what seems to be a HDMI slot with a black piece of plastic glued to the front.

The computer is capable of ouputting to two monitors?

    and

    What are those waterproof slots?

Good luck with your responses and thanks in advance,

There's a HMDI.  Use a HMDI on DVI connector.  Not very expensive.  Make sure you have the right sex on each end or cable/connector.  See the Big Dave det-related article it upward.

  • DAV-c700

I have an old home theater, DAV-C700 system. I just got a blu - ray player and I was wondering if this system is able to provide audio for the LG BD590 blu - ray player. I'm not really in a position to buy a new receiver and intervene right now so I was hoping I could get by with the DAV-C700. Thank you.

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum.

Your Blu - ray player has a digital audio optical and DAV-C700 has a digital audio optical, then I recommend this as the best method to connect the two devices together.

  • Apple TV4 - what happened to the optical audio output?

I can't not all sound thanks to my new Apple TV 4 to the Bar SONOS Play which is hooked up to my TV Sony Bravia KDL - 52S 4100.    But my Apple TV 3 offer a perfect for the SONOS via port Audio perspective of the Apple TV 3 (which Apple seems to have failed on the Apple TV 4).   Apparently a number of TV top of range before the era of "Smart TV" does not deliver audio via their HDMI ports.    This failure to design was easily corrected by connecting an optical cable between the port of the Apple TV Optical Audio in SONOS optical input Port.    No Apple eliminated the possibility to connect a SONOS in this latest edition of the Apple TV?    .

probably the deleted the connector because they judged little used

  • 52 "Regza TV Audio - HDMI-output optical audio problem does not

    Hello

friend of mine has a Regza 52 "LCD TV.
She's trying to connect its apple TV & Optus Fetch device (cable TV) on the HDMI inputs and then having the audio outpot of optical fiber audio outpot to his BOSE amplifier.

My understanding is that when you select an HDMI input, then the video and audio must be addressed.
So you should see the video on the HDMI channel and need to hear the sound.

What is happening is that she sees the video selected on the HDMI channel, but not audio, the sound heard is actually free in the atmosphere of television station that had been retained.

We tried all the TV menu options successfully.

How do we get the optical audio output to be on the instructions of the HDMI input?

    Thanks for the help
    Peter

    Hi Peter

All this should not be so complicated. Using an HDMI cable, you can transmit video and audio to external device to TV signals. For example, if you use the HDMI 1 port and turn on the V you should see the picture and hear the sound of the TV.

For audio, you can use an external device like Hi-Fi receiver or this BOSE amplifier. Using the optical audio output of fiber on your TV, you should hear the TV sound look no matter what external device is the source or which channel you. What you see on the TV the sound comes through this amplifier.

I have this BOSE unit, but all I know is that when you want to hear his amplifier the right port or channel must be enabled there.

I use my Toshiba TV connected to the Yamaha V537 amplifier with optical cable and it is listed under AV4 port. So when I want to hear the sound on my Yamaha I need to enable port AV4 on it and its is here.
Some additional settings on the TV are not necessary. Optical output on the TV is always on (see the red light on the inside).

Check this please on BOSE amplifier.

  • Optical Audio Jack on a Terminal Airport Express, which digital optical connector/adapter is necessary?

Optical Audio Jack on a pattern common Airport Express (model A1392, purchase of 2015) - digital optical connector/adapter is necessary?  My stereo has a TOS connector, but I'm not familiar with the analog/optical socket on the side of the airport.  What type of cable connector does?

It's called a mini-TOSlink. It has the same dimensions as a headphone jack 3.5 mm, but it is simply a small tube. You can buy adapters to the mini jack to the TOSlink Jack standard to stick on the end of a normal wire, or lead with a type at each end. Some equipped trails a couple of detachable adapters provided.
