Audiobook mp3s of sorting

Hi, I have Word of biblical promise. Basically, each book is a folder that contains the respective chapters in the folder (mp3 format). The problem is that if I copy the folder above audio books only the first chapter is available. If I copy the music it is is more set per file. Essentially, I want to go to the record of Matthew and in it, I want to be able to access all of the individual chapters in Matthew. in mark I want access to all the individual chapters of Mark. Now in a book audio I have access to Matthew Chapter 1 and Chapter 1 mark although there are several individual mp3s within these folders. If I copy these music files each individual mp3's available unclassified by folder. Ant advice on how to do this would be appreciated. Thank you.

First of all, it is useful to know if you have an original Clip or Clip +.  Your player has a slot for a microSD on the right side as you look at it?  Furthermore, the on/off switch is a button at the top?  If so, you have a Clip +.  (If the on/off switch is a slider on the left of the drive, you have an original Clip.)

If you have a Clip +, you can play as your files on your computer, through the names of files and folders.  See my previous comment that precedes, in this case.  If you have an original Video Clip, you can not do - folder view and playing only works on the Clip +.

Second, if you have an original Clip and cannot make navigation in files, or if you have a Clip + and do not want, you need to change/add your ID3 tags.  Outside view/navigation in files, Clips usually use ID3 tags to organize what you can choose to play.  ID3 tags are bits of information put into music and files of spoken word, which indicate aspects of files, in general, name, name of the album/book, artist, genre, year and no..  Even if the file names of the files are correct, if the ID3 info. is incorrect, things are mixed up, as is the ID3 tags that are used to organize and display.

The good news is, your ID3 tags can easily be added and fixed, more easily with a tag like MP3Tag Editor (easily available freeware Internet: http://www.mp3tag.de/en/).  Windows also allows you to edit the information of ID3 tag under the screen of properties for files (but it is easier to work with labels, often with a dedicated tag editor).

The Clips have an exception to the use of ID3 tags for navigation and display: for untagged files (I think; I don't think that this works if files have tags, but I could be wrong) put into records audio books or Podcasts on the Clip, or to files stored elsewhere on the Clip, but who have the tag type information with the word Podcast or audiobook, the Clips using the names of folders and files for navigation and for display.

So the short answer (long?) is: If you have a Clip +, you can use the option of folders under the music section to navigate.  Otherwise, you need to manage your ID3 tags and change them so that it contains the correct information, for purposes of Organization (or in the case otherwise, you need to adjust/remove (possibly) tags and files on the Clip was part of the above exception).

It takes a little while to get this, but then it becomes pretty automatic.  I hope this helps.

  • Support ID3 tag to determine the order of play

    Hello

I read about the problems, the Clip has in getting the correct reading order, for example here, but I can't seem to make it work. Audiobook mp3s are labeled with ID3v1.1, ID3v2.3. I tried to use Mp3tag to set the ID3v2.3 to ISO-8859-1. All files have the same name of Album, athletics # a value XXX/YYY (ex: 001/145) for ID3v2.3 and 1, 2, 3... 145 for ID3v1.1. Title tags are on 'Track 001', «track 002"...»

I can't understand why the files do not play in order...    Anyone have any ideas?  (except using playlist, because I won't be forced using that)

Does anyone have any idea on when this new version of the firmware (which is supposed to solve these problems) is to come?  Someone wrote a few weeks it would probably come out in a few weeks ago...

    Sincerely,

    Carl

P.S. If Sandisk won't spend enough money to keep the amount of programmers needed to produce firmware quickly and efficiently, perhaps Sandisk should consider assisting people to Rockbox on so that users with higher applications can use their software instead. I understand that Sandisk is not a) distribute detailed information on everything about their players and b) vouch for the security/stability of Rockbox. But it doesn't have to be a problem. SanDisk could leave small fractions of the information (which is necessary for Rockbox crew clear some obstacles) and Sandisk could also say that 'we cannot guarantee that any other firmware that ours will work with our players and if you use a different firmware, for example Rockbox Sandisk warranty sucks." It's all good - as long as those of us who have demands more high on firmware get a solution that responds to that!  I think of things like the id3 support to reading to work order and the ability to adjust different parameters, for example the speed of the titles of the songs that are too wide for display.

    Hello again,

After countless hours of research and testing, I now realized in the order in which the Clip plays the tracks when using firmware 02.01.16 (I really hope a new firmware that corrects these problems is available soon, as promised).

As has been set out in the thread I linked at the earliest:

When no id3v2 tag is present, the titles are sorted by sequence numbers rightmost in the name of the file.

However, I used id3v2.3 tag to ISO, as is the recommended version that the firmware currently supports a little OK. The problem I had, however, was that I used numbers track such as "001/145" and not only "001". Now, according to id3.org, using a character ' / ' followed by a string of numbers to indicate the size of the entire securities is valid standard id3v2.3 - but obviously the Clip doesn't respect that. I hope that this is also fixed with the next version of the firmware.

    Kind regards

    Carl

P.S., Why should I do research/test so to find something as simple as that? Where is the complete guide, published by Sandisk, which covers these things? Here again, questions such as these id3 problems should have be fixed early on (making the chapter in the guide on relatively short tracks sorting).

P.P.S. I was serious about the suggestion of Rockbox: thinking outside the box! Provide assistance to the crew of Rockbox, without revealing a lot of sensitive information (trade secrets), and without having to officially support Rockbox should be possible - and that would be actually a selling point to many users who want to buy a mp3 player which allows more freedom of choice. Dare to be different!

[edit: I put this thread as "Resolved", even if the underlying problem (the clip tag id3 support) is far from solved.]

  • Cannot get new SanDisk Clip Sport to turn on

I have a brand new Sport Clip... responsible for an audiobook mp3 top... He listened for 1-2 hours a night. Worked very well! Next night, I could not activate it. Heard that there is no adjustment on this Sport Clip. Connected to the computer for 2-3 hours... still nothing. Any suggestions?

Reset is the select button / power center for 20 sec. Also plug it into USB should activate as well. If you did the zero setting and it's still not coming it would seem that it is bad and would need to be replaced.

  • 8 GB clip do not find files

    Hello

I have a new 8 GB Sansa Clip which was not recognized by my PC Win XP. I plugged on another Win XP PC and it was recognized at that time here I updated the firmware to the version.35.  He always has been not recognized by my PC until I put the Canada Meteorological Service USB mode (automatic detection and modes of the PSG did not work).  I copied several audiobook mp3 files in the folder of audio books on the clip. When I disconnect the Clip it is said it is refreshing my media, but when I turn it on it does not find the audio books folder.

I also note that when connected to the PC, the folder structure appears (Audible files, audio books, music, Podcasts and recording) but except files that I copied in the audio books folder, all other folders are empty. The Clip has some music files for demo on it that came pre-installed that he'll play, but I don't see them in the directory such as seen from the PC. On the Clip itself the choice of the home screen is music, FM Radio, voice and parameters (not audio books).

I'm sure I'm missing something very simple. Anyone know what this could be?

    Thank you

    John

    > Explorer Windows and MSC mode are the easiest and more no problem to do so.

Good deal. Now, my next challenge is to get my files .aax for play on the Clip, but that will be another matter.

Thank you very much, again. Your responses are quick and useful.

  • Clip + trash characters in option of the help files?

I just received my Clip + to replace my Muvo Tx Fm recently dead (and much loved).  So far, I'm pretty happy with it.  I came across a problem however.

The reason why I liked the Muvo (and I bought the Clip +) because I didn't want to screw with any stupid software.  I keep my .mp3 players sorted by artist name/Album (with the albums being scored by the year they were released) on my computer.

Then I copied a bunch of albums in my new Clip + today and the 50, a good 45ish were very good.  But some had altered the names of folders, which made it difficult to see what they were and hard to find.  For example - my REM album should look like the following:

    Chronic town 1982

    Whisper 1983

    Reckoning 1984

    1985 fables of the Reconstruction

But Fables is damaged for some reason any.  And appears on the player liks this: "29000000 1985 Fables of the Reconstruction."  Obviously the 29 million is not really in the name of the folder that I copied.  A few other albums are similarly corrupt with numbers of giants.  So that when I preuse the directory of files that they are all placed at the end, and I have to pause on them so that the player scrolls over to reveal the real name.

Is not a dealbreaker by any means, but it's a boring and curious mistake.   Anyone have any ideas on what causes it, or how to fix it?  Thank you!

Try to switch to USB mode of the clamp under the player, Weather Service settings of the Canada.  That should do the trick.

  • Burning protected audiobook to MP3

    Hello

so I bought an audiobook for my grandmother, because she can't listen on mp3 cd, I need to burn/convert it.

I thought it would be easy...

Now I can't burn itunes audio book, I received a "files iTunes Store cannot be burned onto a CD MP3."

I tried to convert it to MP3 format, received "cannot be converted because protected files cannot be converted to other formats."

so I tried to convert it to AAC, could not explain why I want, but again and received the same message exactly as MP3.

    Maybe I'm just wrong...

can I burn this CD mp3 audio book (while keeping the chapters, if possible, privileged...)?

    and how?

    I'm on Yosemite 10.10.4

and my iTunes version is 12.2.1.16

In my opinion, they are not up-to-date, I usually don't update unless I have to, I don't care if this could be the problem, but I tend to believe that this isn't...

Audio books from the iTunes Store uses DRM (copy protection) as required by the content producers.  You cannot use the command to create a new Version on items that have DRM that prevents it.

Now I can't burn itunes audio book, I received a "files iTunes Store cannot be burned onto a CD MP3."

MP3 CD?  It can work if you select Audio CD as the Disc Format.

  • Sorting Fix audiobook? Sansa Fuze + Firmware 02.38.06

I was not able to see that books audio sorting has changed.    If anyone has seen a change, Please tell me what has changed.

It always seems that this audiobook section is designed for one type of book, I did not.  I asked for an answer that someone use now, the audio book - as is.   I use the podcast section to read books.  If there is a way to make use of the section of audio book, please tell me how.  Where can I get the audio books that this section has been designed to read the.

Reflection on mine, I just conclude that the audiobook section is only good for one book at a time.  It's the kind of books that I could download for free.   One drawback is that you share bookmarks with the Podcast section.   This section is not worth fixing.

It seems that the intention was to use the podcast of audio books section.  The current audio book section has been added just to say that there is a section of the audio book.

I listen to audiobooks from 90 to 120 minutes, 6 days a week.  The podcast section works for audio books and this section has the speed controller.

My point is this, no minor corrections should be made to the section of audio book.

  • transfer the software mp3 sony = error-overdrive overdrive audiobook suggests deleting internet files in firefox partition does not work

start down load an audio book on MP3 players from sony at the local library. They use overdrive and I followed the instructions and downloads of the book for the overdrive media console software. But when I try to transferred it to the player it comes up with an error = x8005400t-license does not exist. Overdrive suggest the updated media player which I did and then delete the files temporary Internet in firefox, not sure how and the library could not do that either. Thanks for any help

    Hi malcolm_henry,

From what you describe, you receive an error message when you run OverDrive and attempt to transfer the music files on your SONY reader, are - this correct?

If so, the issue is probably with OverDrive, and you should contact their support of clarification on what means the error message:

Please let us know if this is not the case.

  • How to mark a file mp3, audiobooks

I use my Clip + to download and listen to audio books from Overdrive libraray. Periodically, some books will download correctly, but when I transfer them to the player (using a Mac) they places in the music/books/unknown file. Today, I downloaded 2 books and they both ending up with alternating files.

I tried to rename the files with the 01 sequence, but it has no effect. I tried to move the folder of the book Podcasts, without change. I tried to move the folder from the book of audio books entirely, without change. I check the files in the Finder and as far as I know they all have the same information, so I don't understand where or this marking info I'm looking for. It is available in the Finder? To get info?

I looked in the forums to answer this question, and the answers seem to lead to "modify the markup files. Honestly, I don't know how or what it involves. Answers assume some familiarity with the process that I don't have.

Can someone please provide Guide for do this idiot? Picture of me a young child who gets the keys to the car and says to put air in the tires - the first step, open the door, second step, put the key in the ignition. What is inflammation? I ask.

Thank you very much and please no sarcastic remarks, I use computers for 20 years and I am on my 5th player, owner of an iphone and an ipad and know to use also, don't assume that I am a fool. I don't know what the labelling is as I used it during the registration of the Etsy products.

Unless you scroll music and go into folders, the Sansa reads ID3 tags, no names. ID3 tags are electronic tags in the file name of the track of the Album, artist, and more importantly for you, kind (audio books).

In iTunes, you can watch Get Info. Tells you what is in the tags

You can correct one by one with Get Info. It would be tedious.

So take them off the Sansa and fix them on the computer.

Since you are in the land of Mac, you should probably get kid3, a free tag editor.

    http://kid3.sourceforge.NET/

Install it, open it, go to settings and configure Kid3.   Just do it once.  Under tags, you will see tabs 1 and 2 of the tag Tag. Open each and choose ISO-8859-1 for text encoding. It's the different text Windows, Apple display. Also choose ID3 version 2.3. Make sure that save you those.

Use the file to open a folder of audio books. Highlight all the, do the kind of books. Make any other changes that seems sensible to you: make sure that the track numbers are in order, etc. Save them, which will make them ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1, easy to Sansa.

It sounds complicated, but once you have Kid3 installed, all you have to do is open an audiobook file, make a fix in bulk of the kind or whatever it is you need, save it and send it to the wire. Less than a minute for each new book - and probably more like 20 seconds.

Don't forget to put the cap on the valve, after completing the tire

  • How can I sort MP3 files in folders by Genre?

I transferred a lot of old time radio programs in the Sansa View. Each is in a different folder... but I can't see them in the view of some sort with the exception of a long list of music and radio programs mixed together.  I tried to update the files in the music folder and seeing that he had a 'Old Time Radio' category in the music sorter, I created a folder named Old Time Radio and moved them in it - but it does not help.

I tried to organize them in Windows Media Player, but the attempt reminded me once again that WMP is the single most useless program ever created - nothing works like it shoud and each function is different from any other Windows program, I've never used.  I can't even create a playlist in it.

Is it possible to set up these radio programs so that when I select music and watch Genres - Old Time Radio is down there, but I don't have the slightest idea how to see these programs.

    Thank you...

Try to use mediamonkey. Very good software for marking and sorting of the files. There is a free version available

    I can't find:

    a. the pause and restart where I stopped.

    b. how to set bookmarks to go back where you left off.

I would appreciate any help with the above. I've been through the manual and found no answers.

    Thank you

The pause button is the same as the play button. If you make a pause the player then turn it off, the player will pick up where you left off when you turn it on and press play. If your audio files are in books audio folder on the drive or they have audio book like the kind, so if you stop and play other files, the player will give you a choice to continue or start from the beginning when a partially played folder is selected.

  • Audiobook 'lost '.

When my Sansa Clip + is connected to my computer, all my audio books (using windows Explorer) appear in normal mode.

My last downloaded audiobook displays correctly with the other audio books on your computer.

When the sansa clip + is removed from the computer the last downloaded audiobook does not appear (in the menu music - audiobooks) with other audio books.

    lhenry wrote:

This is not the same thing as ID3 tags. You refer to file names. An ID3 tag is a container type of meta data used to store information about an MP3 file in the file audio itself. Learn more.

All Sansa mp3 players (and most other brands like many these days) sort and display their tag ID3, NOT file names database. The most often recommended ID3 tag editor is MP3Tag. It's free and very easy to use to correct or modify your tags if inconsistencies or errors. In addition, there are literally hundreds of discussions, advice and opinions on the program and the ID3 tags in general here on the forum, and hundreds more on other sites.

  • Audio-books sorted by title.

All my writings and half of the classic audio books I have download for free are not playing in the right order on the fuse +.  I loaded the book of Mormon.  He played first in the introduction section.  The first file is 1Nephi Chapter 1.  The next is not 1Nephi Chapter 2.  This is chapter 10.   The same issues are seen in the Old Testament.    If I load the first few books I get Deuteronomy and exodus before Genesis.  Also, I get the chapters 1, 10, 19, 2, 3 and 4.

Fuse + seems to sort the audio/podcast books by title.  If the same books are moved to the section of the fuse music + they play in order.  Maybe this section uses the name of the file or folder.

http://lds.org/mp3/display/0, 18692, 5297-62, 00.html is the place for test files.

The old fuse doesn't have this problem.  I suggest you copy the same files to each player.  The Old Testament has 1 003 files.

It would be nice if you could hold the arrow down for 3 seconds and force the reader to jump 20 files per second for the first ten seconds and 50 entries a second from here on out.

I have thought that the fuse + resorted file by file name, once you have moved the music podcast file.  I was wrong. It replaces the title with the name of the file.  That is why all the books I've downloaded in the past 5 months have played perfectly after I moved it.  I looked at one of the books I moved and the titles exactly the same as the name of the file.  We have the fixer title lazy perfect in the reader.  That's why I'm sure that books with the incorrect file names is a mythical creature.

If the fuse + sort of audio books / podcast by file by file name and display the title, all the files that I have would play perfectly and the title would not have to be fixed to play.  I noticed at 80% of my books have titles that are ok now.  It was the 20 percent that was originally 80% of my pain of sort.

I saw a player who sorts MP3 files by file name and displays the title.  It's the fuse.  It is in the music section.  How do you think that it should be applied that logic to the book section on the next firmware updated?

I also discovered an easier way to get my files will appear in the podcast section without having to move them.  I changed the kind of all my books in podcast.  This causes my resident book in the music folder and play the podcast menu.  So more than this is 80% of the books that I load using WMP (Windows Media Player) to play in order and creative titles do not have to be deleted or affected.    When I want to see all the books on my player I look into the kind of podcast using WMP.  If the tiles are not perfect, I have to move it and let the person who reads the book tell me the titles.

Still seriously, I hope someone will take me to the top by looking at the album section for the design of the next section of audio book.  As I said 'Audiobook in Album view', the design of the section is ideal.  I agree that it would be good to keep the music and audiobook is menus separate.  Once the audiobook sections is reworked podcasts will have their own sections.  The first layer of the new audio book section would be identical to the podcast section. The next layer is where the magic happens.

Please, please, please, someone look at section album and comment, please.
