audiodg.exe uses extreme amounts of memory and is a memory leak

In my version of Win7, I noticed that the audiodg.exe problem since the days of Vista as posted here http://blogs.msdn.com/larryosterman/archive/2007/01/31/what-is-audiodg-exe.aspx have not been resolved to the extent of the audiodg.exe is concerned. I am exceeding 980 mb after that a few hours of computer work on my system and the CPU (3 hearts) gets POUNDED by this process later. Once I have kill the audiodg.exe in my system task manager becomes very fast and catchy as it should be. However, I lose all sound.

I have a card his Creative Labs X - Fi Xtreme with the latest drivers for Windows 7.

Why has this file and its inability to free the memory that should not have been treated for Windows 7? allocation of 980 mb on a 4 GB system for this driver file is ridiculous! I don't like how many bells and whistles your soundcard uses, it is an astronomical amount of memory it consumes and refuses to release back to the system.

ALT-tab between applications once this process is killed becomes as sensitive and night on my system.

PLEASE FIX THIS FILE!

I don't buy a preconfigured PC because they never are good imo. I have a Gigabyte mobo, 4 GB of memory Corsair (Dominator), graphics card Sapphire Radeon ATI 3870, Coolermaster HAF 932 case, 720 processor Phenom II AMD and Creative XFi Xtreme card sound w/Windows 7 drivers. All the drivers are always up-to-date for all. No overclocking (yet) done. Windows 7 Pro version version too.

I'll take a look at this link, but IMO there is a serious issue with the code in the audiodg.exe since Vista process that has not yet been fixed. Some ppl of things on report items is:

(1) system response extremely slow when alt-tabbing between applications because of the audiodg.exe process. (I've noticed this myself).
(2) sound recording causes gaps in the audio file created in the same period of 11ms audiodg.exe takes to dump its worker threads. (I have not checked myself that I have no noise, but this gentleman here can attest to this fact here .)
(3) use of the extremely exorbitant memory and memory leaks the audiodg.exe. (I've noticed myself and he checked with almost 1 GB of memory used on the file audiodg.exe)

I think your link above can be a good solution for this problem of using memory thank you (unless of course your Creative card uses Dolby Digital Live) to find but other issues (1 and 2) should always be addressed to people who have noticed them on this forum and others. I wll contact creative labs and pin them down on resources from misuse or from the memory of this asap services!

The related solution will not work if you are using Ventrilo (I have use a lot) so I'll also contact Creative as to what may be a problem with their services and how they interact with the file subsystem audiodg.exe.

  • audiodg.exe using WAYYY too much CPU...

A few days ago, I was using my computer as usual, and I noticed that my laptop was running slower than it normally does. I tried to watch several YouTube videos and the video played very choppy and generally slow. I am writing this, this problem is solved, but at the opening of the resources on my laptop monitor, I noticed that 'audiodg.exe' used about 65% of my CPU! When I didn't have any big program running, so I immediately set to find out what it was, only to discover he had something to do with my audio. I have no idea why it uses so much CPU, before that I didn't even know it existed because I have not had any problems with him. I tried several other solutions to this and nothing helped. And so, here I post this question: "Why use so much CPU"audiodg.exe"on my laptop, and what I can do to stop it?

[Already solved the problem myself to restore the system to an earlier date]

    Hi iFrankie2009,

    ·        Brief us the steps you tried to solve the problem.

Start your computer in aclean boot and check if the problem still persists. Link below will help you to start the computer in clean boot:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 if the problem not you can continue with step 2 from the link above. Make sure you reset the computer in normal mode in step 7

  • Audiodg.exe uses 99% processor

Audiodg.exe uses 99% of a CPU, even if I'm not playing music, watch video, or do everything related to audio.

Please don't tell me that disabling audio enhancements is the only solution. (For example: http://technicallyeasy.net/2009/03/fix-audiodgexe-high-cpu-usage/) Disabling application functionality useful because Windows has a problem is no solution.

    And by the way:

    1. No new software installed recently.
    2. No help from resolution of performance problems.
    3. Not solved by a clean boot.
Did you visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware device and download the latest driver for combination of said hardware/OS and install them again?

I suggest you only do this if you do not have.

  • Firefox uses massive amounts of memory (up to 2 GB and more)

Firefox uses massive amounts of Ram, even when I have a tab open. It uses so much sometimes that my entire system freezes and crashes FF. I tried saving, deactivated all my plugins, but without success.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

  • Audiodg.exe using up a lot of CPU

I'm proud of me having a system well settled, I removed the 99% of the useless bloatware that is loaded into MSconfig, I disabled all unnecessary update services who have the audacity to create a windows service, I removed things in the party Run from the Windows registry and I disabled the additional bloatware and updates that had been in the Task Scheduler.

That leaves me with a constant of less than 1% CPU usage, of course, he jumps up and down from time to time when apps need but it is idling less than 1%, which was until recently.

Now (I'm guessing after a windows update (thanks so much Microsoft), I this service totally useless, poorly written, called AudioDG.exe after reset is installed it is sitting there, NOTHING do, but consuming a constant 1% of my system resources, while I used my PC, he captured 5%, I tried to close anything that could use his) , Web sites such as YouTube etc, but again, it takes memory.

Since 1982, I have always felt that Microsoft gives its programmers PC that is much too fast, they should work on the slowest PC so that they are encouraged to write effective and lean code

Does anyone know a way I can stunt this fake contender to the throne, if offers a value zero for me, nothing I didn't have before.

I don't know who wrote this sloppy code, but as Jeremy Clarkson, I think they should be removed at dawn and shooting, but I'll settle for a solution.

BTW, I tried all other solutions here on when AudioDG made a Columbine on your CPU processes.

There may be a fix for this. See one of them that applies.

  • CC in Photoshop using large amounts of memory with no file open

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the CC of Photoshop last updated who introduced the starting workspace.

The issue I'm having is that Photoshop is suck a non-pieuse amount of memory even when it is not an open file. Here is a screenshot to illustrate this:

    photoshop.jpg

I thought that the Workspace 'start' was the cause of this memory suck and disabled. I find does not Photoshop to use this memory for no apparent reason.

Someone can help me understand why Photoshop behaves in this way and how to prevent that the program uses this memory when there is not all the files open within the program?

    Thank you

    James

That's when you start Photoshop, or have you been using Photoshop to process documents and have save and close so now them nothing is open in Photoshop?

If you have used Photoshop and Photoshop was in need of more memory to work on your documents and distributed.  Photoshop is programmed to manage the resources it allocates your system. Photoshop will return any memory allocated to word processing document until you close Photoshop.  Photoshop will reuse memory is allocated and now manages.

When you close Photoshop. Photoshop will return all memory and scratch disk space than that allocated to your operating system. I use the workspace of departure.  When I open Photoshop, I see using Photoshop like 761 MB of Ram.  I create a document and Photoshop is now handle 13 GB of my highest RAM, I never saw him use was close to 30 GB, which is close to the limit, I have set my preferences. I closed that very large, much later than the document so everything is now open in Photoshop is my Clipboard document, I have two screen Capture layer and will have 3 layers of screen capture.   You can see Photoshop working together is still 13 GB.

Note You can use the Edit > purge > point and Photoshop will return it manages resources.    I drove CC 2015 to use 27 GB of Ram.  When I used Edit > Purge > all I received a warning message that it can not be canceled if you continue. I have Photoshop do the purge by the use of Photoshop Ram went from 27 GB to 1.9 GB.

  • Scchose.exe use of the high ram and RAM ghost.

I recently updated my 12GB to 16GB ram then I noticed Svchost .exe raised usuage (389 848 KB) RAM, the process is bound to Wlansvc UxSms, TrkWks, SysMain, PcaSvc, Netman, hidserv, AudioEndpointBuilder. All with PID 1480.

Also the use of the ram in the task manager must be wrong, since the use of the ram is not were close to 55% of total ram installed (8 GB).

The system seems clean so scanned by McAfee and Windows Security Essentials.

Well actually, after I done things as checked all disks and reinstalled the MacAfee and a few other drivers. Use you RAM has improved somewhat (30% off), since there is not much question now and running while trying to save the settings actually used resources more CPU and RAM I wanted (can not play LoL and slow navigation on IE). So I guess for now I'll put that aside until I have again RAM RAM (16 GB is maximum, you can get on a laptop I think).

However I discovered that when I hit F8 and try to repair windows. It will slide in to bluescreen says unmountable_boot_volume... I guess I'm going to have to look into that one.

  • Computer runs slowly, several instances of dllhost.exe and svchost.exe consumes large amounts of CPU and RAM, please help!

So it is currently 05:49 where I am right now and I've lost sleep over this issue these days.  My computer went from fast to slow apparently all night and I cannot understand why.  I downloaded Malwarebytes and ESET Nod 32 Antivirus free and I have Avira.  I have scoured the sysinternals Process Explorer and cannot find the root of the problem, and I just need someone better than me to help me with this problem.  I will follow all rules or guidelines, I'd really appreciate just for help!  Thank you!

I mean not kind of, but not in a concrete way.  I backed up all my hard drive on a USB of terra, reset my computer at the store settings, basically wiping and just re - download the essential.  In fact, it works better than ever, now that it is cluttered with.  It seems barbaric, but he did a lot.

  • Why scvhost.exe uses 75% of the physical memory of my laptop?

I noticed recently that scvhost.exe a host process for windows, use more than 75% of the physical memory of my computers, usually at about 106, 000 k, it's not normal that my system and it slows down my system, I regularly keep my PC, because I use it regularly at the College and put it on standby saves time as the stopping and starting of the system again Is there a version of the patch that will prevent scvhost.exe to use lots of physical memory.

    Thank you very much.

Something more about this problem? Still facing this problem where svchost.exe takes too much memory. :(

Edit: I deactivated "Generator Windows Audio endpoint" in services.msc and the problem disappeared. This servise is to control audio devices but I have a Realtek sound card and I installed the latest drivers for it and the sound works & speakers.
Hope that helps anyone who has similar problems.
Edit2: after as I restared, svchost.exe still using a lot of memory, but now it is linked with cscservise. Do not know what is happening right now. Anyone?
Edit3: I did some research on the Internet and came up with this SuperFetch service. After you disable it in the Manager of tasks, svchost.exe became normal and he did not use this amount of memory. Also, I disable it in services.msc and I hope it will work as good as it was.
Just do not know why this problem occurred, where. I didn't install anything recently except Battlefield 3.
  • Why system32\svchost.exe using too much memory

My computer freezes several times a day.  I have to wait several minutes to get it working again.  When it starts up, it shows a window saying c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe uses a lot of memory.  What is the cause for this?

    Hi Cyndy62,

    1. When did you start to question?

2 did you a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

    3. This occurs when you use a specific application or all applications?

    Step 1:

You can check in safe mode and check if it uses the same energy...

Start your computer in safe mode

    Step 2:

If you are not faced with the question in safe mode, then you can try to perform a clean boot and see if it helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

After the troubleshooting steps, please refer to clean the boot link to put the computer to normal startup mode.

  • Csrss.exe usage reports of different memory with the different commmands... Help!

I currently work on my desktop control on some performance issues and came to CSRSS. EXE which is supposed to be a process that is legitimate, but also known to be a malware. But when I check on command prompt: tasklist reports csrss.exe using 5 k of memory, but when I run: status running tasklist/v/fi "eq" it signals using 11 540 K mem. its use?
Any ideas as to why his reports differently? Help, please.

    Hello

Csrss.exe is an essential component of the Microsoft windows operating system. It stands for Microsoft Client/Server Runtime Server Subsystem. This process is responsible for dealing with the majority of the windows interface.

Csrss.exe is a process which belongs to Microsoft Corporation. However, some malware programs install and use a process with the same name in an effort to be detected. So, you will want to determine whether the instance of csrss.exe running on your computer belongs to Microsoft Corporation or a malicious program and take appropriate action.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check to see if the same problem happens.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

  • Audiodg.exe Help!

When I play games I use Skype to talk with friends. I went the process to see if something was taking up a lot because there was some lag and seen that this file Audiodg.exe used 15-20 on my CPU space. I looked and found some stuff on this subject on early versions of windows, but nothing about Windows 8. Any help?

    PP

Audiodg can cuase over-reliance on the cpu, especially if several "improvements" (things like surround sound, etc.) are used.  It happens on some machines that do not have a discrete sound card.

We cannot say whether the 15-20% is a lot because we do not have your system specs.  More information please.
