  So, I had this PC for about 3 years now, and even more. Since this computer was bought so long ago and not even by me, but my mother, I don't know where all the CD or have papers for it. I read everywhere and I'm not entirely sure what I need to do about it because it seems that there are many different solutions to this problem. The only new thing I added to this computer was wifi. I added a TP-Link 450 Mbps Wireless-N dual band PCI Express Adapter. TL-WDN4800 model number. I had to open the computer, put it in and install the stuff that goes with it. I did about a week or two before this message starts to appear. I don't know if this could be the reason for the message «this computer is not running genuine windows...» "is displayed.

  Yes. HP lock the BIOS, and if you install something else very accurate wifi adapters the system will not DISPLAY. You are right in thinking the Ralink is not the best option. Your best bet is Atheros and Intel in that order. Broadcom cards are a bit difficult to configure with Linux, but it can be done. Here is the complete list of the wifi cards with part numbers that you can use:

  I just purhcased a HP Probook 450 G1 - nice piece of kit but boy, I'm ready to throw it out the window already! The past, I spent 2 days set up, familiarize myself with the user-friendly windows not so 8 and transfer all my data from my other trusted and well liked by HP 4525 to see now that the wireless disconnects every 4-5 minutes on the new laptop.

  I've seen go looking on the internet it seems to be a fairly common problem with Windows 8 Pro that came pre-installed on it (I used Windows 7 Professional on my old HP).

  Can someone give me a decent solution to how to solve this problem. I have reset things like power as some settings proposed although I noticed that the problem seems especially coming at the opening of new Web pages using IE.

  I also get the pop following ups / system errors:

  Bt.Tray.exe.

  HP.CommunicationManager.exe. fatal error

  It's really frustrating because I have invested in this new laptop - bought directly from HP - to run my business I really on the internet at any time to access.

  If someone can advise it would much appreciated. I'm not super irritable so simple explanantions would also help and HP - please, do not try to me fob off the coast on another Forum which is commercial I've seen on previous assignments by others - it does not help the situation.
