Automatic configuration service ipv6 has any special installation?

When I run the

automatic configuration service IPv6 address

order of the interface fa0/0 R2, R3 on the other end is configured with a static global unicast address, should R2 use NDP and find the prefix and eui - 64 to make the host ID without the need for any other configuration specail?

Or I have to correctly answer to R2 R3 value?

For the moment, I do this in GN3 but R2 is only coming up with a link-local address.

Thanks in advance.

Hello

by default, Cisco routers behave as IPv6 hosts until ipv6, unicast routing is configured in global configuration mode and then it starts sending RAs and response to the RS of the device that is configured on an interface SLAAC.

Then configure this command on R3 and R2 will obtain a prefix of R3 and use EUI64 to complete the host Party.

Kind regards.

Alain

  • Automatic configuration - stop application tier services on all nodes?

    Hi all

Our application R12 application tier is on several nodes. My question is when we run on application layer Metn autoconfig, made you must stop the services from the application layer on all nodes of the application level? or just stop the services on the node on the automatic configuration service.

    Thank you and best regards,

Yes, stop the application on all nodes (level apps) services before you run the automatic configuration. Then run auto configuration on each node one by one.

  • Toshiba Software by disabling the automatic Wireless Configuration Service

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop. When I start the system, the automatic Wireless Configuration Service is disabled and I have to go into Services and start physically whenever I start Windows (XP 32-bit sp3).

I think it's own software of Toshiba (Q-Connect/Summit?) it prevents start automatically with Windows, because everything else is as it should be.

Can you advise how to fix this so that the service always starts automatically and does not, during the trip, the settings for windows? Set up a wireless ad - hoc is quite difficult because there is no more headaches.

    Hi Shane,

Looks like you have (or had) 3rd party software that previously managed your wireless connections, so casting service windows does not start automatically.

    See the following Article in the Microsoft KB, see if it suits it for you;

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/871122

    More precisely:

If your computer or your wireless network card came with its own wireless network software, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type ncpa.cpl and click OK.
    2. Click on network connections.
    3. In network connections, select your wireless connection, and then click change settings of this connection.
    4. On the wireless networks tab, click to select the Use Windows to configure my wireless network checkbox.

To start the automatic Wireless Configuration service, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type %SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc/s, and then click OK.
    2. Double-click Wireless Zero Configuration.
    3. In the list of Startup type , click Automatic, and then click apply.
    4. In the Service status area, click Start, and then click OK.

Let me know how you go.
