Automation of export with work plans

Hello

Our office has just upgraded to CS5 and some problems with the work plans that I hope someone can help solve.

We used to have a set of actions that would reframe the work to a pre-defined size, and then export a TIF.  Then action would reframe to a different size and save it in PDF format.  These actions no longer work correctly because the feature of 'culture' is no more used.

My understanding is that I need two work plans set up on the document (both set to their respective sizes.

Export the TIF file, specify what work plan for use in the field of "range" of the dialog box.

It is the same for the PDF file.  I can record the action fairly easily, but he won't play properly because the action does not remember the "range" option  It just comes up with the last selected (registered or not).

Is it possible to have an action recorded in CS5 to accomplish this task?   I was fumbling with it for a few days now and I have yet to get it to work properly.

It's a little frustrating because we literally thousands of existing graphics to process which cannot be exported by using the action we had already put in place more.  We are almost obliged to continue using CS3.

The question was clear.

Needs,

The Action you were using in CS3 depended on the area of crops > Make command.

In CS5, the object > plans > FitToSelectedArt is registrable in an action through the step to insert the Menu command in the menu Actions palette flyout. So, you can probably create an Action that makes you want in CS 5 using a combination of this and other recordable functions as paste, select next object above / below, etc..

You should not need additional work plans to process files of simple-plan of pre-existing work. Simply use the FitToSelectedArt command to change the size of the work prior to each export plan.

For example: you can draw rectangles of two (or more) and give them names. Copy them to the Clipboard. Your Action can:

Paste in front.

Select the first rectangle by its name.

Resize the work plan to adapt it.

Perform the export.

Select the rectangle by its name.

Resize the artboard.

Perform the export.

Etc, etc.

  • Export of work plans that jpg randomly adds a pixel to the document

I created a document of 10 pages to 1200px x 1200px. When I export the pages as jpg at 72 dpi for web, some of the files become a randomly added pixel. So the first page will be 1200 x 1200 properly but the 2nd page is 1200 x 1201, and the third is 1201 x 1201 and the fourth is 1200 x 1200, etc.. I have confirmed that all pages are the same size (1200 x 1200) and I made sure the default units are defined in pixels. Anyone know what could be causing this? Strangely if I select 150 dpi as output all come out as it should to 2500 x 2500 with no extra pixels. I hope someone can help me with this, as it is screwing up placing the images on the website. I've have to run a batch every time to resize them at 1200 x 1200.

Here is a picture showing what I mean.

    AddedPixel.jpg

check each work plan's sitting a measure specific pixel, not 4613.77px like you have one shown. Make sure that all work plans are a specific position X and Y pixel whole values for example 4613px. as AI allows them to sit at randome positions.

  • Why cannot export a work plan at 200% scale exceed past high 10000px

I have a 320 x 9357 mobile design. To support the devices in the retina, I am trying to export and to scale my design of 200%, so the final dimensions must be 640 x 18714. When I right click the layer of the artboard and export... the result is an image to 354 x 10357. I have tested the same work plan, but reduced the height to 5000px. The result came out perfect, 640 x 10000. To check this case, I created a work plan of the same design but to 640 x 18714, he exported, but it did not apply to 200%. The result is out, true to size, 640 x 18714. Can I deduce that it is a bug with the function "export as" for work plans at the measurement of 200% at the same time? For some reason I can't change any export 200% if the final result exceeds high 10000px.

Yes, there is a limitation to export; It is not really because of 200% or actual dimensions, but more on the size and complexity of the exported document.

    We work to improve it.

  • Export of work plans add 1 pixel at the height of the Image

    Hello

When I export a single or multiple art boards in JPG or PNG... it adds just 1 pixel up to the first image of the artboard.

    So, let's say I have 3 art-boards that are 300 x 300 px.

I export it using Art Optimized, RGB, 72 DPI as a JPG/PNG

    Only the 1st image (imagename - 01.jpg) is 300 x 301 pixels...

Adding only 1 pixel in height.

Maybe does not seem a big deal to some, but when I use these images in a slideshow on a Web site, you can see the slideshow to adjust the height.

It's boring say the least, I have to go and manually resize the image to 300 pixels high.

In addition, no matter if there is no work or not work plans.

    Is this a bug?

    fwhilton,

You can have a look at the values Y of your first work plan.

It may extend between non-integer values Y.

If this is the case, the remedy is to reposition the work plan to be included in the values of Y integer/integer.

  • Photoshop 2015 with work plans feature won't crop

I've upgraded to Photoshop CC 2015, created a new logo, and I can't get the crop tool to work. The artboard, named Artboard1, contains four layers.

When I select the area around the logo and crop it, nothing happens.

I also tried to use the adjustment tool to remove all space based on transparent pixels, and nothing happens.

I tried to return to the settings in use before the update of 2015, but still no luck of cultures.

    Any ideas?

    Hi RickRicholson,

    This is the expected behavior.

Once you have the installer of the work plans, your image is now using an infinite canvas and as a result, the crop tool does nothing.

  • How to export a work plan consisting of several plans of work in png?

I use CS6.  When I save for web, only records the first artboard.  How can I get register all of them into one image?

You will need to create a new work plan that encompasses all original work plans.

  • Is it possible to export the layers of work plans?

I was so happy when Adobe introduced plans to work in Photoshop. And was impatient to try it on the practice. And earlier I finished Web site design that has by page 3 work plans. And a lot of layer comps on every page.

And it turned into a nightmare...

I can't export all the layers automatically. I have to manually put in each layer comp, click on "export as...". ». In the same file names are the same (called as a work plan). So I have to rename the exported images before the switch then layer comp and export it.

If I use the command "export > Layer Comps to files...". ', it exports all work plans in 1 file for each layer comp. But the worst thing is that these files look like this:layouts.jpg

-with huge space empty around work plans.

I spent a lot of time designing the site and now I even can't show the client!

    So my question is:

Is there a way to export the layers of each work separately plan with corresponding file names? (as it works for the old "Layer Comps to files... ("without work plans).

But if there is no solution I think it's a major issue in usability.

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Export to windows metafile using work plans

During export, if I select the .jpg or .png file format that I am allowed to choose export as 'Use artboard' but when I choose to export to set that option disappeared! Is there a workaround, or is it possible a file .ai done broke several files .ai by artboard (a single file .ai with work plan) and then do a batch convert to .wmf format?

did you nt read what I wrote, then create an action and then the action to make your batch.

Read the help files on creating the action and then batch processing.

Or open the action of the Panel and select new action in the dialog box and review the flyout that everything is there.

You'll do much better with Illustrator, if you get something red on its functioning and you refer to the help files of th.

That's all what it trust me.

  • Layer Palette list jumping around on DSP with multiple work plans

Just upgraded to Photoshop CC2015, and I'm doing a work of mobile design - work plans are perfect for this kind of work, so I decided to take advantage of the new functionality of the artboard. Now, a lot of actions that update of content in the palette layers (duplicate elements, for example), force the selected item to be concentrated in the top of the layers palette. This means that my layers are constantly scrolling themselves around and making it physically exhausting to use Photoshop. I'm on a retina screen 27 "(5K iMac)." Not only did I get distracted by the pallet to move, I have to also remember where I was still in the palette (layers are named, but I have 26 work plans, so it's a lot.), then scroll around to get there.

Also, when I delete the layer, the palette groups of select and focus parent of the deleted group at the top of the list. In this case, let's say I duplicated only accidentally an item (and then removed), then I have to realize I've been teleported elsewhere and find my way back.

I know the new behavior of items being placed in groups now sitting at the top instead of the bottom of the group - is not that, but maybe a bug related to this new behavior?

This issue does not appear to occur in PSD who did no work plans.

    Hi Zack,

There is bug here that is being developed at the present time in development.

When you choose the command duplicate the layer (or group of two copies) and the layer is a work plan, it is moved to the top of the layer stack and then re-nested in the above work plan that can hold the layer. When nested in a work plan, the layer is placed on top of the stack in the artboard. Most of the time, it seems just the layer gets duplicated upward from the current artboard, but in some cases, as you have discovered, it can actually go to another plan of work.

    Of course, this is problematic.

The workaround for now is option and drag the layers in the layers palette to explicitly in the order of desired layer stack.

In addition, there are a number of other behaviors that you describe in this thread that I think can also be problematic, but he'll have to look more carefully. Thanks for the information and please let us know if you see anything that affects your workflow with work plans.

  • Why do I see a white border to the right of my work plan displaying my file on a device with preview Adobe photoshop?

I work on a Photoshop file with work plans, are all exactly the same width (as have been reproduced from the first). Overview of Adobe on my phone (iPhone 6) seems to make some of them with a white border to the right of the image. This means that I never see the file to the actual size, it will be on a device. Does anyone have ideas on this?

We have fixed the following error: "files with 10 000 show px height a white extra area to the left or right in the Preview iOS app»  Please, download the last updated overview of the device to obtain the fix:

  • Reorganize work plans and move the work hidden with both work plan?

Is it possible to use the option to "Reorganize the work plans" in the dropdown to work plans and also the movement not only the plan of work itself, but also the hidden work (layers, objects, etc.) on this work plan?

I tried marking check the option 'move illustration with work plan' , but that still does not move the hidden work. The default behavior seems to be that only the active or visible work is moved with the artboard, but the work of hiddden is left behind somewhere on the workspace where the work plan used to be before it was moved.

I find it a little heavy, because I often hide work that I test and have to do all visible again to move them just with the artboard would break the dinstinction between all many very similar layers, objects, etc. that I could work with at any given time.

If anyone has some advice please chime...

Hahaha... your memory is better that an elephant Kurt, but remember that I already have this script of cardiac arrest?

  • Content does not move with the work plan

Kind of a matter of newbie, but for some reason any when I try to rearrange work plans most of the content does not move with it.

How can I change the content to associate with a specific work plan?

Oh, layers shouldn't matter, unless they are maybe locked.

Make sure you click on the "Move art with work plan" option when the artboard tool is selected.

  • Why do my work order plan getting all messed up when I try to add new work plans?

    Mac, HAVE CC

If I create an icon for fine UX library. I have, say, 20 icons on 20 separate work plans. I have the following configuration: 4 lines and 5 columns. Create mu icons, name each work plan to export properly, and all is well.

But when I come back to this document and try to add work plans, they add no way to 5 x 4.

Very strangely, they are added in random places.

Then I try again to "Reorganize the work plans", and they are willing, but once again, in a random order. My names are so disconnected from the previous relevant work plans.

It's so frustrating. Is there something I'm missing, if it please or do not know, to add better control?

    Thank you very much!!!

I think everyone goes through a similar confusion with work plans, but once to slow down and realize some items, they begin to work as

    1. Look at your work plan and that one is highlighted it's the artboard select
    2. You can easily unwittingly switch to another plan of work, by simply selecting another time with the selection tool. "Here, I've selected an item on the 4th game of darts and now the ' Live from the corners" artbaord is selected.
    3. When you use the new work plan command that adds a new after the selected work plan, some people waiting to be added as the last page.
    4. There are some bugs like when you run out of space on the right. I have the last elected artboard, but try to add a new work plan gives me an error because the top row is out of room who shovel have nothing to do with it.

    In summary

    • Name your work plans that you can easily get confused, that it is worth
    • Use reorganize artbaords often
    • Reorganize work plans does not care the physical position on the screen of the work plan, it transposes numbers (1 to 11 in my example above)
    • If you want to copy of artboard on the artboard 2 1. Copy the artboard 1 form, select any element of the artbord 2 and use the paste in front or to the rear. You can also use the work plans Panel to select your target artbaord.
