Auxiliary DNS works only on Windows Server 2003

Hi all
I use the windows Server 2003. I configured the DNS server for each server and active - it integrated, I get also DHCP server to distribute the auto IP to the customer, with prefer DNS and DNS auxiliary, but, I don't know why, when DNS prefer stop, windows 7 not automatically use auxiliary DNS to resolve when I use the NSlookup command to test? (computer name of ping and IP in domian is ok), and how can I solve this problem?

  • Client Windows 7 Professional DNS fails to resolve the name - when connectin to a Windows Server 2003

I ran the Portqry tool and discovered a problem with the Port 53 and open this Port in the Windows Firewall on the client and Windows Server 2003.  However, it may not always resolve the name and I can't get the Windows 7 workstation to join the domain.

Looks like you are using a compiler more later-than-recommended that refers to a later-than-recommended runtime library that is not included in the OS and/or InDesign.

    Either:

    1. Use the correct compiler
    2. Discover the missing library and install it
    3. twist the compiler to use the correct library

(I would recommend against 2) and 3) because these hacks tend to break.

For example if you delete something through your runtime lib that has been allocated by InDesign through competitors runtime lib, you could screw up memory management.

  • try to install the driver only on a windows Server 2003 for hp1525nw.

I want to install the driver Laser Jet CP1525nw on our windows 2003 print server to be available to our users. If I install using the software of HP I can't just install the driver and so can not install the printer a printer on the print server

It seems that you just need the base without any additional software driver.

The base driver should be able to be downloaded and installed the correct operating system to color HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw printer.

Select the software and driver downloads and choose the operating system you need.  In this case, Windows Server 2003.  Expand the pilot section and there will be two: full functionality and basic driver.  The base driver is just the driver itself without any additional software, and this should do what you need.

  • DNS issue on the Windows Server-based host computer

I encountered a problem which is probably easily solved - but I've been browsing the net for days already and cannot find a solution.

First, I will describe my basic setting.

I run a Windows Server 2003 host in a simple configuration of the House, connected to an ISP. I have my own domain name, which is hosted by another company. My local domain name is called "mydomain.local"; My overall domain name is called 'mydomain.eu '. I send a large number of specific services on my local server, using the settings for my domain name host. So my Windows Server is called orakel.mydomain.local; My Web page, which is hosted on the outside is www.mydomain.eu, but I use my local server for ftp access, so ftp.mydomain.eu is sent to my local IP address; my router forwards to orakel.mydomain.local and my ftp server on Windows Server handles the traffic. This Setup works very well and allows me to administer my internal and external DNS settings.

My main server uses 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0 and is also DHCP/DNS server for the rest of the network.

As I plan to switch to Linux, I installed Vmware Workstation 7.1 on my server (orakel.mydomain.local). I created an image, add a static IP (192.168.0.50) in this image. The VM network adapter has filled and directed to my physical network adapter. I added an external debian record, achieved to my IP static, just like I did with my ftp, usenet etc - thus, debian.mydomein.eu is directed to my fixed address, that is passed (by my router) to the orakel.mydomain.local (192.168.0.1)

And then I ran into problems. I want to access my image debian from the outside world and cannot get this to work.

When I'm on-site talk, I use 192.168.0.50 to access my image. I added a DNS a record on my * local * (debian-> 192.168.0.50) DNS server, while debian.mydomain.local also works very well as long as I'm using my own local network.

But I want to use debian.mydomain.eu, because it will allow me to access the image debian to other places as well. I can't find a way to achieve this. When I use debian.mydomain.eu, I get redirected to my router which redirects me to orakel.mydomain.local, but it ends there. I run Apache on both my windows server and in the image virtual debian, but I ended up always on my windows http server, not on my server debian.

When I change my router settings to forward port 80 to 192.168.0.50, it works, of course - the virtual machine image works fine. But how do I get my windows to redirect some of the names of servers to virtual images? I would like to execute WEBDAV in a VM-image debian and keep my existing Windows-local http server running as well. Thus, redirect ports on the router clearly won't work, such as HTTP and Webdav to use port 80. I have been looking and trying to not solve or no this result. I * know * that virtual machines are used only to share physical resources for a number of Web sites, and that's just what I'm trying to accomplish!

Where do I need to make adjustments? What is a VM settings somewhere, or should it be solved by the guest operating system DNS settings?

    Paul Kooistra

    Hello Paul,

DNS only don't name resolution. So, given a name, which is the corresponding IP address known. What I understand, you want to have multiple servers in order to be accessible from the Internet for the same service (ie. http) using the standard ports and this is where your problem lies. Unless each of these servers are addressable landscape in terms of sound system you will not be able to do it without using a part of the trick of my previous post.

Your ISP gives you more than one external IP address? If so, do you have a firewall that can handle more than 1 address NAT?

    Kind regards.

    Hello

  • Satellite A200-1BJ: Windows Server 2003 need display driver

    Dear Sir.

A couple of days, I bought laptop Toshiba Satellite A200-1BJ of Jarir Book Store, Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
The system configuration is provided by the company.
Operating system: Windows Vista editions Home Premium
300 hard drive space is divided into two partitions:
    C - Vista with Go 138
D data disk seen 139 GK

I installed windows Server 2003 on the D drive. However, the hibernation and Eve features do not appear in the windows server 2003 OS. According to the Microsoft articale, these two functions becomes active only after the installation of the correct display drivers.

My computer is the "Mobility Radeon HD2600" display device. I search all over the internet and also interviewed via e-mail at ati.com (the manufacturer of this device). I could not the device driver compatible for Windows Server 2003. According to the ATI support staff, I need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop is Toshiba himself.

Can anyone provide me the site or the software driver for "Mobility Radeon HD2600.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Are you looking for the drivers for Windows Server 2003?
Well, I think you will find all the drivers Win Server 2003 because this drivers don t exist.

Win Server 2003 operating system was designed based on windows XP.
So usually the drivers Win XP should work!

Furthermore, as you are probably aware that the Win Server 2003 operating system is not supported by Toshiba you need to search on sites of third 3rd ATI graphic driver.

Maybe a site www.omegadrivers.net might help you.

But note; 3 third party drivers can be installed ONLY at your own RISK! Why?
Because these drivers have not been tested and so no one can tell if the laptop will run stable and will work properly after installing these drivers.

    Hello

Well, as far as I know the Qosmio G20 was delivered with Windows XP MCE.
I found the drivers on the Toshiba site, and it seems they are designed only for Win XP and Win XP MCE. In this case, it is possible to s as the FN keys and other devices don't work.

  • Tecra A10 - 12O: installing the driver network card in Windows Server 2003 R2 Std

    Hello

I received 6 laptop Tecra A10 - 12O, and we need to install Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition with SP2 in all these six machines. Windows Server 2003 has been installed perfectly, but now we have only the network LAN card to work but we are unable to install its driver. When I installed Windows XP from the supplied DVD for Toshiba, it says Intel 82567V Gigabit network adapter. I tried to download the drivers for this adatpor of drivers Toshiba, Intel Web site, but it will not install in Windows Server 2003. I also tried manually force to choose and install a driver from the list, I choose that it will install but shows yellow question mark in Device Manager means that it does not work with this driver.

I also tried the same Intel 82567V drivers from some sites non-Toshiba, of these models using the same network card, but is not truck drivers at all.

I understand these laptop computers does not support Windows Server 2003, but these were ordered to be used as servers with Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and I am required to make the Installer only with activated and installed network adapter.

I try last week and exhausted all means to get the installed network adapter driver, but all have failed. Can someone please help with this? All support will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Charwal

    Hey Buddy

If I m not wrong Windows Server 2003 uses the same drivers as Win XP and I guess that it s driver problem not a LAN, but perhaps also the problem of Windows Server 2003 installed.

You are right; the LAN chip seems to be Intel 82567V and the LAN driver downloaded from Intel page should work 100%.

In your case, I would recommend installing the chipset driver.
Remove the LAN card from Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Then go back to Device Manager and update driver in pointing devices Manager to the place where the driver downloaded LAN was stored on the HARD drive.

  • Windows Server 2003 - Error Codes: 0X800706BE & 0X800706BA

I have a server with Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition custom which is made of multiple system errors of Windows Update Agent with ID 20.

    Here are some examples:

Installation failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800706be: update Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB982168).

Installation failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800706ba: Security Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB979683).

In addition, there are 20 twenty updates that produce the total failure of the installation with the 0x800706ba error. The first installation of .NET framework 3.5 SP1 error is the only one with error 0x800706be.

To resolve this problem, I did the following:

Stop the automatic updates service, renamed Software Distribution files in C:\WINDOWS and C:\WINDOWS\system32, and then restarted again the automatic updates service.

The same problem occurred (updates will download, but not with the error ID 20 system event) and so I did the same steps again and also reinstated the SOOPER services:

    1. run "gpupdate/force".

    2. run "/detectnow wuauclt.

And once again, downloaded updates, but not settle and the recorded errors.

What else can I try to get these updates installed?

  • Windows Server 2003 on the HARD IDE in Mode ATAPI drive?

    Hello!
My problem is that I want to know if a HDD IDE will run in Mode ATAPI.

    More details >

There is a motherboard of INTEL S5000 VSA server in the office. He already had Win 2003 and everything was fine until the HARD drive crashed and the people replaced by an a SCSI maintenance (I don't know if he had a SATA, SCSI or an IDE HDD previously). After installing new HARD drive, they were not able to install Win server 2003 and went for 2008. Windows Server 2008 creates problems for us and the maintenance people are also confused and unresponsive to the situation.

We have Windows Server 2003 R2. The motherboard has only one IDE port but scored the "working mode" as ATAPI. I was wondering if I could just attach an IDE HDD and install Win Server 2003 R2 (since win 2003 supports SATA out-of-the-box)

(Displayed in the section of WIN XP as Win 2003 sharing the same base with XP, XP users can comment too)

If a geek myself, I'm not very educated when it comes to servers. a Google search also did not help. I would be grateful if someone can help out me.

    Thank you
    Chirag.

Yes it will install and work fine on an IDE hard drive, ATAPI devices are all IDE drives.  The downside is that the reader will be much slower than the SCSI on a busy server, which can be a big disadvantage.

For all its value that they probably could not install Server 2003 on the SCSI disk because they weren't using the method of F6 to provide drivers SCSI on a diskette or that they could not understand or how their wake worth installation CD.  There is no need of such a monumental lapse, notwithstanding the limitation INT-13 NT4 Server installed on SCSI and Server 2003 installs on SCSI providing that you give appropriate when installing drivers.
