Backup migration profile

Due to problems with Windows System Image backup not correctly, I was forced to start from scratch. I thought that you should not copy the file ntuser.dat from an old profile, but I think Control Panel settings and other stuff I want are stored there. I tried to copy the file anyway, and now Windows comes immediately disconnects when I try to log in.

NTuser also contains the system account used to start the services. It can cause problems when you copy these files. You will need to export some specific registry entries, if you want that your settings.

Normally, the Windows Migration Wizard can help with these migrations.

If you can explain the problem with the Image of the system, it may be possible to respond to these? You try to restore a complete picture of the system of Windows on a Mac partition?

  • Old profile will be migrated but I forgot to backup existing profile before you rename it. Best way to retrieve emails to the original profile that still exists as * .old?

Of course, I left on stage backup or export, do not know that. In any case, won't make things worse so thought better to ask before proceeding. I've renamed existing "new but used" profile *.old and copied old profile in the same folder, giving the name of the profile 'new but used '. There are emails in the profile "new but used" I need to recover. What is the best way to proceed?

    Thank you
    Mike

OK, either copy all the files from the old to the new mbox and place them in local folders. do not copy * .msf files (they are just indexfiles and will be recreated)

    delete panacea.dat
It will be re-created. (it contains a list of directories and files)

or get an Add on ExportImportTools that can help you import an mbox.

When they are in local folders you can move.

  • Migration Profiles Windows XP using MDT to Windows 7 Pro.

I run a migration to Windows XP Pro computers to Windows 7 Pro using the MDT deployment tool. The environment consists of two subdomains, one used for normal users [USER.company.org] and a high for HER [INFOSYS.company.org]. When you attempt to migrate users that were migrated using the credentials of INFOSYS on would be 100% locked out in AD. We determined is not a software, printers or the mappings that are at the origin of the lockout. The user would constantly be locked until the profile was successfully deleted. Then the user would connect, allowing the profile in Windows 7 to be re-created.

When we use the level USER account, migration, we will not experience this problem most of the time. Here's the process we run.

During the process, use us the MDT and USMT migration both profiles and build the new system. The whole process is done using a USB 3.0 drive.

1 tech logs on to the Windows XP-based computer by using the INFOSYS account.

2 tech makes their local administrator account USER.

    3. newspapers outside account INFOSYS tech and logs on to the USER account.

4 tech helping process the USMT to save profile on USB.

    5. once the backup of the USMT is completed, tech restarts computer on USB to begin the process of MDT and LTI.

    6. computer full format and the installation of Windows 7 Pro and any software checked during the LTI process.

7 once installation is complete, restart the computer Windows 7 and the migration of users from the old Windows XP profiles on the Windows 7 computer starts. Once complete, the computer restarts.

    8. at this point, the migration is complete.

Anyone can log on and use the computer at this point.

Currently, we are beginning to see the other AD lockout, no matter what account migrates. Yet once, only a reconstruction of full profile solves this problem.

Everyone knows about this problem during their migration? And if so, how do solve you this problem?

  • Time Machine backup migration wizard

    Hello

I have a MBP (2012 model) running OSX 10.11.6. The hard drive has encountered an error that I couldn't get (invalid node structure). After spending the better part of a day of troubleshooting, I finally erased the drive and reinstall the OS from the OSX Internet Recovery Mode option. After that I reinstalled OSX version accompanying (Mavericks), I was going to transfer all my files from my USB external time Machine drive. I checked using the Migration Wizard, and I had the opportunity to transfer any of the player. Instead, I thought I'd be better to first upgrade to el capitan (it was on 10.11.6 when it stopped working) and install the programs I use (MS Office) before the transfer, so I went through this process. Now when I try to restore the files using Migration Assistant in el Capitan, he can't seem to find the USB Time Machine backup drive - it retains just turn on "the search for Source...". "on the transfer to this Mac screen information. If I leave the Migration Wizard, the USB key is accessible in the Finder. Don't know what to do at this point, but I really need these files (years of family photos are my biggest concern about losing).

    Thank you

    Mike Camden

OK - I've solved it. For some reason, it wouldn't find the backup disk, Time Machine in the Migration Wizard, when I plugged directly on the port of USB of MBP (although he appeared and is accessible from the Finder); However, on a whim, I plugged into the USB port on my Airport Extreme, connected my MBP to it as a shared resource on the network and is running Migration Wizard again. Migration assistant immediately found and was able to make the Time Machine restore - it took much longer overall than network he would like a USB drive, but I let it run all night, and everything was finished this morning.

  • The migration profile of Firefox to Firefox Developer edition?

Coz it doesn't look like that much the same structure, or?
    Thank you

The developer edition of Firefox can use the same profile as the version of Firefox.
The version TO use a special 'dev-edition-by default' profile, but you can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.

You can transfer files to a profile previously used to a new profile

  • Is there a way I can restore my backup profile that I took from a folder (for example Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\)

    Before re-installing Firefox 19, I took by mistake backup my profile in a folder - C:\Documents and Settings\garan14\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles and not from C:\Documents and Settings\garan14\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles.

When installing, I chose option "Delete old profiles" and I don't see any old folder under C:\Documents and Settings\garan14\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles profile.

However, I have a lot of important data stored under that profile that has now been deleted.

Is there a way I can restore the old profile data? (PS: as stated above, I have a backup of the profile folder that is located under the Local Settings folder)

I'm in a desperate need for aid. Pls reply as soon as possible.

Firefox stores only cache files to the location of the local settings and not the files in the main folder of the Firefox profile.

There is no need to save this place in local contexts in any case.

The main folder of the Firefox profile is in "C:\Documents and Settings\ < user > change Data" on Windows XP.

If you have deleted your personal data during the uninstallation of Firefox and do not have a backup then your only option is to use an undelete utility to see if you can recover this profile folder.

  • Backup of the user's profile

I use Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.

I had my twice damaged user profile.

And I recreated a new profile from scratch every time, because I'm not aware of two of the three methods to use to fix the problem.

The third FixIt method does not work.

Now, as the saying goes, "once twice shy", I would like to preempt another case where the same problem occurs.

I would like to save my profile with all there so that if I meet the same problem, I can use the backup to restore EVERYTHING in the current profile, in a new account without the hassle of creating another profile from scratch.

So, first of all, how can I save my current user profile.

Second, how I restore my active user profile in a newly created account if it breaks.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

  • BlackBerry Smartphones backup dies on the Dbase of profiles... Have already reset, what now?

    Hey everybody,

First post here.  Took a Curve 8330 for about a month now.  Recently during the backup, I started getting an error saying "Error backup databases [profiles] 4 of 6 entries retrieved"

    I already have:

    1. entered in screen forward and cleared the databases on the device.

    2. backup again, no problem.

    3. open a backup file is a few days, to restore these profile (& options) on the device

    4. backup again...  No dice, still the same problem.

So I just deleted the profliles of the device. A few days later I recreated manually one of my profiles on the phone.  Next time, I tried to backup, I got the error again.  What now?

DM is 5.0, OS is Windows XP, OS BB is 4.5.0

    Thank you!

    Ok

So I think I have this beat problem.  I found a few useful posts on another forum.  Most tell you to clear your browser's cache and cookies, then re-sync.  This didn't do it for me, and I didn't know it would be that the cache of the browser should not have anything to do with the timing of the Profiles database.

However, I did go to the advanced screen and clear data of the device.  Then I did a battery with quick pull pull.  Then I backed up once again, with no problems.  Then, I recreated my profile customized from scratch.  Now seems fine backup...  See you soon.

  • Migration of profiles of win2k3 TS to view Win7

I searched a bit and found nothing about it... someone had experience of migration of Windows 2003R2 Server Terminal Services user profiles to Windows 7 using a configuration management Persona? I'm tempted to just run the tool migration profile against the documents and settings on the TS server folder, he did not want to waste my time if someone already knew it did not work, or knew a better way.

Then I ran the migration profile against the profiles tool, seems to have worked very well.

  • Windows 7 crashes my profile, leaving me with the "default" profile. Even if I wipe my laptop and re-install.

    Hello

First: I have two identical laptops purchased from Dell with the same hardware configuration - both delivered with Vista. I upgraded to W7 as soon as possible, and since then, one of the laptops does not load my profile several times.

I use to work as a system administrator, so of course, at the beginning, I didn't much attention to the mistake thinking it was just an incident. I formatted the computer, reinstall W7 and, of course, the error occurred again - constantly even if I wiped it and re-install.

What is happening is that the computer starts, I connect Windows crashes for the moment very loong and then all of a sudden he says "preparing your desktop". When that happens I know its load under the 'default user profile', it's 'welcome '.

This error occurs about two to three times in about 7 days. But not all the time - it's like periods. I usually get through this by organizing the closure for 4 seconds, restart, and then, if I'm lucky, gets through my office.

A few times that I had no chance - restart of 6 times in a row without luck somehow shows that the profile files are really damaged, and then I created a new migration profile all my old files. This process takes time - not simply copy my files but also the settings of my program.

Last week, I deleted my user just to create a new one-8 it recharges without success.

I looked in eventvwr.msc and found that everything begins with six fouls in a row. I don't really know what do - the error log says error but it seems not very well describe it.

    It goes like:

I don't know what it is. I can only say that reinstall W7 does not help. And lately, after creating the new profile, W7 began to start the default new desktop computer.

So my question is: can I fix? If its not repairable can at least save files like ntuser.dat to crush the ntuser.dat file damaged W7 start sleeping?

Software properly written (as opposed to malware, viruses, and poorly written stuff) has similarly on day 1 after installation on 30 days. So you can go ahead with your driver and software installation as fast as you want, as long as you create a new file image at strategic points and keep notes dates when you installed this component.

Given your experience, you will need to proceed cautiously with the automatic updates. First disable them, and then put the installation in Manual Mode so that you can install in small batches, again take notes.

If you use Acronis image to create images, then you will need only half of space compared to the native tool. And if divide you your drive and put your personal files on the D: drive then you will not lose them during a restoration of the image.

Be sure to keep your Windows Firewall active at all times and use a router. Make an Internet connection without a router (which is a hardware firewall) request in trouble. If you use a wireless network, make sure you use a WEP or WPA or MAC address screening encoding.

  • Migration Oracle Apps R12 for windows 32-bit to 64-bit windows

    Hello

We have two node for R12.1.1 on windows 2008 32-bit architecture. A database node and the other node for application.

As we face a lot of problems of memory, we plan to go for 64-bit.

    I already read the document

Migration Oracle E-Business Suite R12 to Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 [ID 1188535.1]

Says doc in place upgrades of the OS are not supported...

    So my question is...

While keeping the production, how can all I migrate using the same servers. Coz my company won't buy new servers...

    Please suggest.

Thank you very much. But I have to make sure that backup is correct and can be restored.

I am thinking to create a clone to another machine before installing Windows 64 bits on production. While I would backup migration gives a few problems.

    Thank you

Your approach should be good. Make sure that your backup is recoverable and you have a second copy on another hard drive.

  • Whenever I sync my calendar on Lightning, I get a message "accept changes and update in any case" on several occasions, even though the event is deleted from the server

This repetition of message every time I sync, therefore can freeze the Thunderbird application after 3-4 syncs

Right-click recycle the message to the next synchronization
Left button instantly recycle the message

Event deleted on the server, lightning and by Organizer

Disable Google provider problem ceases, but which makes unnecessary lightning

    TBird reinstalled, updated all modules

Tried to download the image, but no luck...

I deleted the event to my calendar and was the Organizer to do the same thing.

    What Organizer?

I have the latest updates from each of the three

Once again, what are your versions of Thunderbird, Lightning and the provider add-on?

    and charging each of them...

I mean you don't have to reinstall Thunderbird, then it was a waste of time.

You can try to remove the calendar in lightning, restart Thunderbird, and then recreate the calendar.
Given that the calendar is a calendar of network no data will be lost.

That said, it is always recommended to have a recent backup of profile.

  • What will change when I install Firefox ESR?

Hello. I want to install Firefox ESR on top of my current installation, but what will change when I do? What is different about ESR?

See, I downgraded to 40 FF due to the extension/add-on problems with 42 FF, but I don't want a browser not secure/unstable. ESR is recommended, but I'm confused about this. All my bookmarks, themes, modules, etc. remain the same? Is there a different update schedule, and how does it work? I really need help here.

    Thank you!

It's a good idea to backup your profile first, but IMO you will probably not all problems when returning to Firefox 38 ESR. I did it in June - switch to Firefox ESR 38.2 of 40.0 Firefox. There will be no problem with Add-ons, unless a security patch would cause a problem with an add-on.

Overall, the version of ESR is the same as the final version of Firefox 38, but with the security patches that came in later versions. No new or changed features which may have been in 39 through the latest versions of Firefox, just security updates. The schedule is the same for the Release and ESR versions.

  • We cannot access our email from our computer was wiped out

We receive no messages at all

Sorry but you have not provided a lot of information.

If the computer has been 'erased' and the operating system reinstalled, this would have removed everything off the computer and deleted everything.

You should reinstall Thunderbird, then recreate the e-mail accounts.

If you use POP email accounts, then these emails would have been stored in Thunderbird profile on computer, so you'd need to backup these profile files "wiping" before the computer. Then you could reinstall the profile to see these emails.

If you have an IMAP email account then these emails were stored on the server, so just to recreate the e-mail account imap and subscription to see records return all emails.

So, what type of e-mail account you speak?
    You have reinstalled Thunderbird?
You have re-created the e-mail accounts?

When you click on "Get the message" what happens? This error message you get... Word for Word?

You can send messages? If not, what error you get, Word for Word?

    Please provide this info:
