  • How can I fix NVIDIA Graphics Driver included with Vista, Sony VAIO laptop?

My Sony VAIO laptop works for a few years now without many problems (difficult). But all of a sudden (not not after installation of software/hardware) the computer turns off. Now when I turn it on, the loading screens have graphical bugs and then I get a blue screen crash. Then it shuts down, reboots and asks if I want to run in safe mode. If I run it in normal Mode, the same problem occurs. If I run in Mode safe (networking works too), everything works as it should in Mode without failure. A problem report comes up saying 'address a problem with NVIDIA Graphics Driver NVIDIA Graphics Driver has stopped working properly.  An update of the driver, as appropriate, could prevent this problem does not happen. • How to restore vista 64 bit on sony vaio to factory without backup system disks?

I made a mistake, took my sony vaio vgn-fw265d with windows vista home edition for futureshop to solve problems,

as my recovery disks have been corrupted. they installed windows vista 64-bit, but I've lost factory sitting, now some hardware not

    working as blueray etc.

    Hello

1st thing I would do is to bring your SONY VAIO at Futureshop and get them to fix it properly

    or

Contact sony and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

  • Impossible to download and reinstall the operating system after erasing HD

Yesterday morning, my iMac won't start.  It was fine the night before.

The progress bar reaches about two thirds to three quarters of the way to the end when the bar of progress disappears and I find myself with a gray screen. It does this by starting too.

I followed the advice of Linc Davis at https://discussions.apple.com/message/21333265 (hash) 21333265 (Note - I can't find the symbol of hash on my keyboard key so if you if know where he is, please replace by in the link - oh (hash) and tell me where it's too please ;-)).

I started the Revovery volume (now here actually).  Run Disk Utility/First aid finds no problem with MacIntosh HD (my boot drive). I can't find how to repair permissions.  The option no longer seems to be there. Reset NVRAM has nothing else that makes the iMac wonder my preferred language.

I used download and reinstall OS option.  The first time I tried to re-download El Capitan, it took 15 minutes and 45 minutes to install.  Installation failed leaving me to the grey screen again.  I think that the Setup program itself was trying to restart the iMac when he got stuck in the same place I'm stuck.  I left it there for about six hours before I tried to restart manually.

Tried to download the operating system again. This time, it was after using the recovery volume, select MacIntosh HD, by using erasing, then the option reinstall in THE.

I did two times now.  The first time I tried 'Erase and re - install' the download bar has got to a point about a third of the way across, and then he stopped. Time of download bar gradually got more and more long, up to what I canceled it (when the display estimated download time is six and a half).  The internet connection was problematic, or the Mac had stopped download (similar to the earier progress bar).  The second attempt to delete and download, the download bar has not yet started to progress.

My HARD drive has several volumes.

    1. The most important. My MacIntosh HD with OS 10.11.4 - El Capitan.
    2. The second, MacIntosh HD 2, is about 50 GB, a Mavericks installed on it.
    3. The third is 10.11.4 recovery volume.
    4. The fourth is another volume of recovery for the Mavericks.
    5. There is another called eDrive bulkhead.

Apart from MacIntosh HD, with none of these volumes I problems in starting up (with the possible exception of the Mavericks resumed, that I have not tried to access all since the update to El Capitan).

I used first aid utility disk several times, and no problems have been reported. I used the version of El Capitan permanently.

I can't understand why, after erasing the MacIntosh HD to do it again, I can't get the iMac to download the MacOS and reinstall.

    A couple of clues-

    • After his clear utility drive always reports what is MacIntosh HD. (When I restart, the dialog "Select Start Drive" only shows the volume of the Mavericks and eDrive)
    • Disk utility also shows "Apple Disk Image/OS X Base System."  OF THE said that it is ejection. But this button does not work.  I suspect it's what might stop download me the installer and start again.

I used e-drive to check the iMac and, in particular, the drive HARD; even performed a surface scan.  No problems have been reported.

Your 2007 iMac is too old to download OS X, you need to install OS X since the recovery partition directly. If this does not work then Yes, something is wrong with your HD run Apple Hardware Test Mode Extended 2 - 3 times back to back, if errors appear which confirms what I said. You will need the original DVD that came with the computer in order to run it.

  • Can I get an installation Win XP Pro Update CD includes SP3? The one I have now is pre - SP2 and reinstalling the operating system takes 4-EVER!

My existing Windows XP Pro installation CD is almost a decade, and it precedes SP2. It's a nightmare, whenever I have to reinstall the operating system as ut takes a day or two to download Microsoft updates. Is it possible to replace my installation CD with a newer version, including a number of post-SP3 updates and SP3?

You do this using a technique called "slipstreaming".  You start with a genuine XP installation CD and add in the necessary service packs and updates.

If your CD-ROM is sp1 or 1A, you can just slipstream sp3.  If you have XP 'or' (pre - sp1), it is more complicated.

There are many websites that explain how to do this.  Google for "slipstream sp3 of xp" or something similar.

This site claims to have a script that will create a slipstreamed XP sp3 and all post-sp3 CD critical updates (description wrongly "sp2").  I the have not used and do not have any information on how easy it is or if she actually does what it says.

    Hi JohnZNC,

There are a set of "scrubbers" that appear in your installation directory, which can carry out varying amounts of clean-ups/uninstall.

The deepest is a "uninstall L4' and and is launched by exectuing the 'Uninstall_L4_64.bat' file (double click should suffice).

These files are in the subdirectory '\util\ccc', is usually found in c:\program Imaging\ of Hewlett-Packard...

Find the "Uninstall_L4_64.bat" file, then double-click on it to get the course of cleaning.

    Hope this helps

Why did not follow this method?

You can format the drive in this way and reinstall at the same time.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

  • Vista will not start on my laptop, tried many different things and nothing seems to work

Hello.  Before we begin, I want to say that I spent the previous two days, researching my problem and have not yet find something that describes my specific problem...

I have a laptop Compaq Presario C700, I received my mother-in-law a few years ago.  It is installed with Vista (SP2 I believe, I can't confirm as you'll see below) and I got Vista point random other problems experienced, but I've usually been able to find an adequate solution - up to and including restoring to a previous restore point.

Two days ago my laptop decided not to start Windows.  When I turn on the laptop, I get the usual Compaq splash showing the different options that are accessible through the F keys.  The screen then goes, after displaying the message "ready for the OS to boot".  It then goes to a white screen that displays a flashing cursor (like a prompt command, just without the drive/directory indicator).  The hard drive light flashes every 30 seconds, or so, but it is y no movement in the HARD drive that I can not hear it or feel run as I usually can.

At this point, my first step was to use the option of recovering your system of the Compaq splash screen, but leading to the same blinking cursor and a white screen.  Then I went into the BIOS and confirmed the boot order was OK and ran the Self Test on the HARD drive and memory, which gave rise to no problems found.

It was my first choice because, as you have probably guessed, the laptop came preloaded with Vista and my mother-in-law had no startup disk.  As a result, I found a boot/recovery iso disk for Vista SP2/SP3 and burned it on a CD.  When I boot from it, I get the initial page, offering to install Vista with a link to the System Recovery Options.

The first option, I ran has the Startup Repair.  It only detected no problems with the commissioning.

Then, I used the system restore option, trying to restore to each of the 7 restore points, of which none has solved the problem.

Finally, I opened the command prompt and tried a chkdsk c: command found no problems with the HARD drive.  I didn't run the command chkdsk c:/f/r as read-only mode has not found no problem to be fixed.  I was reading a few forums different tech and found a post suggesting to try the sfc/scannow command...  I tried, you enter at the prompt like:

X:\Sources>SFC/SCANNOW (X:\ is my DVD drive) (Oh and I am the administrator, I believe.)  The title bar of the command prompt window displays "Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe")

He returned "start system analysis. This process will take time. "Then, about 5-10 seconds and I get"Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation ".  So I tried to change my directory to C:\ and run the same command and got the same results.  Then I tried to go to D:\ which is a small partition of my HARD drive and it ran there, with the same results.  So, I tried the following commands:

    Damaged X:\Sources>SFC/SCANNOW = c: \ /offwindir = c:\windows

    Damaged X:\Sources>SFC/SCANNOW = d:-/offwindir = d:\windows

These are not returned the "start scanning system. This process will take some time. "message, but they returned the same message from Windows Resource Protection.

Finally, I removed the battery, disconnect the AC adapter, pressed the power button in the hope to evacuate any overage charges into the motherboard, waited 5 minutes, plugged the adapter back, turned on and still have the same problem.  Other forums started suggesting withdrawal and re - insert RAM chips, disconnect and reconnect the drive of HDD or DVD and other hardware items that I really hope I don't have to deal with - I'm kind of klutsy when it comes to playing with the material and I really don't want to take the risk of breaking something.

Anyone, anywhere, has all the possible suggestions?  I don't have an Installation of Vista disc, nor do I have the original product key code, so I can't reinstall Vista.  I have not the slightest semblance of Vista to load, even the F8 key to appear the option of safe mode because the laptop is never to the loading screen, so I can't try to download/install updates to windows.  What I do then, short by using the "Restore the whole PC" option in the system recovery?  If I use this option, it will scan all my files and folders or it works as the restoration system, where he erases only the updates and software installed since Vista was initially loaded on the PC?

    Hello

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

Start the computer in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs:

    Method 2:

Try to perform the verification and startup repair if it helps:

  • Windows vista media center does not I can uninstall and reinstall?

Windows vista Media Center has been installed, but will not respond. How can I fix this problem?

    Hello

    You cannot uninstall or reinstall

    Try this:

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation
