I have two laptop one is Win 7 OS & other is win 8 OS. Among this way to make a backup of the instance. data should be stored in a common folder. During the particular period or simultaneously backup should do automatically. How to do?

Or any other method of backing up the instance. Kindly help.

Hi Muhammed,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!

Both computers are connected to a network?

You have created a home group?

You can check the link below which speaks of the backup.

  • How to make a backup of the database with RMAN Oracle Single Instance

    People,

Hello. I use the server of Oracle 11 GR 1 material with operating system Oracle Linux 5.10 database.

I understand how to back up the database instance in SQL Server with Windows. But do not really understand how to back up the database instance in Oracle on Linux.
I did it cold and hot backup for the database HRCS90 instance, but both receive the same error message.

    The database is dismounted.

Can any folk tell me specific steps (order by order) to back up a single instance of the database in Oracle with RMAN?

    Thank you.

Yes, you can restore and recover the backup, but not at the moment. You will only be able to restore and recover at the time of your backup.

    For example.

If you take backup (mount point with no mode of journal archive) at 06:00 and your grave database crashes at 21:00, you will be able to restore and recover until 06:00. You will find all the changes made to the database between 06:00 and 21:00.

If you want your database to recover until 9 PM or until a point in time, then you must put your database in log mode archive, and then save the archives.

  • Re-create the instance from the RMAN backup

Gentlemen, subsequently... I'm simulating a recovery for a customer.
The environment is Windows 2003 64-bit VMWare which is a backup of the VM production was scheduled to begin with a facilitator and a different IP network.

I uninstalled all the binary Oracle (11g) and installed it again.
I need to restore a recent backup (made with RMAN) and the body back to normal.

    Already created the password file:
    orapwd file = % ORACLE_HOME %------dbs-PWD % ORACLE_SID PASSWORD = password = 5%

    Already created the tnsnames:

    SAP =

    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 10.9.140.30) (PORT = 1521))

    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = BMKSAP)
    (ORACLE_HOME = E:------Oracle_Bin------product------11.1.0------db_1)

  • Possible strategies to restore a single tablespace of the instance A B

    Hi all

    Then...: Win 7 64 bit
    ... DB: Oracle 11.2.0.3 EE 64-bit

In my notebook, I have 2 instances (orateste and ora11). They are all intended to test. I don't know what happened, but a problem in a partition of my SO did the unavailable Oracle software. I can't start the instance orateste. Even the windows service that is associated with the instance have disappeared from services.msc. What I want to do is to restore only a tablespace for instance orateste to ora11. I have a full D - 1 rman backup. What are the possible solutions?

    (1) to restore the entire database (orateste - 11.2.0.1) ora11 (11.2.0.3)?

    (2) is there a way to restore only a tablespace between instances and versions?

    Thanks in advance.

If it helps, and take an export of all objects in this table space and import into another database, you can start your old database.

    OR

Restore the full database using RMAN somwwhere else and that the export of take it from all objects in this tablespace and import them into another database.

  • Start the clusterware (CRS) without starting the instance in a node

    version is > 11.2.0.1
    operating system: Solaris 5.10

    Using
    #$GRID_HOME/bin/crsctl start crs
I can start the CRS in a node. But I don't want to start the instance in this node. I just want to start the clusterware and ASM instance in this node.
No idea how I can do this?

Haven't seen this option in the Help menu for crsctl
    # ./crsctl -h
Usage: crsctl add       - add a resource, type or other entity
crsctl backup    - back up voting disk for CSS
crsctl check     - check a service, resource or other entity
crsctl config    - output autostart configuration
crsctl debug     - obtain or modify debug state
crsctl delete    - delete a resource, type or other entity
           crsctl disable   - disable autostart
crsctl discover  - discover DHCP server
           crsctl enable    - enable autostart
crsctl get       - get an entity value
crsctl getperm   - get entity permissions
crsctl lsmodules - list debug modules
crsctl modify    - modify a resource, type or other entity
crsctl query     - query service state
crsctl pin       - Pin the nodes in the nodelist
crsctl relocate  - relocate a resource, server or other entity
crsctl replace   - replaces the location of voting files
crsctl release   - release a DHCP lease
crsctl request   - request a DHCP lease
crsctl setperm   - set entity permissions
crsctl set       - set an entity value
crsctl start     - start a resource, server or other entity
crsctl status    - get status of a resource or other entity
crsctl stop      - stop a resource, server or other entity
crsctl unpin     - unpin the nodes in the nodelist
crsctl unset     - unset a entity value, restoring its default

    Hello

You cannot give this information directly at the start of clusterware.
This option is to disable the resources, you do not want to start before running the node.
Note: You can do it from another node, to disable the startup on the node that you want to start:

In general, you can do this with
    Disable srvctl $

The correct syntax depends on the type of management you used.
    Managed political use of databases:

    srvctl disable the d - n database

    Administrator management databases:

    srvctl disable instance d -i "".

  • ORA-19505 RMAN wants the second to the last backup of the Database 9i

Thanks to those who answered previous questions about my attempts our 9i database recovering.

The details are that we had a Database 9i running on Windows XP. The computer has been damaged but we recovered the hard drive where the Oracle database. I also have a very recent RMAN backup. The steps I have taken in the recovery of the database are:

    (1) install 9i
    (2) creation of instance with ORADIM
    (3) tried to restore SPFILE with RMAN, but he said that the backup did not contain the SPFILE
    (4) copied SPFILE old old oracle directory
4A) RESTORE CONTROLFILE FROM "path to old piece of backup", it seemed to work fine.
    (5) mounted on database
    (6) copied the last backup piece (and capture instant controlfile: sncf [sid] .ora) to the new database folder
    (7) tried to RESTORE the DATABASE, but failed to restore, after the first sale correctly all the data files to restore, with ORA-19505, it is looking for the second to the last backup (that may still be available to another source, I'm looking for it)
    (8) BACKUP of LIST done. It shows all the backup until the second to last, but not the most recent
    (9) CROSSCHECK BACKUP OF DATABASE, it shows that all backups are expired, does not show the newest one
    (10) has tried to RESTORE the DATABASE again, this time it is stopped (without the ORACLE error), saying: there is no backup of the six data files.

I may be able recover the backup piece that he needs. I suppose that if I move it into the database directory and that you raise OVERLAP that I would be able to RESTORE it (?). However, I'd rather widely to use the most recent backup, which is also in the database directory.

Any ideas on how to obtain RMAN to recognize this backup piece?

    Thank you!

    Brian

Once the RECOVERY is completed by RMAN, do not use RMAN to OPEN the database.
    JUDGMENT of RMAN.

Then use SQLPLUS / AS SYSDBA and
    MIGRATE FROM STARTUP
    ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS

  • Backup and the RAC database

    Hello

I was wondering that if I have a (10g) 2-node RAC database, the database is in noarchivelog mode. Is it possible that I can do a cold upward on one instance while the other instance still works?

    Thank you
    Chau

It is not a (consistent) backup cold if the other node is still in place and available. When you try to back up the other node, the CNS will not work with the current SNA. Maybe you can put the other node in "read only" mode while you perform a cold backup on the other node? Haven't tried, but just a suggestion. Is there a particular reason you want to make a backup of cold? RMAN works very well.

  • Require restart of the instance cache read-only to suffer a complete refresh?

Basic question on the cache read-only group:

When restarting of the machine hosting a cache read-only TimesTen (or restarting the instance TimesTen), TimesTen must reload the entire cache of Oracle? Either it uses data from a file of control point and ask that changes in Oracle to the point of control?

    Thank you!

TimesTen recovery is almost something all or nothing. It can recover completely or not at all. If ar control points and/or newspapers damaged so that it can recover at all so the whole datastroe must be re-created (e.g. from a backup). In this case it will take a complete refresh and it should be done manually as part of the recovery of the data store.

There is an interesting case of corner. If there is a corruption to the end of newspapers and LogAutoTruncate = 1 (the default value by the way!), let's get back to the point of corruption and throw the rest of the newspapers. In this case, depending on which newspaper was ruled out, it could well be 'missing' cache TT tables (and indeed of memory not cache tables) of data. The AUTOREFRESH mechanism will detect in the majority of cases this and will trigger a refresh complete but maybe this isn't what you want. a complete refresh of a 10 M line table is a great thing and could have an impact as well TT and Oracle while it is happening.

My advice is to disable the LogAutoTruncate. In most cases, after any failure recovery will work very well and AUTOREFRESH will recover automatically. In cases where there are problems of recovery (which is a very serious situation in any case) it is best to take some control over the recovery process yourself.

If you mean that you have to keep your Mac connected to a Time Capsule via Ethernet for future backups, then the answer is no. Time Machine and time Capsule are designed to work over wireless for your Mac would just need to be connected to the wireless network provided by the time Capsule.

If the Time Capsule and MacBook Pros are not on the same network, the MacBook is not backup in the time Capsule. You probably see what snapshots leaving MacBook on the local disk, until the two are reconnected. If you don't want that to happen, disable Time Machine on a different network.

  • How to make the partition of Seagate backup so the Macbook Air?

I just bought a Macbook Air 13' 2015, I have a seagate external hard drive backup 1 TB plus all my files in it, coming from windows PC and I switch to Mac, when I try to make a partition in disk utility, I can't select an option for partition, its greyed, but I can read/write because of the Paragon for Mac OS driver I want just a partition on my mac with Time Machine backup, but I can't use my external drive for Time Machine it will erase everything on my external hard drive. Thank you

Unless you need to keep the Windows files you put on the disk and copied to the computer, then I suggest that you simply re - prepare the drive for use on Mac. Because the drive has been formatted on a Windows system you cannot partition via the Mac. But you can re-prep. disk using the partition scheme GUID for the two partitions and format of one of them for MS-DOS or ExFAT using Windows. But as I said earlier, if you do not need to use Windows and want to use for the backup on the Mac, then he prep exclusively for Mac. Use Time Machine backup requires a volume that is at least 2 or 3 times the capacity of the computer HARD drive.

    Drive partition and format

    1. Open utility disk from the Applications\utilitaires folder.
    2. After disk utility charges select the drive (entrance Out-bumpy with of the mfgr.) ID and size) in the list to one side.
    3. Click on the Partition or delete tab in the toolbar utility of disc that is activated. If both are enabled, then choose clear.
    4. Adjustable circular diagram to set the number of partitions if you want more than one. Otherwise leave the default of one.
    5. In the Group dropdown set the GUID partition scheme. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
    6. Click on the apply button and wait for the fact button to activate.
    7. Quit disk utility.

[Permission to use any part of the foregoing has been granted by khati, exclusively, to theratter.]

  • Cannot transfer Time Machine backups on the new drive

I store my backup Time Machine on a Seagate 1.5 TB drive when the drive starts giving errors.  I had files on this computer and was able to transfer all except for 2 who were on unreadable sectors.  Fortunately, one of these files was an older archived version that I could afford to give up and the other was a temporary file in the photo library and since all other items were okay, I think I'm good.

The problem came when I tried to transfer my Time Machine backup of 800 GB for a new disk.  When I copy and Exact-paste (cmd-opt-shift-v) the Backups.backupdb to the new drive, it gets the extent of November 23, 2015 and then dies because reports of the Console to the system, it gets an IO error when you try to read:

    /Library/SystemMigration/history/migration-245250B6-4F52-4FBB-BD61-546A8C19CCD5/ QuarantineRoot/private/var/db/dyld/dyld_shared_cache_x86_64

in the relevant backup.  And because it's an IO error it simply abandons the whole process so I have no backup from November 23, included, for now.

Because the disc is unstable, I wasn't able to use disk utility to make repairs on it.  The disc is what is and I have to deal with the mess, that I do not have the disorder, that I would have.

I tried to manually place the missing files in the database, but the operating system will not let me.  I want to just copy my backup / OS X stop abandonment and be more like Windows and give me the options to "try again" or "fail" instead of just quitting!  I mean, why should I lose my backup all hierarchy of 23 November and beyond, simply because you cannot read a file, a file that I could simply replace in the backup of the current version or you can just ignore it.

I tried to copy files on and setting xattr on them to be backup items, but they are wrong.  I tried chflags parameter to make the writable directory, but it does not work.  I can't copy the missing files to fix my archives.  Help.

Please, don't try to transfer backups of a failed drive. Placing the disk aside until you don't know no longer you need the data, then delete and recycle. Start a new backup set on the new drive. For more security, you always have more than one backup.
