Bad touch screen orientation

Hello

I have an IQ830uk running Windows 7 touchscreen. I went today and the touchscreen does not behave correctly. When I touch the screen, the point recording is not where is my finger. If I move my finger up and down, the cursor moves from left to right, and vice versa, if I move my left finger and right the slider up and down.

I tried to reset the default settings in the "Configuration of HP touchscreen" tool, but it did not work. I tried to calibrate the touch screen, but it records only the button to the left of the screen (I think because its more wide it is high).

Please help, I have run out of ideas.

Thank you
Nick

If anyone has this problem, I found a solution. If you click on the Support and drivers above, then search for the drivers for your machine, there is a update for the touch screen for Windows 7. Unstall it, and the problem is solved.

See you soon

Nick

Just opened my new u920t-117, my first time buying a Toshiba, 5 mins in and excitement began to turn to you to worry.

I really hope that its makes me something simple, bad, or at worst a software problem.

At no time the touch function works (either in tablet mode or laptop).
In the--> system under Pen & Touch Panel it says "no net or touch entry is available for this view ' as my last computer that had no touch screen.

This means - there is a problem with the driver, or something.

It also appears when I click on stop down it stops down and 5 seconds later starts again.

    Hi stephen

    > I really hope that its hurts me something simple, or at worst a software issue.

I'm afraid the worst cases are a hardware malfunction, and I guess that your contact U920T Satellite malfunctions of the screen.

I read in another thread about the similar problem, and it seems that service engineers must be contacted in order to solve these problems of touchscreen.

I don't know if you could ask your dealer for a replacement unit but in the case where the dealer replace the laptop, get in touch with a Toshiba ASP your country to fix.

  • Satellite U840T-103 - touch screen stopped working

    Hi, I have a Satellite, U840t-103.

The touch screen has stopped working earlier.
    I don't know why.

I think I have been juggling the project button, but I still can't get it to work again.

    Help, please.

    Hello

Touch screen don't need any special driver of Toshiba.
The driver is already part of Windows 8 / 8.1
That is why I don't think there is a software problem, but of course, I would recommend you to retrieve the computer laptop back to factory settings using the Toshiba recovery disc just to check if this procedure would allow the touchscreen feature once more.

This is a first common procedure in case something bad would happen to the laptop or the system.

But if the system recovery doesn't help, the laptop must be verified by the service provider allowed for possible hardware malfunction. But let's hope, the recovery procedure would solve your problem.

  • AT300 - area on the touch screen, pick up ghost keys

    Hi people,

I'm having a problem with my Tablet AT300 where it that takes the touchscreen touches - many of them - in a place where it is not to be touched. When I turn it on, it starts to go crazy with the vibrations repeated thought to touch screen that is to be touched. I see the behavior that it is picking up in an area of the screen - the left-hand side from the bottom when held in orientation landscape with the camera at the top. I can say that it's in this area because it retains hit the back button, and if I do then rotate the device to the left, it keeps bring up the pop-up menu settings of the lower right and close it again.

I saw one report of this type of behavior that was caused by a loose wire to drop the device. My Tablet has fallen a few times, but not on hard surfaces. It is possible, but it could also be something else. I am reluctant to remove if it's a software problem (well the fact that it is an area of the touch screen suggests it's material, I guess). I guess I could reset it hard, but to be honest, I don't want to do this because my daughter won't lose its apps and saved games.

So, who is the most likely scenario here, and what is the best way of difficulty? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

I think that you need to install the driver for the Wacom tablet.
The driver is placed on the page of the European driver Toshiba
The WACOM Dual Touch driver for the integrated tablet is required to use the features of the tablet.

There is also the Extension of Tablet PC Package.
This package installs a range of important public services.
Utility _TOSHIBA of rotation: _ define the orientation of the screen by default as the system to be used in the transition from the PC to Tablet mode, or vice versa.
_TOSHIBA tablet PC buttons driver: _ you can dedicate tablet buttons to perform common tasks so that you can easily use your tablet PC away from your workstation. For example, you can dedicate a button to open a program or to change the orientation of your screen.
_TOSHIBA accelerometer utilities: _ these utilities are a set of material utilities that work with the integrated motion sensors you machine. With the accelerometer, your machine will be able to detect how you're holding it at one point. You can set the machine to perform a specific function when the device is tilted quickly left or right, either at the front or back. You can also take control of the cursor in some applications and move by leaning the PC in a certain direction.

But all of these tools are released for Vista when perhaps they will work with Win 7 too check it!

  • ThinkPad Yoga gestures on touch screen

    Hello

I have the problem that all the actions of Windows 8.1 works perfectly well with the Touchpad, but most does not work with the touch screen.

Pinch to zoom in, click on a finger or selection or longer a finger click for menu right click drop-down menu work fine.

Especially in tablet mode, it's annoying to have to enter the pen to use slide from the side of the screen to the right to open the bar of charms and not being able to use my finger.

I guess it's just a problem of parameters which is a little hard to find - or I'm blind looking for it - because with the exception of theses actions the touch screen works fine and precise as it should.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me!

PS. : The Machine is a Thinkpad Yoga

EDIT: Ok, I've just discovered in playback Mode when the camera is on the right side, everything work perfect - the other 3 positions the problem is still

I had a similar problem on mine. Recalibrate the touch screen fixed.

Many people have problems with this on Windows 7 devices that came with touchscreens when at the edge of the touchscreen is not capable of being touched. I'm guessing that Windows 8 requires the button start to limit (or beyond the edge) of the screen for the gesture to be detected.

When the screen is badly calibrated, when you touch the edge of the screen, it registers as just inside of the edge and is detected as a click instead. Given that the calibration does not change with the rotation of the device, I'd be your vertical calibration is ok (because it works in playback mode), but that your horizontal calibration is a little off.

If you are looking for "Calibration" in the Control Panel, the "Tablet PC Settings' contains the menu to recalibrate the touch (and the pen if you have a) entries

  • TouchSmart HP Envy 17-j017cl touch screen click on screen by itself

    64-bit Windows 8
    Product number: E9G80UA

I recently bought about 4 months ago and it's great for a little while. But recently he would make this annoying glitch. The screen would act as if I'm pressing the screen somewhere in the middle of it and selecting whatever it is within its range. This may seem not so bad by the sounds of it, but if you play a video or a website with links in this area it will click on a link or stop/play videos. It is very annoying!

Troubleshooting: at first I thought that it would be my touchpad, so I made sure that I didn't to it during these periods. But it would still do so even if I'm not in contact with the laptop. So if I use only my wireless mouse to go through Web pages or anything else, he would still do the ghost by clicking.

I thought then that maybe it's my wireless mouse, so I unplugged the laptop USB receiver and he always does.

Then I tried to get online with HP technical support and they checked my computer and tried a few things like remove the driver of the touchpad and so on without any results. He finally told me that I have to send it to them for repair (still in warranty). However, I have not the time to send my phone to them for repairs.

My last thought was to turn off the touch screen. What I did by going to Device Manager and by disabling one of the HIDDEN options. I've had several, so I had to try each of them since none were marked as the touch screen, but only as a HID device. It has worked so far and he has not clicked anywhere yet.

My question is, is anyone know what I need to do to correct the problem? I thought to update the driver, but I can't find it on the HP site and when I try to update the driver through Device Manager it says he has the best driver available, which most of the time is BS. I guess I just need to know where I can find the right driver for the touch screen.

    Hi Spoon1901,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your computer laptop 17-j017cl TouchSmart from HP ENVY and your touch screen, here's a link to a update the system BIOS. It will help improve the screen problems.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • 9900 screen orientation problem

Hello. I had a problem on problem of orientation.  Only 9900 real device got this problem (the other deivce is ok as Simulator 9810 and 9900 also ok.).

    I put the direction of the screen like this: Ui.getUiEngineInstance () .setAcceptableDirections (Display.DIRECTION_PORTRAIT);

But management screen show always reason to 9900.

Did someone also get this problem?

Pls share the solution. Thank you very much.

This is perhaps because previous models could not rotate the screen -?  Only touch screen models.

All other models are either a touchscreen where North is the same as the Portrait is a non touchscreen where the display is always North either portrait or landscape.

So just check AccelerometerSensor.isSupported (), and if that returns false, you know it will always be in the North either portrait or landscape.

If what you're trying to do is to make the display always be oriented as when the phone is held normally, then set the acceptable to the north direction, and it should behave the same on everything... except that the Storm, the display does not obey a command to move a certain way, it will remain however is that the app was started , but then lock in the North, if the user does rotate this portrait.

  • A project which supports the devices to screen both touch and non touch screen.

Our team works at the request of BB, which is oriented to a wide range of supported devices. It should support devices with OS version 4.2 - 5.0. We decided to use the v4.2 OS APIs. Then our application would be supported by all devices. It was a successful until recent times. Problems arose when we started to use navigationMovement() function to handle events of movement. This function works very well on devices with a trackball and it does not work on touch screens. On touchscreens, we should replace touchEvent() function.

    When we added touchEvent function to our project, then the project could not be started on devices with OS< v4.7="" (error="" starting="" application:="" class="" 'net.rim.device.api.ui.touchevent'="" not="" found).="" so="" i="" think="" we="" should="" split="" our="" project="" in="" two="" branches:="" the="" first="" will="" support ="" touch="" screens="" and="" the="" second="" one="" will="" not.="" there="" will="" be="" two="" shortcomings="" in="" this="">

    1. we must ensure on corrections in the two projects. It can happen that one branch has been updated and the other is not observed (has been forgotten for example).

2 instead of this a binary, we will have two binary. But it is easier to have a binary that works on all desired platforms.

So please give me an advice how should we update our project to make it work on touch and non-touch screen devices.

Software development we use: JDE 4.2 and 4.7 JDE.

you could build a library for the base classes 4.7 project and use the dynamicy for them class (class.forname) loading. or use the preprocessor, but then you would still have 2 versions
