Battery indicator indicates "battery is not installed."

Lenovo SL 510 10mos old. "Recently, the battery indicator indicates" battery is not installed. Occurs when you use the power supply mains or battery only. Have the batteries removed and replaced, but still the same message. Power Manager shows also the battery does not exist. Operation is OK on battery alone, but I have no idea about the State of charge of the battery, time remaining, etc.. Is there any solution for this? The update of the firmware released 08/09/2010 will solve the problem? Help please.

Tried all three. Patrick first Bishop: no change driver Hotkey: no change. Last updated firmware. Message: firmware update not required. Rebooted and flag State is back on and functioning.

Thanks for your help.

    Hi, syl4s

I did some research and found this thread which can be useful. Another user did something similar, but with a different system. The solution that worked for this user was a pilot of power requiring an update. This links directly to the solution, even if the entire thread has some good information. Update the driver should work for you, but let me know just in case it is not.

  • HP Pavilion 17 Laptop: battery connected, not charging AND battery unaccessable

In recent months, at one point, my battery would indicate nn % (plugged in, does not support) and maintain this accusation so much it was plugged. Running on the battery, the charge would eventually diminish and in order to get the battery charge again, I went through the process of uninstalling the compatible battery control method ACPI in Device Manager. Usually within 24 hours, choses things would be back to plugged in, does not support. However, that is no longer to fix the problem. (When it was a question the indicator next to the place where the power adapter is plugged blue flash. Also, I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 a few weeks ago, but this question was held for a few months now).

Now the battery is 2% (plugged in, does not support) and when I use the HP Support Assistant to check the battery, I get the message "control of battery HP could not access the battery. I did a hard reset, reset the BIOS and updated the BIOS, to anything will do. If I unplug the adapter, the computer turns off.

Suggestions of additional corrections? I saw a further suggestion to perform a system recovery but I did not yet a recovery disk to win 10 (I don't have one for victory 8.1), and it would make a difference anyway since no plugged in, charging problem took place under win 8.1?

    Hi @shmay7,

From the information provided, I think it's a problem with the connection between the laptop and the battery. It might be something wrong with the point of contact between the battery and the portable or to the battery circuit. It is better to have another battery, so you can try it with the laptop. The creation of recovery media should not be affected by the problem of power with the battery is not installed.

  • Battery is not properly recognized on Satellite L500

    Hi all.

I ve Toshiba Satellite L500 with Windows7. Two days ago a red cross appears on the indicator of battery and opinion: 30% available plugged in, does not support. Consider replacing your battery.
And when I plug off AC Laptop stops. I replaced the battery but the same action when taken outside the computer AC stops. Don't run some antivirus programs, no results. I installed a battery tester who told me that the battery is not installed. Run the program CFS files not bad.
Haven't tried with the Power Manager no results.

My battery works well on other laptop similar.
    Pls help!

    Hello

Remove the battery and start your laptop with AC power only. When the operating system is loaded, turn the battery and check if the battery will recognize.
If this isn't the case, I guess there is a problem of electronic power supply on the motherboard and it should be checked by the Toshiba service provider.

  • T60 - battery does not recognize universal charger

    Hello

I bought a refurbished lenovo T60. It was fine, the first few days. Battery charge and so on.

Then the charger/adapter has gone bad.

I have a universal charger and I use it. The problem with him, is that battery refuses to charge him. If the charger is on,

thinkadvantage Power Manager tries for a second, then the battery display of "battery is not installed. The T60 would go to the power, but does not charge the battery.

Only when the charger is switched off voltage/a came out, the laptop is running on battery power. I have the chance to see the battery is running, but it would drain the battery.

    Please notify

-Is the problem with do not use the charger of lenovo.

-What I have to buy lenovo charger or an option by which the battery would get charged «universal charger»

    Thank you

Chargers no-lenovo usually charge the battery very well but I saw these cheap "knock-offs" heat while they ignite. I strongly suggest that you get a real. They are not expensive. If you have lived in the United States I could get it to you for less then $25 delivered to your door for 90 watt, or $20 to 65 watts. I imagine that they are still cheaper in Asia, in order to verify the costs on the local websites or ebay. Good luck and make sure you check their authentic before purchasing.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

    Step 1

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

Select the feedback connections* and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

Test while signed in as a guest. Same problem?

After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

    * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

    Step 2

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is caused by changes in the system of third party that load automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Please take this step regardless of the results of step 1.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Battery does not charge, but by Satellite Pro L510 is running in battery mode

Hi, I had a few odd battery problems these days:

I had charged my laptop completely to 100% and then used it on the train on my way home (in Windows 7 64-bit), how I got it to about 70%, shut down normally, put it in my bag and left there until I got home. When I got home, I tried to turn it on but it lights and battery light orange blinking indicating that there can be no charge. I plugged it in and it worked as usual (Linux), so don't think too hard on this subject.

Later I realized that the battery was still the load after longer that it should have been and running the acpi + (linux) command told me has the battery + charge, 0%, charge at the zero rate - will never fully charge. + I disconnected to see if it worked, and the battery lasted as usual, although always it's 0% charge rate.

I started in Windows 7, and the battery reported that it was at 68%, so I assumed it was back to normal. A while later, I noticed that he was still 68%, despite having connected for a while - at least an hour. Start on linux, acpi showed data battery normal search, except that it was 'blocked' to 68%.

I disconnected the laptop and run it as usual, and it ran until he cut; I guess with him out of power. I plugged it back in and it is 'charge' again, even if it is still 0% battery and "load at the zero rate".

Before all this happened, the battery works well - apparently to 94% of its capacity. It would be modified for a few hours unplugged play movies or games.

Summary: PC laptop battery suddenly going to works "attributed to the zero rate" and 0% complete; battery still seems to work very well, seems fresh and portable no power plugged in but the battery is not 'charging' or have his percentage of charge remaining increase.

Someone at - it ideas? I have yet to try a BIOS update, but it seems that there is one available, so I will give that a try. I feel that the problem is not the battery as the battery controller, so I don't want to invest in a new battery without knowing it, the problem will be solved.

    Thank you!

    Hello

I think you should try upgrading the BIOS
BIOS default value, and then try to charge the battery again.

    > get the impression, the problem is not the battery as the battery controller, so I don't want to invest in a new battery without knowing it, the problem will be solved.
Well, it of really difficult to tell if the battery or the mobo may be affected
In my opinion, the battery must be tested without a doubt

  • Update the BIOS on a Tecra M5 - 386 when the battery is not recogised.

My battery is not seen by my Tecra M5, but still fresh and feeds the laptop, I found info that offers as well as an upgrade of the BIOS might help, but the software update me gives an error message "[error] AC adapter is not connected, or battery power is not enough." How can I update the BIOS by bypassing the software security device? Told me on another forum that execution of the update .exe with /forceit BIOS in the CMD window that did not work. Can anyone help please.

In most cases, the update of the BIOS does not solve battery problems
Maybe the battery starts to malfunction because of age.

I would recommend replacing the battery first!

By the way; I guess the while the update of the BIOS error because of the software required missing; If you are using Win XP, then you must install page European driver of Toshiba common Modules. If you are using Windows 7 you must install VAP (value added package)
