Battery must be removed or not?

I just bought a new HP 8570W laptop and I need to know how to handle the battery. My laptop is the msot of the time connected to the a/c adapter, the question is: should I remove the battery and connect only when you plan a trip?

Generally speaking, the management of the laptop battery to keep it safe and in good condition? What are the best rules to recharge? I do not understand whether the battery is maintained under when he reached 100% of load or disconnects automatically it is removed.

Thank you for any assistance. Best.

Yes No more is an appropriate option, personally, I prefer now in and using at least once a week or more, as I found my staff & workbooks that it tends maintain cells healthier longer.

With this option you are the best to vary the amount you use each discharge rather than keep it discharge roughly the same discharge level of say 50 to 70%, as the full charge of ocasional 15 to 20 percent will make the right cell & keep the higher lifetime capacity.

With the option of storage in my view, State of charge of 40 to 50% is the best, I tend to go for 50% and have stored batteries from 2 to 6 months.

Go with which option suits your needs better and not worry too much in the form option if performed well will be better than the effort of the average user on the battery maintenance ;-)

Cycle count should not be a problem if you need use the battery then use him as extreme concern of charge cycles how you gets rather ridiculous in the real world, the problem is County of cycle on like HP and acer are low, as the quality of the cells is low & heat machine is strong the battery is superior and they put the lower title.

As an example of our work books used out of Office charge about 300 cycles per year so that we at least 2 years on the low quality of the cells with cycle count as our probooks but our thinkpads have made more than 3 years.

With HP normally, rebuild us the battery if the casing in good condition and reset the smart as control panel get cells better that way compared to hp OEM or aftermarket predefined options.

In ADDITION, 2nd edition: I have an infected memory stick digital camera.  It has infected my computer 4 times from AUGUST 2009 I realized that it was the culprit.  It leads to the DEATH of SCREEN BULE.  He arrived Friday.  I made the recovery of the system.  I REINSTALLED it.  QUESTIONS: What should I do with this memory stick?  Throw it in the trash?  I lost 6 months of precious photos.  Can I move photos or keep the photos?  What do you recommend?

In ADDITION, through the memory stick infect my computer and then the PICTURES who made the infection.  About 3 or 4 flash drives have been put in my computer.  Are they all infected?  I have College CRITICISM of work on one that I can't lose.  What should I do?  Should these flash drives be CLEANED of INFECTION?  They CLEAN themselves without losing me my files stored?  What do you recommend?  I need someone to assess whether or not they are infected?

The infected memory stick infects my digital camera?  And my Photosmart HP ALL IN ONE printer?  Are they ALSO infected?  Will be going to infect my computer.

I do not think that the SECURITY SOFTWARE I have: (free from Comcast) Norton and Microsoft Security Essentials, are fighting the infection from the memory stick.  It would be good to have an EXPERT evaluate the memory stick and tell me what they think.  As well as my flash drives, an expert must evaluate and tell me if 3 flash drives are infected? And they are clean? And the files that I have on them can be saved?

I hope you can help me, THANK YOU, WG

First, you have to run two anti-virus programs.  This is NOT recommended.

Second... you state one of them is Microsoft Security Essentials.  If this is the case, you can't turn on Windows Defender because MSE already made defender and stops automatically Defender because it is no longer necessary.

Difficulty of these 2 things and your problem should be solved.

  • C50-A-1DN satellite: black screen until the battery has been removed

The battery of my laptop Satellite C50-A-1DN was defective despite attentive treatment after more than a year.

Now the screen remained black at the beginning of the unit.
After that I removed the battery, I could see the computer then power up as usual.

    How is that?

Well, this question seems a bit strange because even if the battery couldn't keep cooler, the laptop should be able to power being plugged into the mains.

I'm not quite sure that the problem is related to the battery...

However, the battery is a removable part and very cheap... so in all first the battery should be replaced and laptop computer features must be tested using the new good farm work.

If the problem of the laptop will not be resolved even by using the new battery, well in this case there must be a serious problem with the motherboard... maybe power electronic problems...

  • The battery swelling?-Trackpad is not a click.

    Hello

5-6 weeks, I noticed that my trackpad was not letting me click on the left side, I can click on the right side and a little to the left, but there is one area where it is impossible to click. After reading a lot of Web sites and discussions, it seemed like the battery was swelling. But a few hours later, the trackpad was back to normal and I could click anywhere. This incident occurred again a few days later and a week later. Finally, about 3 weeks, part of the left of the trackpad would not click, but it stayed like that, and it's always like that now. I do not leave my computer plugged in for long periods of time and on the week take it out for much of the day and only plug it in at night. My battery has crossed 450 cycles and talks a little more than 3 years. The trackpad is usable for me and I use 3/4 of it, but only about 1/2 of it's easy to click. I'm afraid if it's battery swelling, it could worsen and cause a major problem. What should I do? And this battery is a swelling or not?

    Thank you

    Flyer505

    Welcome to ASC, flyer505!

Allowing it to continue without correction can cause HUGE problems.

    • The trackpad may stop functioning completely requiring replacement
    • The swelling may damage the Unibody case any practice
    • A battery of swelling at some point will flee his guts everywhere inside the computer and can corrode the connections with the goo comes into contact.

Delays are likely to increase the costs of repair. Don't wait any longer unless you are ready to replace the computer, you have now.

  • Battery "connected, charge", but DOES not charge.

    Hello

I've recently updated in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium.  With Vista, my battery played very beautifully and I've never had problems.  As soon as I have upgraded to Windows 7, I currently has the following problem:

When I hover over the battery icon in the system tray, it says ' 19% available (plugged in, load).  However, the battery is not at all.  The small farm level animation stops and, although the system seems to thinking that is my battery charge, it is not.  When I first installed the new OS, battery charges to 69% with the same problem, so he went up to 75 percent for about 1 week before in free fall, so that now my battery charge limit is 19%, which, as you can imagine, takes about 15 minutes to the battery power.

After several redundant and unnecessary communications with Microsoft, I thought that maybe someone on this forum might have experience with this problem or any suggestions on what I could try.

Note that it is NOT apparently common problem some people have with the battery saying "plugged in, not charging", that my system is specifically stated the battery recharges when it is not.

It took me some time to get even Microsoft agree the problem they insisted that it was because my battery is a bit old.  However, this happens with the two batteries that I own, using a charger that I have, and, as I said before, it started just when I installed clean Windows 7.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi nancypalmiter,

1 - is your laptop battery charge when turned off?

2 did you do changes on the computer before the show?

Sometimes, the problem may be with the laptop. The battery isn't bad, but it could be a loose connection or hardware problem with laptop. It will be the right idea to get the material under test if the battery of the laptop is not getting loaded even if the laptop is turned off.

You can also try the BIOS update and check if it helps. You can get in touch with the system manufacturer for assistance for the update of the BIOS.

Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.
