  The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha Simulator does not support BBM.  We are currently working on BBM adding support to the Simulator.  For now you will need a real device to test.

• share text via BBM surveys

  So I connected my app to the BBM. So much easier that BB7 incidentally.

  In any case this is the usecase I want to solve.

  We have static text we want a user to be able to share with one of their friends BBM.

  The user clicks on the 'Share on BBM' button in my application, and the user is presented with his BBM contacts list. They then click the desired friend and the message box is pre-filled with the text we quote.

  The main problem I encounter is that I can't find the appropriate documentation.

  Looks like that the day I ask THAT RIM decides to write a good blog post discussing this EXACT thing.

  It is impossible to recover a message once it has been deleted from the BBM. An option to use going forward is the function "save the Chat history. In the latest version of BBM for iPhone the abilty to save your chat history in iCloud.

  Hmm... I don't know why your BBM contacts are suspended.

  • I would try to backup your BBM contacts on your media card (open BBM > Menu key > Options > backup locally to media card).
  • Then, to delete BBM on your device in Options > advanced > Applications (options > device > Applications)
  • Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.
  • Now, reinstall BBM using your Blackberry browser to www.blackberry.com/bbm
  • restore your identical to the backup above BBM contacts.

  I improved my BB 9900 with the new bbm version 6.2.0.56 on 12/11/2012 with 18modules and made the sysn for bb Desktop Manager. to my surprise, I see more bbm icon. I watched andsearched than everywhere from instant messages folder to the search icon, but it's no where found :-(What escapes me?

  Guys, I'm back bbm icon, I had to remove the bbm to my options--> management applications and reinstall it from the world app... even if the mystery is still open as to why it disappears first :-)

• BlackBerry Smartphones Inbox management problem

  I used to be able to not see that my e-mail address when I press the M (for Messages) and therefore the number of display Message would only count the number of e-mail messages that I read.  Now, I see not only my email messages but phone calls (with number of missed calls), BBM, SMS and WhatsApp messages.

  How can I change to what I had before with just view emails.  I tried to go to Messages, Options, management of the Inbox and I check Gmail and uncheck the text Messages, but I don't see one another other options to select other types of messages.

  At the stop sign BBM message to display in the message folder: go BBM > click Menu > Options > under various uncheck Show cats in the Messages Application.

  To stop what is App message to display in the message folder: go to WhatsApp > settings > Advanced settings > choose off to show chats in the messages folder.

  As I said above, apart from BBM, go to Options > status... it will show your PIN. Tell them your PIN (always outside BBM) and use them to register as a contact in their BBM. They should do the same thing - get his PIN code, say you, you enter it into your BBM. Once each of you has the other as a contact, you can use BBM to IM back.

  Optionally, you can add each other pins to your BB point contact the other person... then that allows to add the person as a contact in BBM.

• BlackBerry Smartphones Feeds indicator bar problem

  Hi all, I just of had a curve to a torch and am having a problem with my new camera.  When I get a new BBM message or voicemail msg, the icon on the bar indication of flow.  When I press on the bar, it takes me to a screen showing my calendar?  Should not show the BBM msg I received and also the voicemail msg?  Instead, I find the app and this msg BBM access mode.  That is not normal, is it?   Thanks in advance.

  Drop-down menu displays the next 3 calendar events, as well as all new messages (email, SMS, BBM) which are grouped under the generic "Messages" folder.

  To add BBM messages, open BBM, go to Options, do scroll down and check "Show of cats in the messages app.

  To have e-mail or SMS (including notifications of vmail) show, go to Messages > Options > Inbox management. Check all the items you want to appear in the folder messages & notification down. (Select SMS for SMS/vmail notifications.)

• Sharing framework of invocation on BBM

  I am doing part of the call to work. But unfortunately I can not find good samples for the AIR sdk. So I hacked something together of what I found for the native development kit. It works... the BBM lance and allows me to choose a contact. But the text is not passed to BBM.

  This is my code:

  After a few game, I found the solution.

  In the code above, I used:

  byteData.writeUTF ("this is a text to share.");

  but you must use:

  byteData.writeUTFBytes ("this is a text to share.");

  the BBM is launched and the text is copied correctly.

  Would be always cool to have more examples of how to call the essential applications of BB10.

• Sharing files via BBM [amateur]

  Hey! Before I start I clear I used, gone through the invocation all the associated examples & Yes still does not know how to share a particular file to BBM contacts with just one button.

• Framed Classic BBM blackBerry does not

  My BBM app works fine, but the sidebar function shows no contacts or the convos. I prefer to use the menu hub / side.

  I discovered the problem.  At the top of the QuickView screen, there is an arrow down which allows you to choose a subfolder BBM.  By selecting this folder, the conversations and contacts of current charges are filled in the list (which was empty).

  Hello everyone! I heard about videoconferencing in bbm, but I can't find any possibility to do this with my contacts. They use bbm in iphone and once I received an unexpected video call from them but then the video call has been interrupted without reason and without giving me time to answer. I asked them how they managed to do it and they told me that they did nothing except try to contact me via the option normal call on bbm. If someone can tell me, it is possible to make calls video on bbm and if it is how can I do? Im running OS 10.3.2836 on my passport. Any advice will be useful. Thank you!
