  I am Technical Director of a software company that produces software for the Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms and evaluates market Blackberry entry.

  I am very concerned by the number of answers in support forums of consultant development RIM with answers such as:

  * Which cannot be done.

  * You are not able to access programmatically to...

  * It is not possible to...

  * There is no BlackBerry API for that...

  I can hardly commit to porting our software to BlackBerry applications if we are likely to receive answers like this to half way through a development project.

  What are the formal escalation procedures are available to solve this problem?  What paid - for support agreements are available specifically for software third homes?  How reactive is RIM of API request for improvement?  We talk to?

  Personally I'm not overwhelmed by the dedicated support. as a member of the alliance we certainly have not access to an API not exposed.
  I am developing an application that is also developed on symbian and windows mobile (by teams) and admit that there are some basic things that the BB does not, as a total control on phone calls or control other applications.
  However the BB has a sophisticated safety concept and is more easily integrated in environments of high security (running code checks for this).

  If you have a fantastic and clear requirements, with that I suggest you to check them, better with a seasoned expert bb, but a good java developer some time to look at the API (and the search on the forums button) should also be able to check their.

• Problem creating on the new laptop recovery disks

  Hi Forum:

  I started the procedure of creation of recovery on a HP Pavilion g6 disk.  The laptop was bought this morning at Costco.

  I used discs DVD + R DL for a package that had been previously used for other creations of recovery disc (on other new computers, of course.).  The first drive put in place and the creation of the first (of three) ran discs then hung to 54% of this disk check is completed.  I left him for two hours, and it has not changed. No doubt had hung up.

  It's frustrating because this is the second time in two days that this product. Yesterday, the system blocked when you create a set of recovery discs after the first disc was created and it was gone in half way through the second disc.

  I know that Costco could also resume this current computer but I don't have the time to do it before the owners go on vacation. My choice is to make a deal AcronisTrue Image backup (done) then return to Costco later when they came back.

  I think it might be the discs that I use and who are at fault, with the exception of the fact that I could do a full game just four days using the discs to a same parcel.

  Thanks again Cheryl.  I think you're right.  I had better call HP and explain what happened.  I won't be able to do for some time that the people who are owners go on vacation tomorrow and need with them for email and Skype.

  I'm working on a fairly obscure topic: I am writing an express vi, which automatically generates an interface based on the parent-vi.

  Just in case anyone else is looking for a solution on this, I finally wrote vi which does this job... and does not need the highlight 250ms.

  The idea is first to loop through all the owners and collect their references, until you reach the top.
  Then take this picture to have references and it will attack all the way to the top.

  I distinguished by ClassName.
  If it is a normal control, I just save position and size (masterrect). I also store the component owner (not to be confused with the Panel!)

  If it's a Page (which is a subpage of a TabControl), I note how it's called. Page names are enumerations, and so unique, so I can use it.
  If it's a TabControl, (which should follow after a Page), I look through all its Pages and switch to one that I saved before.
  Finally, I reach the Panel, which is a subgroup of experts (created by dispatchers) or the complete Panel and change the origin of the pane (which should be better called ScrollPosition). Where place this origin depends on the size of the object and the Panel... and you need to finally find a solution according to your needs. If you do this, be aware of the difference between the Panel and PaneCoordinates...

  Don't not depictured is the possible setting / resetting of the visibility of the control, I have manage and restore in another place.

  (On a related note: really?) Pane and panels? Owners and have shutters? And I'm not even on the 'curious' behavior of FP. GetImage when the FP uses separators...)

  I have a Windows 7 operating system and1600 x 900 screen resolution.
  I downloaded this game called Gunbound season 2, and it rarely works.
  The game is supposed to go full screen on startup, but it doesn't. After that I run the game, the screen goes black.
  Then the screen reduced on my desk, and nothing happens.
  When I try to implement my game once again, it shows a black screen and then reduced to a minimum on the desktop again. I don't know what the problem is.
  Is - this problem of the game or my computer problem? If this happens for this game, sometimes also for other games.

  Second, a download of Windows XP isn't illegal, I don't think you will get all the answers here to know where to download a copy of Windows XP.

  I can't find a recovery partitionand can not find anywhere to begin the creation of recovery disks.

  I've defragged and cleaned files.  I did a registry clean not long ago who did nothing.

  It was originally my husbands laptop and sat on the shelf unused for 3 years.  We now use for recording and playing music only and don't want no other programs about this other than the music software and a pack of office (which we have).  I don't even think it should be connected to the internet, because I'm afraid that the updates could corrupt the old programs that we will get on it once sorted.

  I can give Microsoft license number so that they can send me XP?

  Does anyone know if I need to rethink the connection through the web?

  Any other advice?

  Contact the manufacturer of the computer.  As the OEM licensed dealer, they had to provide you with a way to restore the computer to its default settings.  You may need to pay for it now.

  General cleaning of the registry nothing if you try to fix something specific, then you usually just fixed this specific thing.  ;-)

  What edition of Windows XP?  Home, professional or Media Center?

  If you have a generic _ Windows XP edition CD corresponding to the product key on the machine sticker (there should be a given, it's a laptop) you may be able to use this generic CD with this product key (or * perhaps *- but not certainly) product key, you can remove the machine using something like Belarc Advisor.

  Best bet - call in the manufacturer.  I doubt that it is out of business, but if they are: How to replace software or hardware, packs Microsoft service to order and replace product manuals

  Well, I'm in a very difficult situation. I have a dell system that I purchased from Dell, so I doubt there's no infringement going on and the product key provided is not valid. What happened is I reinstalled Vista I could not install SP1 still cannot, but that is a different problem. I wonder now activate my windows as the product key is not valid. During installation I don't ask me to enter a product key that the DVD reappattage is provided by Dell and I'm sure that everyone is aware that with this product key is "incorporated" in reinstallation dvd. So, what can I do? I contacted Dell they are charging me just to look at the situation.

  I can't even enter a product key 'different' (identical to one on the sticker pasted on the dell system) that I had an overheating problem and I can read only about 90% of the key I would type here for evidence but it is not safe. Dell refused to give me my product key, because they don't know what it is.

  Is there a way to read the DVD reisntalltion? Oh and I'm stuck in reduced functionality mode, so I can't do much.

  Well, FINALLY, everything is square and works very well. Microsoft support charged me 30GBP and Dell 80GBP to just discuss the issue and even less promising a solution. I didn't take the risk in case there was a hardware problem that was not allowing me to install the OS just then use to cause activation tfailure. So I used my warranty of harware and Dell asked to replace my hard drive as windows reappattage gave me errors. They decided to change the motherboard instead, and later, the hard drive at the same time as the processor and the installtion of Vista drive. They were going to change the DVD drive as apparently the noise he made was unusual, but later, they found the player is supposed to make this amount of noise during playback of a disc for my system (XPS M1330 - do not recommend). Incredible to see how little knowledge about their own products.

  So finally, the system is fixed, will wait another 2 months and hope activation appears once again, but at least I have SP2 running so I'll be able to leverage windows a little more in reduced functionality mode and not just be able to browse the internet.

  So basically if everything fails best bet call your system manufacturer and ask them to run a diagnosis harware find any error and everything to replace! Thanks nadia

  Sorry, my mistake. The size of A4 paper specification was incorrect. Indeed, the size of the paper is atypical to 3-3/4 "x 6-7/8" for obsolete Lefax binders of my wife, but she still uses them for its revenue. I solved the problem by doing this. I called selected MSPublisher white page size, created a new Page size of 3.9 x 6.8 ", double click it to open it, inserted more than two pages, used a Format > Guides page layout to create lines of guide with a good margin of withdrawals on all four sides (leaving a wider margin at the bottom (, a very narrow margin at the top and space for the punching of holes loose-leaf on the left side), insert a spot of number of page at the bottom of the page, insert a text box on the three pages that matched the guidelines used view > two-page spread to deal with pages, connected the 3 text boxes copied the text desired and pasted into the first page of the editor. He overflowed, so I banned the ads create additional pages. I selected all the text and choose font size and point desired (monospaced) and loaded my special size paper into the printer. I had to select the printing and the paper size Options, and size (limited options) which seemed to fit better called envelope Monarch. Then I was able to print the document. It was not simple to figure all this out and took a bit of experimentation, but "nothing like the success! I have since written all this down so I can refer to it when I need to do it again.   I added two lines to the code (lines 08 and 09) and when I run my program, I now get the error:

  I'm not quite sure what is wrong or what I can change. There seems to be right, and in fact, it worked before. I have no idea why this error keeps popping up. Any help on that would be great. Thanks in advance.
