I went into the signing options, re-created the signature, and for 3 weeks completely removed the signature, but I always get the grey box display. Email being accessible via www.hotmail.com, and I don't have the problem, when I answer emails via my iPad2.

  the only way is to convert numbered in the text (select numbered list > ctrl (or right click) > bulleted & numbered lists > convert numbered text).

  Then, with search - replace, you can change the paragraph returns in space (or in space by commas as in your example)

  This means that some services has tried to open a connection & couldn't, possibly IPv4 vs IPv6 or iCloud/back to my Mac.

  Ask facebook or look at their support site, since you use their messenger app.
